this is pacman rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892040
paranoid android+ AOPK +Cyanogen mod
is it possible to port or make something like that for our device?
thanx
i agree it would be very nice to run this on my phone
it will be great to have this rom in our phone, but, you really think this rom can work on our little phone???
Great rom, but need dev's to port :/
come on, that rom is for device with more "power" than or x10 mimmi, don't think that something like that would run smoothly in our phones...
From ARMv7 to ARMv6? Probably it's very difficult, rather too difficult to one of developers take this work.
You can yes or not

Before the galaxy s? Is there any hope for a pure gingerbread and it looks like the evo is off and running with it smooth as butter with a minor hitch with gps issues... not sure how that works, the galaxy s and nexus s are almost identical hardware wise.

Looks like a lot of their roms are AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based. This means they can take the direct source of Android and modify their roms to the Evo hardware. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe anyone has built a good solid working rom for the Vibrant off of the AOSP source alone. We've been getting builds leaked from Samsung and modifying them to build the Vibrant roms you see now. I believe Team Whiskey is working on a AOSP rom and Cyanogen Mod is an AOSP rom that they are working on porting over to Vibrant. Master/Devs4Android released an AOSP clone. I believe someone else said they have Gingerbread working and they are just bug fixing at the moment.

Thanks for the insight mate, appreciate it. Just interesting.

I would venture to say that the Evo is usually the first phone to have this stuff ported to it. It's a high demand phone to get the best ROM's on so it usually gets them first. Don't get me wrong, I love my Vibrant, and so does Team Whiskey so they're working on 2.3, they have it ported but it's experimental still, they'll let us know when it's working. But as far as CyanogenMod goes, they usually port to the Evo first.
Where is the download link for this rom? When I search "Evo 2.3" I don't get any vibrant roms.
Silly developers forgetting links
</sarcasm>
also keep in mind, once the Vibrant 2.2 source is put out the devs will have easier time porting 2.3 also
How's the battery life on this rom? Can I flash it with clockwork mod? Do I have to disable voodoo?

Mooseberrypie is the best Rom for the Vibrant hands down. I hear they'll get honey comb running soon! haha brilliant.
Mooseberrypie bricked me. Anyone want to sign my Class Action Lawsuit petition? I have a lawyer, I promise
How is 2.2 source going to help with 2.3 code? That's like saying 2.1 source for our kernels helped us build a 2.2 build for our hardware.

Its funny when the witty comments just arent witty anymore.. i told my friend id get a bunch of trolls saying stuff like "does this wipe sd card" "do i need to disable voodoo"... its really old now, first person that ever did it got a chuckle... but i do agree that having 2.2 code prolly wouldnt help too much being its a porting...

What about my (soft bricked my pants joke )is that still good or?.....
simple answer is that its an htc phone, htc releases everything for their phones while samsung does not, though honestly I prefer my Vibrant to my G2

+100 to this!
will be nice but i bet it'll be really difficult to port
Definitely be good to have MIUI rom ported to the LG optimus one.. they are so quick and have nice themes.
Mat
Would love to get it on my P500 as well.
Maybe we can have this.
Look at this pic.

I would also like to test it...
I searched a bit about that... it can't be done because the MIUI is not open source... and when the the source is not available... there is no chance to make it work... somebody correct me if i'm wrong

As you can see im my previous screenshot, they said that there's a change to port it to our OO. Maybe if you gentlemen go and ask for it on their chat, we can have it sooner. We are a great community, let's spread the word and let it happen!
me tooo.....
I've talked with a nice guy on MIUI official chat, and he said me that we have to do the same thing developers did with the porting of the CM7. Since MIUI is not for our OO we have to "take" the version of the MIUI taken from a cell with similar specs, and then cook our ROM. So we need some cool guy that will do it for us. Sure we can be all betatester, but we need developers. Any suggestions?
Thanks, and sorry for my poor english
the apk graphics have been ported to MDPI (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858935) , so i guess this would be a good starting point.

Hi all, I'm starting to develop a new CM10.1 Rom. I'm going to get help by watching the code of the pyramid device because it have the same chipset and it have the 10.1 full working. Any help would be appreciated cause I'm a bit new to these things.
I know how to compile and such as others thing but I'm new so...

I appreciate the attempt at variety and your honesty at this being a learning experience. Don't take offense to this question but do we need another cm10.1 option? Dastin's is working very well. It might be beneficial to the community if you offered something different, maybe a different aosp rom instead?
Sent from my Evo 3D CDMA using xda app-developers app
Yes can be an alternative but the cyano isn't fully working and this make me disappointed.
I like aosp and aokp but because we already have both roms and cm too, i would like to do a cm rom (fully working if i can) cause is better than aokp and aosp.
Or you think that's better if i make aokp or aosp? Let me know, because i have not decided yet, i prefer cm also cause there is a lot of support for it and to make it.
I use Yoda ICS because Disarmed toaster (CM10) dont work 3D, videos falling and i want setting 3g only. Make with that and it will be perfect
I don't like Disarmer Toaster much, i don't know about java programming language so i can't make 3d working.
I think that i'm going to make an aokp rom, hoping fully working.
EDIT: I think that i'm not going to make any rom. Cause it's too hard and there isn't much documentation that explain device tree, kernel, android, and what do to.I don't have the skills yet to make it possible..
Mmmm, i can't give up! I must learn how to do it! Please any developer here that know how to do it, please give me informations and some explanation about device trees and kernel, and what is the binding between kernel and device trees. And if is possible what i should do to make it working, i don't mind full explanation of what to do but the necessary that i must know. Thanks!!

I think you need to spend some good time searching and reading. There are many guides on how to create a ROM, how to compile from source, and other related topics of developing. That's just a few that came up in a quick search and on XDA only, there's even more when you use that thing called googl. It's all there, you just got to search. Good luck!
I'm seraching continuously on google but what i found it's hard to understand for me, or isn't explained right enough for me!
Look these device trees, they are good? What are threy used for?
Device trees: https://www.codeaurora.org/gitweb/quic/la/?p=platform/vendor/qcom/msm8660_surf.git;a=tree;h=refs/heads/jb_mr1_rb1.9;hb=refs/heads/jb_mr1_rb1.9
Some informations: https://www.codeaurora.org/gitweb/quic/la/?p=platform/vendor/qcom/msm8660_surf.git;a=summary
Maybe you should start small. Play with the stock sense Rom maybe and tweak little things there to help you learn the basics.
To be clear, I don't develop. Wouldn't know where to start. Just saying it might be good to start small.

Some time ago when i had the galaxy ace i was a developer but it was easy to make rom for it, not rom built from sources. But now it's different.
Let learn and mayby we will find your nick in our phone informations

I don't really think it is as easy as doing a search, dastin,Mazda, helicopter and agrabren would have already fixed all the issues if it is that simple, I would love for you to make me eat my words but I don't think so

I know but i want to learn how to do it!
Start porting Roms, its easier but no guarantee it will boot, then you'll appreciate what it takes to build from scratch, I have tried to port cm 10 to my tablet and I tell you, its not as easy as it sounds, there's no shame in being a cake decorator either, take the stock ROM and customize to your liking or be like lens flare and kang a ROM and call it your own, just change the build prop, bam your a developer
Sent from my IdeaTabA2109A using Tapatalk HD
HAhahahhha that's funny xD
Anyway i'm ( doing a cool thing, i think) porting device trees from pyramid to shooteru, and i'm trying to build a cm10 with it.
Just a question, with the rom, i need to build a kernel too? And what kernel, the stock kernel on the htc-dev web site?
Start on github teamhydra or evervolv they have the android repo with manifest where u can see how its done by them what was changed in tree to compile shooteru . Its with working kernel and all.
BTW Google is ur friend .

It may happen. When a CM version is released, then some of the awesome devs here may port it. They have done an awesome job porting Jelly Bean so it is not that far fetched!

too difficult too see android 4.4 for our device.. there are 4.2 and 4.3 before kitkat and they are still not here as an android version rom..
but not sure
i believe the most active developer of most of the kernel and rom is no longer that active. while it is good to see kitkat on our mini phone i highly doubt it would even be possible. if its possible you might be looking at a very slow phone due technical constraints of using the updated os
But we can use jellybean.
I know kitkat is better than jellybean

don't think so... the problem is always drivers, and the low specs... let's face it... we love this little device, but is too old.
Hey Guys, Lets Ask nAa To Develop MiniCM Kitkat(4.4) For Our Tiny E10i and U20i...
It would be cool since they say KitKat use less memory, but I guess drivers are hard to find for this tiny device.
Kitkat actually using a RAM compression, like KSM, compcache (a.k.a zRAM), JIT and this is already in CM7 era, before Kitkat
For more info:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...rt-to-devices-with-as-little-as-512mb-of-ram/
Also, this is need a big and fast cpu cycle, so IF your device can handle @ 1Ghz it's not even enough, because ARMv6 (65nm) vs latest ARMv7 (45nm, 28nm on A-15)
And Google already leaving ARMv6 for Android support and for developing Kitkat, we need to hack many System in Android to working in our chipset
I'm happy, because we can run 4.1.2 on X10 Mini
But, for Kitkat, I think we must buy a new device
=)
Hi there to all devs, i seen that one of xda member , @victorator, has managed to build AOKP based kk rom. Im using his rom for more then a week, and its good, no problems with music like with CM based roms. the rom is pretty clean with not too much customising options. Plus it seems that the builder has left the project, or at least it is unknown if he gonna continue with this project
Can anyone that knows to build want to ask @victorator for permission and pls try and make something with this rom? Its a good base but can be made a lt better.
Thanks for listening
Sol
