I couldn't find anyone with it, but here's the solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32156572#post32156572
First you're supposed to flash an official blob (either WW or US version,it doesn't matter), then proceed to download the corresponding JB update and you're good to go!
Notes;
You don't need to be unlocked but you need root and busy box installed
There's always a risk of bricking your device following anyone of these procedures
Remember to have your root backed up using Voodoo

The only problem with flashing a different SKU is that you'll never be able to receive OTA updates again...
If ASUS doesn't do anything about the update problem in the next few days, though, I'll switch anyway. I've tried re-flashing the TW .28 ROM, data wipe, rerooting and unrooting after backing up SU, and clearing DMClient and CMClient caches, all to no effect. I always end up with the "Failed to download the file" error.

Well... That's what came to mind but whenever an update comes someone would probably have it posted up on xda (mostly WW and US) and changing the SKU would just mean that we'd get better compatible support since the WW and US versions are more widespread
On a side note I got the dock update as soon as I docked my keyboard after 4.1 :fingers-crossed: so that doesn't completely rule out the possibility that we wouldn't be supported with anymore Asus updates

Thanks lineager. Unfortunately for me, my Prime started to download the OTA update hours earlier, and thinking based on other users' posts that OTA Root Keeper would be up to the task, I just let the regular update process proceed. Found out the hard way that it only could restore partial root. So I actually got punished for doing it the Asus way, instead of using dlpkgfile... I have seen the thread of restoring full root, but I don't have the knowledge to understand it. I'd just be parroting it step by step, hoping I didn't make a mistake...
Sucks because I pretty much need root to use apps like Facebook or Twitter here in China (because I need to use a VPN app to get around the Great Firewall). Ah well, at least I can use this dlpkgfile to help one of my Chinese Prime-owning friends.

You might be lucky like me if you used OTA Root Keeper before the update. I used the method described by member thenrz in his thread "For those with 'partial root after JB update - regain root!", and it worked fine (though I had a heart attack at step 18a, which turned out not to be necessary for my machine). Now my Prime is fully rooted and should still be able to receive any future OTA updates. I hope that method works for you.
What a tech nightmare this has been, though. Not only did it take me days to download the OTA update, I spent a whole day trying to get root back -- the thenrz method wasn't the first one I tried. I tried repeatedly to downgrade back to .28 so that I could root/backup and use the dlpkgfile, but always failed. My mind was blown when manually pushing files worked on my first try -- it was like Murphy's Law was being violated.
I was using Android's built-in VPN support last year, but the government started blocking the commonly used PPTP and L2TP protocols, and so I have been using a free VPN app (DroidVPN) for a year now. Thanks for reminding me though, I just checked and JB has some new VPN settings that I will give a try.

Here is a full update file for v9.4.2.11.1, courtesy of indiscriminant. It has a build date of a day later than the OTA 9.4.2.11. I don't know what is changed from v9.4.2.11. It apparently flashes, though, which means it's signed and legit.
Be warned that OTA Rootkeeper probably won't work if you update this way, and as of Jan 19, there is no new root method.
To use it:
1) Download US_epad-user-9.4.2.11.1-20120118-1535-UpdateLauncher.zip
2) Extract US_epad-user-9.4.2.11.1-20120118-1535-UpdateLauncher.zip to get US_epad-user-9.4.2.11.1.zip
3) Copy US_epad-user-9.4.2.11.1.zip to the root of the Prime's internal storage (as it appears to a PC; the real path being /mnt/sdcard/)
4) Disconnect from the PC/reboot the device and you should see the update notification in the lower-right-hand corner.

It seems to have a bunch of differences, as you can see in the contents link above.

Does anyone have ATGAdmins stock rooted ROM? Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590754
While spring cleaning my Prime a few weeks ago, I deleted the zip. Later on, I accidentally deleted my nandroid backup also. ATGAdmin has closed up shop on XDA and I cannot find the ROM anywhere else.
It was the stock .21 ROM rooted with super user and busy box..that's it. No mods, either performance wise or visual wise. If anyone has it or can tell me where to get it, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
if you want to run stock .21 just install like .15 or something, root it, use OTA rootkeeper, then do an OTA update to .21...
Only works with OTA updates tho, so if you cant do those then unfortunately this wont work.

Almost. From the Virtous thread: This is a pretty much stock build of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with tweaks and optimization's by the Virtuous Team.
That's what I didn't want. Because there are tweaks and optimizations, etc, some games don't work. Also, for some weird reason, a lot of people are claiming that the Prime is suddenly randomly rebooting recently. Someone said maybe a framework expired or something....idk.

Hey thanks a lot man. Hopefully someone has it. The way that I accidentally deleted my backup was because the backups are named by date, and I'm not sure if you can change the names, so I write the date of the backup down along with what ROM it is. Well I got mixed up somewhere (like 8 backups) and marked the stock ROM as something else, and later deleted it...thinking I was deleting an old AOKP. I'm afraid hardly anyone has it because it was just a plain stock ROM, just rooted with busybox and SU. So it wasn't very popular. I found another stock ROM I'm using now but it's the WW firmware and it bothers me. And the trackpad doesn't work. So thanks for the offer.
I'M STILL LOOKING FOR ATGADMINS STOCK ROM....EVERYONE! LINK IN FIRST POST!

I purchased my Asus Transformer Prime from eBay and it came with the boot loader unlocked (and not described as such) so I'm being forced into learning a little more than I'd like to.... ;-)
I was waiting for the update and wasn't getting it so I did some reading. Is it correct that since the boot loader is unlocked I won't get OTA updates? How do I install the update from the files provided above?
Thanks for your time, I appreciate the help!
I'm installing it now. Had some issues with CWM disappearing off my Prime, had to reinstall it and now I'm rolling.
I'll let you know how it goes.
ATTENTION
Anybody who has downloaded the US pre-rooted version. I added the su files to the image but forgot to set the permissions. I am currently rebuilding it with the corrected permissions. If you flash this version it will not hurt your device, but you will not have root by default. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Its telling me that your pre-rooted ROM isn't rooted.
edit : I guess that's why lol. Hope it gets fixed soon, wife is yelling at the kids working her way to me.

That is correct. No OTA update with an unlocked bootloader. The eBay seller misrepresented the item and you certainly have grounds to demand a refund if you're not happy about it. On the other hand life here (on the dark side) sure is wonderful. ;-)
Can't wait to get the stock pre rooted. Thanks for doing this mate.

US pre-rooted is back up and it should have to correct permissions this time.
Thank you for your work on this. Much appreciated.
Got it figured out. Thanks, sparkym3.

Thanks for doing the WW version. I am waiting patiently for the rooted version even though I could probably just flash it and then flash superuser apk and binary. I will wait....
Friend, now that our tab is finally rooted.. thanks again to all who did this for us
Now, anybody have tried to downgrade to honeycomb after rooting?
How was the procedure, simple or tricky?
PS Procedure is suggested by Cat McGowan here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31723451&postcount=194
I tried but when I boot in recovery It sais E: /sdcard failed to mount can't found such directory
and when I put an SD card in it sais E:/sdcard failed to mount invalid argument
So don't know what to do?

Xperia tab??? There is no honeycomb update for them, correct? It may be possible to use AIO to change to a org tab s region. However this has not been confirmed to work. May brick device from changing region.zip though

OH, just thought you were new here lol. Look in dev for AIO tool, downgrading has been around for 6 months lol. Use version 4.0 not version 4.1 (bit buggy) check out my old FAQ in signature for details, Which is where Cat McGowan redirected you, Piece of piss really, can't mess it up, semi-automated.
Cheers

There is no India 3.2.(1) anymore, removed from Sony servers. Change region to US (WIFI ONLY). Then you can downgrade to 3.2(1). Then you could change back to India. Use AIO too custom update to Downgrade to 3.2.1 with root (to be safe) even though the US 3.2.1 online here is rootable with the old method.
Good luck
Stifilz
Okay bro, i will try by changing region.
Bro, with AIO how can i get the pre-rooted version of 3.2.1, where i can i download prerooted 3.2.1. files? sorry for asking too noobish question bro

Run aio, change region > 25 > 1 for 16gb, 2 for 32
Download from my update links in signature, scroll down to US and download, copy to external sd card
Run AIO, 3 > 1 > hold vol up and turn on tab while still holding up, > let update run, when it stops AIO says select update, on tab choose update 0042 (you downloaded) > on pc y
Follow screen prompt, tahdah lol
Stifilz
Perfect, i'll try that soon.
PS i was thinking why i am downgrading to HC? lol
Actually i am just having microphone issue after ICS update, and i have heard its not in honeycomb?
What else, what are the benifits of HC over ICS

Downgrade to Honeycomb is VERY EASY
crack the ver num in prop files
then flash stock 3.2.1 rom by sd card
every thing will be done in 10 mins
but since you have not 3.2.1 rom of your regain, change regain is need
some good of 3.2.1
battery is more long life
more app and game
better ui
I somehow managed to downgrade to HC from link proved by condi in his all in one topic but it (hc) turned out to be kernal 10 which is unrootable
how can i root this baby now?
i think i need to upgrade first to r2 update then it will change the kernal so i can root it.

You will be very lucky to find that file. You should go up to ICS then preroot the HC update and then flash using AIO.
Hence giving you HC rooted.
Stifilz
THAT 3.2.1 rom is not easy to find
suggest you upgrade to 4.0.3 use ota
root it
then change to us 3.2.1 r2 rom,(Or china rom,i have it
last root it again
PS:not all ver#10 HC is un-root able!,my china 3.2.1 r2 is rooted by aio!
Yea bro, i have again upgraded to ICS but not with ota.. but downloading req file from stifilz bro's update thread. It all went just fine.
Yesterday, rooted it too. All well right now.
Now regarding HC, i have few doubts in mind. Can you guys please suggest:
-I have not yet understood how to install HC that is with kernal 10 which is rootable. stifilz suggested to install with aio to get the root on HC but i don't really get the steps. Can you please elaborate how to install HC and get it rooted step by step?
-In ICS, there is patch in aio to make it enable "Use sd card 2 as USB storage ", is there something available like this in HC?
-I sometime get microphone issue on ICS, has somebody else face similar issue and on HC microphone work well?
Thanks again guys for your help

normal HC is rootable, just use aio, make sure ver is 3.2.1,not 3.2
by now, only china #10 version is rootable,i 'am lucky chinese
maybe u can make a pre-root hc rom by aio, just like pre-root ics (just in theory)
-In ICS, there is patch in aio to make it enable "Use sd card 2 as USB storage ", is there something available like this in HC?
USB storage is ics ONLY
-I sometime get microphone issue on ICS, has somebody else face similar issue and on HC microphone work well?
i'am no care about that
go go go,DIYER:laugh:
Okay... this continues the tradition of my previous, the Knox-disabled, rooted, deodexed Sprint NJL stock ROM.
This thread will either 1) give you a deodexed NK1 if you're already on NK1, or 2) upgrade you from NJL to NK1 (baseband and boot) and provide you with a deodexed NK1 ROM.
Terms, Conditions, and Background
Please consider the following carefully before proceeding with anything in this post:
--I still have no idea what I'm doing
--I have never done any dev work other than the NJL ROM, and I really don't consider that "dev"
--I only did this because no one else has done it
--Installing/flashing anything herein may brick or otherwise destroy/render your device useless
--By proceeding, you hold me completely harmless and it's all on you!
If you're currently on NJL, start on step 1. If you're already on NK1, go to step 2
Preparation: Do at least one full nandroid (including everything but cache) onto your microSD. TWRP or CWM is okay.
Step 1:
1.1 Download the factory NK1 ROM (link below) and Odin the package. This is the full factory NK1, which means it contains the factory recovery, modem, system, bootloader etc. It will essentially reset your device to factory (without wiping the /data partition, so all your installed app and data will still be there). You will lose root. When you complete this step, your modem and bootloader will also be on NK1.
This is a zipped file. You need to unzip to get the tar file for Odin. The extension will be .tar.md5.
Download Link
1.2 Follow these instructions here to regain root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
Step 2:
2.1 Download and flash the deodexed NK1/Knox disabled zip, be sure to verify the MD5
Download Link
MD5 Link
2.2 Clear dalvik and cache
2.3 IF you came from Step 1, I recommend the following:
--Wipe the data partition
--Restore the data partition from the backup you made during the preparation phase
Why? In case things got tweaked somewhere along the way. This way, you have a fresh boot using the known good data backup with your new deodexed NK1 /system
-------
This ROM DOES NOT wipe the data partition.
This ROM comes with the international Note Edge boot graphics (credit to TEKHD)
This ROM already has the SD card write fix flashed to it (credit to TEKHD)
I made no other modifications
Credit to jovy23 -- I used his META-INF from Note 4.
-------
If you're using Xposed, S-Health and Private Mode will not work. This is not a problem specific to this ROM, but a compatibility issue between Samsung's private storage and Xposed.
Workaround:
Either use Wanam to disable Secure Storage or XSecureStorage (http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.xshealth) and S-Health should work.....
-------
Afterthoughts
--Please hit/say "Thanks" if you deem appropriate
--Please be nice. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm only sharing in case someone else want the same I do.
--If you can contribute and help improve this, I'm all ears.
--Please do not mirror, repost, or otherwise share without my permission.
--In case you're wondering, I wanted deodexed because it gives way to theming/customization. I also thought I read that Xposed requires deodexed in some cases.
--Did I miss anything?
Will download and give this a run once I get my recovery performing properly.
Just wanted to make sure before performing: This will trip Knox. Sorry for being a noob.

I'm on stock NK1. Just added root a while ago. Flashing this be any different? And would I have to wipe data or just cache and dalvik cache?

Just flash as any zip, and wipe cache and dalvik only (the flash will do that also). No need to wipe data. I've dirty flashed many times with no issues. Cheers.
Just flashed. Running great so far. Thanks again. Can't wait for a custom ROM for the Sprint Edge. Look's like T-Mobile has one already :-/
how about n915k
hey snowman will any of your roms work on n915K variant, if not would you please compile one for us the unfortunate K users because no one else seems to care?

I do not believe that the "T" and "P" variant ROMs will work with the "K". However, if there is enough interest, I can compile a K version. I have since worked out the zipalign process, so anything I release after will be zipaligned also.....
K owners matter (or do we)

mate, I know that S/K are both Korean variants however "S" is no good for "K" users so we would appreciate if any one of you genius devs also take in to account the K users when you seed your valuable roms.
As a compliment you:ll get a huge thanks from us considering the potential exponential growth in K owners (eventually I guess)
cheers.
ps. zipalinging is cool and deodexed is cooler .
