Help urgent :( - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello, i was running cm7 on my phone and decided i wanted to switch to nottatrix
i put the files on my external sd card and went into recovery did a factory wipe and then a cache wipe and then a dalvik cache wipe
then i accidently managed to click partition internal sd to 128mb while trying to get back to the main menu
i then rebooted into recovery to try and install my files for the new rom and it says no files found anywhere
i then tried to reboot into my backup i did yesterday and it says there is no backup?
iv turned the phone off to save the battery please help me i dont know what too do?
would this work? put sd card in card reader put rom back on it then install from recovery?
also can someone explain what partitioning does and why all my files have been deleted from my sd card ?

When you lift the partition on a file system....it is erased. Your files are gone.....hard lesson learned.

[Q] How to access internal sd using Recovery 2e

My actual problem is that I have installed STOCK JFD to try to reset my phone, because Its giving to me a lot of problems.
Right now it is in a boot loop. And I want to install ClockWork to reset dalvik, cache and factory.
I have putted the update.zip to install the recovery to my external SD CARD. But apparently it need to be in the internal SD CARD.
How I can add files to that sd card using original recovery 2e?
I really need this, I don't know what to do with the phone.

How I can reformat it If I have the original recovery... I don't have ClockWorkMod.
Im triying to access internal sd using ADB...
adb push update.zip /sdcard
Still no luck...
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb push update.zip /sdcard
failed to copy 'update.zip' to '/sdcard/update.zip': Permission denied

I Broke it

I tried to root my phone. I got the Superuser on. I got clockwork recovery on. Then I tried to install a Rom. The rom said it had an error with the status bar. What I read on some of the forums said wipe and reinstall. I figured well if the the wipe is good. I'll just delete the partations. So I've deleted the partations and re-formated the partions. I can get into the recovery console but it doesn't see the SD card so I can't load the rom. When it boots normally it just comes up to a galaxy screen and hangs. Obviously because the file system is gone.
It's a Galaxy S 2 by sprint. What can I do?
Format your SD card with your PC, place some roms on it, re-insert it in your device, do a full wipe of data and cache, then flash a different rom of your choice.
sd card
So I have copied roms to my sd card but it says there is no files on the SD card. I have go into clockwork and turn on the USB storage and copied the rom there as well. But still no joy.

Make sure the files are in "zip" format (.zip after the filename).

Formatted SD before flashing ROM in CWM

Tried to replace one custom rom with another using CWM. But instead of formatting sd-ext (after formatting all else too obv), I formatted sd card. Now when I turn phone on I get "android" in the middle of the screen and nothing else happens obviously :S.
How should I proceed?
edit: figured out how to enter CWM again to flash a rom, but how do I put rom onto SD card as my computer doesnt recognise phone
edit2: figured it out! had to choose mount storage in CWM!
wohoo!!
Or you can just use a card reader

[Q] how to delete all files that have accumulated from flashing custom roms

I want to remove files that have accumulated from other roms. In others words like stock, but with custom rom. I like Beanstown106 with SD swap.
Thats a little tricky with sd swap but you will have to painstakingly go file by file and see if it's something you have deleted to something that you are still using. If you have any apps that created a folder and are gone for good then you are safe to delete. But avoid any system app folders and anything that you are still using like pictures, music and so on avoid.

from recovery, format internal and external sd. that will wipe everything out completely.
I did consider formating from recovery. I'm just scare of deleting the OS and my phone ending up being useless. I did research and what I read it won't. Any advise is welcome THX to everyone.

How would it end up being useless? Its no different than a pc...your reformatting and installing the OS on a clean slate.
I was thinking if I formated the internal it would delete recovery as well. And had no way of installing a new rom. Thx again really help full.

I want to clean up my directory structure. If I format the internal and external sd using recovery (TWRP) to wipe everything, what rom will boot? Will my custom rom boot or will the original verizon rom boot? Will I have to unlock the bootloader again? Thanks.

you will lose all data and need to reflash the rom in recovery...no you will not have to unlock again, nothing performed from recovery will overwrite the boot.img.
I was scared of the losing my OS as well, but it's not that hard. Treat it as two steps. Formatting your sDCard, and then prepping your SdCard by doing a Nandroid backup to your SdCard, and copying a flashable ROM (and kernel if your ROM does not flash a kernel) to your SdCard. Before formatting your SdCard copy anything you want to keep to your computer. I just copy the whole card to my computer.
Reboot and do your data resets and wipes, including internal storage (format data in twrp) Then flash your ROM that you put on your ext SdCard. Your nandroid backup is your insurance. Worst case you boot into recovery and restore your backup.
(But you should still have a working toolkit or ADB on your computer and you can recover from any screw up)
As long as you have what you need on your (ext) SdCard before wiping internal storage, and you only do a data reset and cache wipes and only do 'format data' you will be fine.

[q] help! Bootloop and can't mount external sdcard!

Guys! Need help! I'M DESPERATED!
I was using Resurrection ROM with Googy Kernel, but i wanted to give a try to Angi kernel.
I downloaded the cm kernel, reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik and flash. So then I get a bootloop. I think: Okey, chill. I flash again Googy kernel and no problem. I went to flash the kernel that I have it on my external storage... what happened? My external sd card CANT BE MOUNTED!
So? I panic!
What should I do? I have nothing on my internal storage. My nanodroids backups are in my external storage.
HEEEELPPP!??!? Can I use ODIN to flash the ROM again? Or should I flash a STOCK Firmware first? Where can I get a stock fw with recovery? Please I'm going crazy! It's my phone dead?
PD: sorry if my poor english.
Put your sd card into your pc, check it works -save data then format it and load nandroid. Replace it in phone and restore.
If the sd card won't work in your pc then throw it away.

was your sdcard encrypted before you changed kernel?
always make sure, when you're flashing, to: 1a. have plenty of time 1b. backup everything

No, no encryption.
I'll post with any changes.
Thanks for helping!
SOLVED!
Formatting wouldn't solve recognizing de sd card. Could not mount it. But if i choose advance external storage restore I was able to see the files. So I restore only the boot and I recover mi ROM.
Thnks again for helping!
