Hi,
my girlfrend has a HTC Legend and some time ago I flashed her phone with CM7, don't remember exactly the steeps but it was a very long procedure (something with gold card, ruu, etc...). It was also rooted.
Now her phone started to crash on opening any application and now it doesn't boot anymore, it is stuck on CM7 spinning boot logo...
I don't know what to do, I have a Galaxy S2 where I can boot in recovery mode and wipe cache, dalvik or install new ROM.
Here what I managed to do is to start the phone with Volume Down + Trackball + Power into a menu (it say HBoot 1.01) but here I don't know what to do .
Please help !
Thank you.

When you are in the bootloader menu use the vol-down / vol-up-buttons and go to recovery, then press power. You see a red triangle. Then press vol + and the power button. You are now in the blue recovery menu. Goto wipe data/factory reset and then to wipe cache partition.
Then you can reboot.
Good lock!

i was playing around with the developer options in my samsung galaxy s2 i9100 running cm10.1. suddenly my phone stopped responding when i selected the "Simulate secondary displays" option. it boots up fine but gets stuck at the "android is upgrading" part.
i know that factory reset in recovery will solve the problem. is there any other alternative so that i dont lose my data????
any help is appreciated!!!!!
try cleaning cache and dalvik cache from recovery. this will wipe last operation without deleting and data.
shut off phone.
Press Volume up + home key + Power to reboot into recovery.\
scroll down to cache, enter and say yes.
then go to advanced - dalvis chache -enter -say yes
then click go back until you reach the first screen and then click reboot system.
tried that already not working. i think the last setting was saved...

Reflash CM10.1, if it won't help, you will need to do a nandroid backup and then factory reset.
had no other choice... nandroid backup>factory reset>reinstall apps+data using titanium backup

flash in fastboot with ADB commands
Hi,
as title says i'm stuck at android system recovery 3e. All I did was turning on the phone and it went straight into this recovery and stuck there. I tried all of the options there (apply update from cache, wipe cache partition, wipe data/factory reset,...) but nothing changed. I've searched and read forums about it and they suggested to go into download mode by pressing volume down button + camera button + power button and then use program called Odin. The problem is that i'm using Atheros XP7400 mobile phone and i have only volume down/up button and power button.
Any ideas how can I get into download mode?
Thanks for answers

Can you boot into recovery? If able to, perform a wipe data/factory reset.

Recovery is power+BOTH volume buttons. For next time, always choose "Normal" when updating SuperSU binaries.
@rkgarg2000,
I'm not on here as often anymore. Sorry I missed your response and pm.
Did you get the issue resolved? As Steve says, hold down all three of vol up, vol down, and power buttons to enter recovery. Once in recovery, perform a wipe data/factory reset. Let us know if you have additional issues, or if that does not solve the problem.
My phone is getting progressively slower in the last year and one suggestion was to do a cache partition wipe by booting into recovery mode. I tried holding the Vol Up + Power buttons to turn on the phone but there is no indication that it entered recovery mode. If I continue to hold both buttons, it seems to turn off again. Any suggestions. Thanks.

After a several tries, I did bring up the little green Android man, but nothing else happens. The text in the middle of the screen says "No Command".
Ok, I did boot into the recovery mode, but there is no "Wipe cach partition" options. Only "Wipe data/factory reset", followed by Mount /system, which is not what I want. Is the wipe cache option no longer available on Android 10?
Make sure your phone is connected to a cable
Yes, I did. That seems to be the only way to get into the recovery mode. However, I did some search and found that since Android 9, Android no longer use "cache partition", thus no cache partition to wipe. Is this true? Here is one of the links:
