Now all i can do is go into recovery! When i try flash a ROM it says successful but then when i try boot, it gos black and.... nothing.
PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!
Thanks in advance!
You need to flash the kernel in fastboot, extract the boot image from the cm10 and place it in and folder, open cmd and navigate to adb folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.img

The exact same thing happened with a Rezound I was playing with; it sucked major rooster. I finally read a post telling me to flash a frickin kernel boot image in fastboot (adb still works if can get to fastboot mode). The moment I did that, all was gravy train
Fastboot
Hey, I know fast boot can be confusing, just take it slowly, search xda and Google, and soon you will be set.
My only question is if u are on 1.05 hboot, why don't u gain s-off? That would solve all of these problems instantly.
Probably meant 1.15. We only have 1.12, 1.15, and 1.19
say you see it in fastboot devices
then you try and flash it says
says sending boot and just stays there and can only ctrl+c to exit it

Definitely not bricked, you probably just scared a whole bunch of people.
Follow this i had the same issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192245
when i open the fastboot.exe the adb shell windows (dos) opens and closes extremly fast no idea what it said
some people need to learn the definition of Bricked.
Bricked= exactly that the phone is now good for. a brick. (A.K.A: paperweight, doorstop, etc.) lol
yeah, just do what the others of told you, you'll get it squared away.

Is your file called "recovery-twrp-shooter-1.0.0.img"? Also is it in the same folder as ADB/Fastboot?
okay finally got the image to flash start to send once on writing image fails remote partition does not exist
had to type
fastboot flash image recovery-twrp-shooter-1.0.0.img in the cmd prompt

It is
fastboot flash recovery recovery-twrp-shooter-1.0.0.img
that you need to type in cmd. You have to tell it where to flash (in this case the recovery partition).
Let me know if that works for you.
thanks for your help now i have recovery working my phone still wont boot up ill have to find a factory rom on the web
Your welcome. Glad I could help!
There is a rom in the development section. Not sure if it works though. You could run the RUU and then redo everything now that you know exactly how.
Have you tried a factory reset from the bootloader after getting the recovery to work?
just did a factory reset thru TWRP and its stuck on the HTC logo screen trying to boot up same issue as earlier Im not sure why my phone will not boot up. seems like only thing i can do is access the bootloader
How long do you wait before you decide it wont boot?
10-15 minutes should i wait longer?
Nah, that should be good. http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.phpt=1092957&highlight=ruu
Do this then the whole process over.
So I had HBOOT 1.30.0000, and I used the old revolutionary method. Then there was a problem and now I'm left with S-Off, but no recovery and no root access. Can anyone help?

If you have s-off then I'm pretty sure that all you need to do is flash a recovery, then flash a rooted rom. Check the recovery in my sig.
What was the "problem" if you don't mind me asking.

Yeah, good point, sorry.
Put the recovery image in the same folder that you have adb in. Make sure usb debugging is turned on. The phone needs to be booted into android. Open the folder on your computer that has adb in it and hold shift while you right click, select open command prompt here, now type "adb push recovery.img /sdcard/" without the quotes. Now type "adb reboot bootloader", itll boot to hboot and you should be in fastboot usb, now type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" without the quotes.
Also, you,ll either have to change the name of the recovery to "recovery.img" or you can change the command i gave you, ie, fastboot flash recovery nameofyourrecovery.img
You now have your custom recovery back.

Pull your battery.. reinsert and hold volume down and the power button. Make sure phone is plugged in or replug in phone if you took it off to reboot. Should be in Hboot now, press power to select fastboot if it is white lettering over blue background. If it is red background your already in fastboot and if connected should say fastbootusb.
1. open a copy of the rom your on either with 7 zip or since your not adding anything to it unzip it .
2. find the folder that says kernel, now you will either see a PH98IMG.zip or you will see a file that his white with a silver circle called boot. That is the raw boot.img. If it is the ph zip simply unzip it and you will see the boot.img.
3. Now , remove the boot.img and place it in the same folder your fastboot is located , generally the place you unlocked with.
4. Then, bring up a command prompt the same way you did to unlock. change directory if needed by cd c:\thenthenameofthefoldrecontainingfastboot.
5. Simply type fastboot boot boot.img
6. you will see sending " size of img".. receiving "size of img ", then writing .. and it will end and tell you how many seconds it took.
Now, simply use the reboot selection from bootloader or with the command prompt type abd reboot and your phone should reboot and you will be back on your rom.
The reason you keep booting to the jBear screen is because the jBear process replaced your KERNEL. You need to find the kernel img file for YOUR operating system or ROM. If you are on GB, find a GB kernel. If on the ICS Leak, you need to find the ICS Leak kernel. If on a ROM, get that ROM's kernel file.
Then the commands on the PC are:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
Another option is to use Hansoon's Rezound All-in-one-kit to flash the stock kernel for you.

ok so i reverted back to stock to fix an issue i was having, it worked fine
but then i tried to flash a new version of speed rom to test it out, but then i forgot i need 4EXT to flash my rom
i wiped everything, and since my rom couldn't be flashed im stuck without a rom
ok, simple right? i just flash 4EXT and restore
but i didnt have an unlocked bootloader (even though i have S-OFF an unlocked bootloader is necessary) so i unlocked it, but i didnt have a rom when i unlocked it so i couldnt reboot
so know i cant flash a new recovery because it wont stick,
so i cant use any recovery, and i cant boot up either :/
is there a way to get out of this without going back to the RUU?
Did u try flashing cwm and seeing if that would stick... Just until u can get back running?
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
What are you using to flash the recovery? If you're trying to do it via fastboot commands it won't stick, trust me, I tried, use hasoon's tool, that seems to stick, oddly enough I switched out one of the image files with 4EXT but it still doesn't stick, anyways use the tool and flash cwm, restore then you can install 4EXT via recovery updater once you've got yourself a booted rom.

Question: Why don't you want to go back to the RUU?
The only thing I can think of is trying to extract your nandroid backups and then flash the stuff from the backups through fastboot. Don't ask me how to convert the data.ext4.tar and system.ext4.tar into an img file, I do not know how to do that, sorry :/
But if you do figure out how to convert them, flash them as follows:
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
If you're lucky, you may be able to boot up, and then after that, reflash the recovery.
Alternatively, you could try
fastboot erase recovery
then
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
and see if that sticks
(DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ENG BOOTLOADER, AS IT MAY NOT ALLOW YOU TO FLASH THE RECOVERY)
That's all I can think of right now. I'll try to come up with more ideas later.
i tried all of the above
i dont want to reflash the stock RUU -_-, i have to many files to transfer
U may not have a choice.
Either way... U should know that your phone isn't bricked dude... It turns on.

If you have the ruu you should be able to replace the recovery.img(or at least remove the one in it) and remove the hboot image, that way you won't have to reflash eng hboot.. I can find the link to the original leak that I flashed, but they simply took out the recovery and hboot image from the zip- it saves some steps.
As much time as you've probably spent doing everything else you probably could have done it 3 times already! LOL. I love you man. Haha.

You don't have a card reader, or some old phone that can connect by usb? You only need it on the external - I have a feeling that is why it goes on the external, the phone may not boot into anything, but you can alter the external without it.
And I think there is a fastboot push command or something like that, isn't there?

OH YEA. I forgot that was part of why I decided those phones suck. If they had removable battery and sdcard.. oh well. you're screwed.
So right now you don't have eng hboot flashed right? Because that is the ONLY reason that you can't flash recovery or other things with fastboot commands - if you don't, flash that, then you can flash recovery that will stick, then you can reboot into recovery, adb push the file you need, or restore a nandroid.. Just sayin.
no i have always had ENG hboot, and im unlocked,i dunno why it doesnt stick
Open cmd. Put ruu file in same directory where the cmd is running.
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip (ruu filename here).zip
Wait until it completes. You may have to do it twice. After that's done, you'll have a stock rom.
Boot into it and then load up the eng hboot to the sdcard, rename it to PH85img.zip or whatever is correct, then reboot into bootloader, let it flash.
After all that is done, you should have an eng hboot. The next step would be to flash a custom recovery. I'll let you do the rest.

Hi, I recently got a rezound off ebay to replace a broken galaxy nexus. I'm still S-On, cause I can't find the windows software anymore to walk you through it, but I'm htcdev unlocked and rooted. I've tried to install a few different roms, and they flash fine, but trying to flash the boot.img is where I keep getting stuck. The only 2 ways I know how to do it are through fastboot and through hboot as a ph98img file.
In fastboot, the first time I try to flash it, I get a failure message. If I try it again right after, it gets stuck sending the file to the phone and I have to unplug, pop the battery out and restart.
In hboot, it goes through it's thing, then for a second when it should be flashing, it says "parsing," and then goes through the rest of it's thing and nothing happens.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help, and I'm sorry if this has been covered... I've been searching for a few days now and can't find anything similar.
If you're s-off you shouldn't need to fastboot or go through a ph98img.
I'm sorry... that shoulda said S-On. I'll edit the OP.

I find that the easiest way to flash a ROM is to do
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recoveryname.img
Wipe
Flash ROM
Reboot
Enjoy
By booting into your custom recovery through fastboot, you are essentially in temporary "S-Off" mode so you can flash a ROM without the need to manually flash the boot.img
Of course, if you boot into recovery normally, you will need to do
fastboot flash boot boot.img
But that seems to be giving you problems.
