[Q]Relocking Xperia Sola - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

How can i truly understand that my Xperia Sola is really relocked. Last night i could not update my phone into 4.0 with Sony update service neither pc companion nor Update Center app in the phone. Then i thought my phone is still unlocked although i flashed the key file several times via flashboot. Then i had to flash indian ics stock but feel wrong about it. I want to get stock for my country.
So, how can i handle this issue and how can i get the official ICS for my country. (It is officially released here)

1)Unlock bootloader
2)Root your device
3)Change the SI code to your country and variant
4)Relock bootloader
5)Repair via SEUS or PC Companion
Note :- SI Code gives the SEUS/PC Companion which country and which variant to download

If that seems tricky then flash it with ICS ftf files available in development section for Sola and it should work fine and you will get ICS

Official ICS update is available for Xperia U (ST25i)

Judging by this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916419
Many people are trying to flash ST25a firmware just to get the ICS update.
However if you are in Europe and have the ST25i model you can get the official update via PC companion. It doesnt tell you via OTA but when you connect the phone to pc companion you will be notified of the available update.
Hope this saves quite a few people from flashing the wrong firmware as many were having issues with it.

It might not be available in your area yet.
I live in South Africa and I always get the update late
if you want the update, what I do is just flash the ftf
Th Xperia P JB ftf can be downloaded here

Nope, Flashing with Flashtools doesn't require bootloader unlocking or Rooting.

[Q] Can't get JB update on Xperia P!

Hi,
I own and Xperia P LT22i. For some reason, my device didn't notify me about the JB update however it seems that everyone got it. I tried system repair and checking the software update from computer and mobile multiple time. How to get the official JB without installing a custom rom?
U don't need to install any custom roms
Just flash the ftf (original Firmware) by flashtool

Hi,
Me too facing the same issue. My PC companion is up-to-date, which says you've latest Android but still have ICS.
Is there any possibility to find out which (region) my Xperia P phone belongs to ? (I purchased via online)
Is Flashing JB is allowed ? (Will Sony support after flashing JB ?)
FYI: My SI 1262-0496 (UK after googling)
Thanks,

I solved my problem and upgraded to the official JB using PC companion. You can get your device upgraded by following these steps:
- Root your device using the Flashtool (you will find it here in the forum)
- Using the root explorer in the ES file, change the file /system/build.prop file as mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249238
- Restart and check updates. You will get a notification that JB update is available for your device.
Best,

[Q] Mini Pro SK17i no ICS upgrade?

Hi... I just bought a brand new Mini Pro, and it came with 2.3 GB Android. I went to software update and it updated to 4.0.2.A.0.62 - but it's still 2.3.4. GingerBread! I tried with PC Companion, it says I have the latest software... how do I get stock ICS?
Thank you in advance
Try Sony Update service
If that doesn't work either, use flashtool and flash the stock ics rom

Thanks for the quick reply. Sony Update service just informed me that I have the latest software, just like OTA and PC Companion. I then tried with flashtool and 4.1.B.0.431 firmware, which worked after a couple of tries It seems that new phones are not recognized for automatic update to ICS, so it has to be done manually.

Yeah, no problem with that... but I noticed something very strange when I removed the battery... my brand new sk17i, bought in june 2013. has 11W37 manufacturing week label! So, either those numbers are not what they seem to be (year W week), or the importer got some cheap, old, recalled, forgotten-in-the-warehouse, first batch units. I checked the manufacturing date because the famous chirping and static clicking sounds are there, I thought that problem was solved with the new units (I used to have mini pro some time last year). Now I know...

[Q] Z2 firmware upgrade

Hi All!
I have a T-Mobile version of Z2. If I flash the unlocked firmware version will I receive OTA updates for this? Or Sony checks my IMEI and give me update acorrdingly? I want to rid all of the T-Mobile bloatwares
Thanks!
Hi,
there are two ways to get rid of this:
1st install any official Rom via Flashtool (so your warranty isn't broken).
2nd way is to root device and just change the customer ID then you get the official Sony Firmare via Sony Update Service.
Via Flashtool you've got the option to flash back the T-Mobile Firmware.
Greets,

Thanks! So, if I understand correctly if I flash the official unlocked ROM via Flashtool, after that when a new update comes in OTA I will get the T-Mobile version because the phone's customer ID?
Anyone else
If you update with an OTA on an unlocked bootloader you will brick your device for sure so dont do it, just flash stock kernel and relock your bootloader and then you can update with an OTA.
Hope this is enough info.

I'm talking about locked bootloader, but network unlocked. I bought my phone from T-Mobile, but with SIM unlocked and I think I will get the general firmware earlier than T-Mobile version, plus bloatfree.
Flash Generic FTF and all updates you receive via OTA will be for that Generic FTF, no T-Mobile stuff will be installed it if via OTA if you have network free firmware.
Hope that helps you
I am on T mobile Croatia. I flashed inernational rom with flashtool, after that i got 4.4.4 OTA same day it was released. No root, no unlocked bootloader.
