Hi to all,
here I have a problem with my dell streak 5 without expret I erase DATA partion, then he died and after repair it with JTAG currently recognize any sim card
esqu'il is a possibility to rewrite DATA partion or I read that Rift does not rewrite the partion sim_secure esque I can only please reporgramme its helped me
we must also know the service tag on my dell 0000000 and displayed under the battery cover is ecri serice tag with the number
I apologize for my English
How did you erase that partition? Did you did it by fastboot command?
JTag will make streak just a tablet without sim card so no phone obviously and i think this can't be reverted as before

yes I erase this partition with fastboot command
JTAG will revive the Streak, but renders it useless as a phone. There is no way known to restore phone capability.
As I'm sure you've already guessed, this outcome could have been prevented with a little reading.

if that is true.. your streak can no longer make phone call.. just a standard wifi tablet...
As for RIFF(JTag) resurrection method, it is important to say that RIFF DOES NOT rewrite "SIM_Secure" partition. This partition contains security data, hence it is not advisable to touch it.
Service TAG and some other things might be located in different partitions, which is also not touched by RIFF, but could be damaged by ingenious procedure invented by hundreds of "smart" people all over the world.
You cannot clone SIM_Secure partition, hence writing full backup wont do any good.
JTag
when I put in fastboot I get this message: default nv checked # 3
What is this message !!!
technical support dell not give me the possibility to rewrite the partition sim_secure
Only if you send it in dell service but its expensive, maybe buy a streak with broken screen and replace the mobo, or buy a new mobo.
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda app-developers app
at this point we can not write the data partion?? this is not his normal erase erase and then we can rewrite the data partion you just delete it?
I think it y 'file boot.img system.img and data.img and normally
but I find nothing any link on internet works
more I have this error message when I put the fastboot.
QDL Tool and it shows me:
Check image OSBL: C:\Streak\QDLTool3rd_20101022_GAUSB1A130500\images \osbl.mbn
ERROR: Download fail!
please can you give me the file its
amss-system-boot.zip
I think not: (
The Default NV Checked error has nothing to do with JTAG. All that happened there is the internal memory space wasn't initialized. You can resolve it with a reboot.
_2bad4u_ is absolutely correct here in that the only way to restore phone capability is to purchase a Streak with a broken screen and replace the motherboard. This Streak will not make calls, and Dell will not provide you with the software to rewrite the secure partition. There is absolutely no software currently available to an end user that will correct this. Dell will provide service, but it will be hideously expensive as the Streak will be out of warranty.
Other than replacing the motherboard, you're out of luck. And replacing the motherboard might not be a bad idea if you're having issues with WiFi connectivity.

hi to all,
I wanted to ask you if I get a flash are all these were going its going to solve my problem !!!
As you can see, all the partitions are deleted, reset, then flashed.
For information, here is the list of partitions flashed:
partition Dbl
FSBL
NPO
Amss
DSP1
DT
Appsbl
boot
System
userdata
Recovery
LogFilter
rcfile
this is what I found on a French forum:
Unlock Bricke streak, even if the operating system fails to boot, the recovery is more accessible, more affordable fastboot, etc, etc ... By feeding data directly ALL partitions on the NAND with QDL Tools (New version of Repair Pack!)
http://www.mediafire.com/?u595mbq5biqee9b
The section in question is not user accessible for a reason. That reason is simply because then the Streak could have its IMEI cloned, which is generally illegal. Sorry, but neither flashing nor the QDL tool will help, as they don't touch this section of the innards.

what rom is currently installed? you could try reinstalling with 351/latest to make sure all the firmware files are in sync.
Have you tried doing a read on a good streak to make sure the data loaded though jtag was good?
(I dont have any actual exprience jatagging, i assume you can do reads though it just like you can do writes)

I have the same problem after my Riff JTAG around 3-4 days back. I have the unlock Code but it's not prompting me to input one. My Service Tag Number has also gone 000000.
(I am not sure if Streak Unlocker will be able to unlock my phone and therefore not paid $29 yet though the test shows it can. But then Test was showing it can unlock by phone even when it was already unlocked.)
I guess JTAG has somehow re-written the BIOS and not sure what to do next. I have tried Stock ROMs but still not getting the prompt to put unlock code. I am considering to get the JTAG done again and get everything written properly or try Streak Unlocker after paying $29.
There must be a way to put the unlock Code in Engineering mode or by keying in some number like *#123UNLOCK321#* or find & write the code manually. If streak unlocker can do it there must be way to do it manually too.
Well the streak has to store some special data somewhere, stuff like the service tag among them.
If you can get your hands on a couple of working, stock streaks, you might want to consider trying to dump that data and seeing what's shared among all streaks what what is unique. Very least it might give you a clue on why yours isnt working/displays no service tag

If some one has a better or rather a more practical idea..Please help. Getting couple of Streaks is almost impossible here (India) and further getting them on Stock ROM will be equally impossible at most of the places (how many ppl you find around.... having a streak?)

I am really SAD for you. my mobile still with my friend and so far I do not know what is the status (I am just waiting ). Have you done a full backup before it got bricked. If so, try full restore (This what I asked my friend to do).
Same Problem!!
I had the same problem with my DS. It shows a message Default NV selected #3 while loading in fastboot mode. so i guess something went wrong while setting the default NV to 3??.
Valid SIM card is no longer detected and gives notification saying No SIM Card.
It was a factory unlocked phone and was bricked last month by the command fastboot -w.
since this command erased the user data from somewhere inside the phone(either Internal SD card or the ROM), there should be some ways to re-write those data to those locations.
If any one is familiar to develop some kinda application that can write to those locations then pleaseeeeeeeeee try this out for us.. we can root the device if needed..
If anyone with same problem has got any solutions then please do share with me too..
my email address is : [email protected]
Thanks in advance
JTAGging the Streak is the only way to revive a Streak that has been hit with a fastboot -w. And as you have seen from the rest of the thread it's very likely the Streak will never be able to make calls again after recovery. There are multiple other users in the forum dealing with bricked Streaks, and out of all of them, I believe only one was able to restore phone capability.
Changing MicroSD cards and/or ROMs won't help because the affected area is in the Streak's BIOS (for lack of a better term). The service tag and SIM card low-level interface firmware are stored in the BIOS.
There gotta be a way out of it!!
Hi eveyone!
Now i ended up to a dell streak tablet(was phone) after i did the "fastboot -w" .
The guys from dell mailed me yesterday that they can recover it but would cost me 179.9 pounds(Which i bought for 200 pounds). Is that fair?? to charge 179 for repairing a phone that can be bought at 200?? So i decided not to send to the dell store for repair.
Since i am not an expert I am not sure about this ,But i think there is a way out of this problem, I mean if "fastboot -w" command erases the data from "god knows which location" then there can be a command like "fastboot -wr location data_to_be_copied" which simply copies some thing that is missing due to fastboot -wr command??
Is there anyone who can Reverse Engineer the fastboot and figure out from where the data was deleted and what was deleted and the way to restore those data there???
Thanks in advance to those who would analyze the fastboot and its data flow and try to help coz there are lot of people waiting for this..
We have 8 nand partitions (/dev/block/mtdblock0-7)
One is for kernel boot image, other might contain system, bb, firstboot and other stuff.
Maybe the answer is there?
Fastboot -w/erase likely corrupts the partition table on the innerSD,
seeing as it was prob due to dell never updating their fastboot loader to take it into account. (The Venue doesnt have this issue as it doesnt have an innerSD).
You can fix it by either restoring it to a known good image (there's a thread on the main subforum) or by manually repartitioning your innerSD.
You will need to disassemble your S5 to do it (regardless of who does it) and a pc with a SD/microSD port then just reimage it, it's not very difficult besides the disassembling part.
The firmwares are on the nand, but we cant read to it, and the only way to (safely) write to it is the stock rec.
I've got a Motorola Atrix 4G on 2.3.6, with 4.5.141
I used this method to unlock my Atrix's bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871.
At first all my files appeared as corrupted and could not be viewed, but they were all there.
Then remembered I had data encryption turned on, now I can't access the backup I made with mybackup app, nor access the internal storage's photos and documents.
I've read somewhere that the Razr would decrypt the data with the PIN, I've set the same passwords, tried enabling and disabling the encryption but had no luck...
I was wondering if there was a way to make the phone decrypt it and restore my backup...
I've found little to no info on this, but I can't be the only one with this problem...

Mine says unlocked, the problem is I made a backup that got encrypted by the system and I fear the key used to encrypt it got deleted, maybe if I search with a data recovery program(I would need the name of the key) so I can replace it and let the system decrypt it like before...
Mine does not have any visible lights at the bottom of the screen, don't think the atrix got them.
Maybe I'll buy an HTC One X and drop this...But I want my data back!

Isn't factory reset supposed to delete everything?
I want to decrypt my data, so I can see my photos, documents and backup, does factory reset enables the normal usage of original files?
I need to keep my data intact, so deleting it won't help me get it back.
I've found an interesting information on encryption on Motorla Razr: forums.motorola.com/posts/b027ce4327
But unfortunately it is bad news, and something I hope is not the case in the Atrix...
I've used a data recovery program: Testdisk
And found a lot of files with criptokey extension...If the encryption is based on a key per file, I'll just drop the phone in boiling water, or sell it...
Other thought is that the key is somehow related to the bootloader...It would be good if I could roll back to the original bootloader...Or even use my time machine and stop myself from encrypting my precious data...
I need help on how encryption is implemented on Atrix!
Found an interesting document:
developer.motorola.com/docs/using_the_advanced_encryption_standard_in_android
The problem is that it's app related...
I was wondering, if the Atrix uses the fingerprint to generate the key used to encrypt...
No one knows anything of Atrix's data encryption system?
Maybe it's not AES256...
developer.motorola.com/docs/writing-fingerprint-enabled-apps/
This means that the fingerprint does truly participate in key generation, also that the key will never be the same due to fingerprint images stored will never be the same, meaning that its impossible to re-generate the same key.
Unfortunately this does not talk about location of generated key, nor the name of the key or any useful details about encryption...
Hope is fading away, maybe I should just format everything...Why did I unlock bootloader...Damn app2sd!

Oh, you must be talking about the "Atrix HD" with encrypted bootloader.
Then you're in the wrong forum, this is about the "Atrix 4G", the first version of the Atrix, which can be unlocked.
The only suggestion I got for you is to try to restore the bootloader, or wait forever till they release a way to unlock it...

There have only been a couple of reports of this "new" unlockable bootloader. Given the number of posts we see from people who have not successfully unlocked their bootloader via proven methods and have then unlocked once they have asked for help, I am inclined to believe that there is no new unlockable bootloader, and that there are instead issues with failed unlocks which people are putting down to a new bootloader rather than what could quite possible be just plain old "operator error"! Seems there was an initial few threads on various forums by the same people which has transpired into this theory. I dunno.............but I find it hard to believe that a chosen few are receiving a new bootloader on an old phone model when so many are returning phones daily and receiving repaired phones which are then summarily unlocked again.

Here is my problem: All of my Atrix's backup files are ENCRYPTED, including all the photos I've taken and all the documents I've written in it...
It happened because I unlocked the bootloader without knowing that Data Encryption was turned on...
I guess the master key got destroyed and a new one was made...Making it impossible to decrypt the old files...Just like encryption on Blackberry devices

Hi there,
oh boy...
You're screwed up. You formatted the bootloader partition of your phone. This can only be repaired with atf box.
Sorry.
which, by the way, you do not want to do yourself.
Take it to a place - if possible - where they have ATF box and skills to use it.
another way is replace your phone main board. check out on ebay. sorry.
Please upload this tool if you have it so i can fix my phone .. at this point t-mobile, metro pcs and god knows what they all were able not only to fix their phone but install the unlocked rom without the bloatware .. Honestly i don't get why OP refuses to release this .. or maybe they have but its not posted here ..
So if you bought your phone from oneplus.com and have the unbricking tool .. please upload it or tell me how you managed to fix your phone
Contact OnePlus support, and request a remote session to repair your phone.
If they set one up, they'll send you a link to download the MSMDownload Tools ahead of time.
So far everyone with unlocked version has been told to mail their phone in, rather than doing the remote session. Once someone gets the remote session, they'll be able to upload the MSMDownload Tools.

Also waiting for an ops for the unlocked variant - I have a theory that converts between variants without unlocking BL, but without the ops it can't be verified.
I believe One Plus is not releasing their MSM tool specifically because it could be used to convert variants to unlocked / retail. They have refused multiple board members, myself included, to utilize the tool to remotely fix broken devices.

Bootloader is locked so fastboot is not an option ..
Do you have the unlock code bin file?
If so do the following, because booting in fastboot itself will give you an error saying you cannot unlock the bootloader, you most boot into recovery, fastboot is not recovery it's considered the master recovery Incase if the Android recovery fails or you flashed the wrong file to the wrong partition.

Your phone comes preloaded with an emergency boot chip called Qualcomm download mode. Use the TMobile msm tool to flash your device back to factory, then you can essentially do what you need. To get back to oem.

How possible would it be to change a slot from A to B using an edl tool like https://github.com/bkerler/edl ? How would this be used? or, for example, what command should be used? Are there any other methods of application? just including an EDL method? Because simply stating android has two slots one may be bricked and deleted of info and another may have a working slot and yes (I am ware fastboot can do this) but this is for those who cannot access it on a certain slot.

If you're asking specifically about the 10T the answer is no. Authentication is required to use EDL on this device and bkerler's implementation doesn't support this kind of authentication. However, if you had a device with unprotected EDL mode you could theoretically alter the current slot if it's saved on a disk partition.

If you're asking specifically about the 10T the answer is no. Authentication is required to use EDL on this device and bkerler's implementation doesn't support this kind of authentication. I see. So, in other words, it is simply impossible for any user to obtain it without authentication, which sucks a lot. It's unfortunate to see such a dependable company resort to this, even though they claim to be very user-friendly. can't argue with their pricing though, it was never about pricing for me. It was always about "if you break it, you can fix it in a single click, but all that has changed. thank you for your support.

I've used this tool on phones like the Oneplus 7t, motorola g8 power, LG velvet and 7Pro, as well as other msm tools, and I'm very intimately acquainted with 9008 I understand how to utilize it. I was only inquiring if it could be used on the 10t.
Which slot is active is saved in the misc partition, beyond the usual reboot command.
I've not yet had an A/B device, so I can't say more.
With non-A/B you can erase the misc partition without a problem.
I don't know how bad it would be if you erased misc on an A/B.
I presume that it would default to A?

well.. you'd think that would happen because it's the most logical way to put it, but in my experience, whenever the partition is erased, it always stays on the slot, leaving the overall device bricked sadly, or depending on what in the misc is erased, you may just be lucky to get boot loops or booted into a constant bootloader, which can fortunately be solved by fastboot enhanced. at least for oneplus devices and by fast boot you can just simply switch to the desired working slot.
