Did you do any of these with your device before it screwed up?
Soft bricks:
Flash improper firmware which the system recognizes as improper
Prematurely terminate transfer
Flash with a bad cable
Hard Bricks:
Flash improper bootloaders
Flash mismatched versions of proper bootloaders
Flash bootloaders with a bad cable

That way we'll be able to tell if it is actually a brick or not.

If you dont have waranty open the phone ... detach the battery HOLD VOLUM + and plug USB . Should see it as an " ? Device ". If it see it that is ok. Plug back the battery and use the V+ + USB to try to power it up. And try to see if you have energy in the battery.
Xperia S comes with battery inside the phone, you sure you can remove it yourself?

Try this:
- Connect your XS to pc using USB cable
- Press volume up + power button for 15 seconds (untill the phone vibrates 1 time)
- hold volume up, now you should be in fastboot mode.
This should work for everyone who flashes a wrong kernel
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Depends. I dont think so. Will suggest a full power off. Plug out battery, and with the battery out hold power button to eliminate all the power from capacitors. And after I will try to start it.

Do you have power?
Sent from Hell using Xperia-S
when you hold power button + volume up for 10 seconds does it vibrate?
if it does vibrate or not try this:
1. charge your phone for about 1 hour (doesnt need to have a led light),
2. i guess do u have flashtool already, download any firmware for your phone.
3. since your phone is not booting, once you have the necessary files and place the firmware on the folder of flashtool, (c:flashtool/firmware/your downloaded firmware),
4. open the flashtool then click the lightning icon and choose flashmode and choose your firmware, a tab will flash and say turn off your phone then connect via flashmode (whatsoever), then connect your phone via flash mode (power button + volume down), this will not connect immediately, what will you do is to push the power button+ volume up and wait until it vibrates 3 times, then after that push the power button+volume down, then the pc will detect your phone and flash the firmware, and then wait until it finish, once finished power on your phone. ( it happens to me also that my phone does not turning on and thats what i did).

Dear friends
I tried to change my icons by replacing the framework.res file which put me in bootloop, I had to remove my battery ( by removing the 10 screws on the back) to power off the device then put it in the fastboot to reflash the rom.
my question is there an easier way to deal with the bootloop without removing the battery?? (I hope so)
I think if you press vol up + power and wait till you have 3 vibrations.

Yea, that should have definitely worked. There are other threads I believe where people had bootloops, and the device has successfully powered down.
I am quoting this directly from dooms "All you need to know thread": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526866 (which you probably should have read before doing modifications)
while device is power ON
Volume Up + POWER (for 10 seconds) -> resets the battery, its like removing the battery and putting it back in [device will vibrate once]
Volume Up + POWER (for additional 5 seconds, total 15 seconds) -> will power off hard, device will power down [device will vibrate thrice]

Try to time it when it starts its loop again, I don't see why you should ever have to remove your battery to reset, there hasn't been a problem yet that the key combos haven't solved.

Bootloop Issues
My phone the Sony Xperia Go... Has a boot-loop problem. it starts up and immediately goes into boot loop, (I lost power during the update because of a broken USB cord). I have tried the volume down button while plugging in the phone into the computer and it connects as an unknown device, but drops out too quickly for windows to find a driver for it. I have tried resetting it by holding the up and off buttons once it has been stuck in boot loop for a while but it wont connect to the computer. Any one else had this problem? how did you fix it?
Xperia S Issues. Bad Flash
Hi, I read the 'existing users' installation instructions on the Sspeed ICS rom and installed the rom without installing the ics rom and kernel (I was tired). When booting, I go in a bootloop with the doomkernel screen. I can access recovery fine.
When holding vol+ and connecting to PC the phone goes back into it's bootloop and does not boot into fastboot.
When holding vol- and connecting to PC the phone flashes the green led and then boots into bootloop.
If I wait until the phone vibrates and lights up blue I can press the button to access recovery. I thought I could then just copy a gb rom over using USB mount but it is not detected on the PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

im not the expert here but I have bricked other phones before but never an xperia phone before. I have been reading up, the doom kernel has some mounting options, try to mount the sd card as mass storage so pc can send files accross to the phone. It should be mount and storage menu -> mount usb storage, then leave it on that menu and connect to computer, see if that works

If it blinks the LED for a second and reboots, that means that you don't have the drivers. Install drivers that are bundled with flashtool and try again. Or use Linux / OSX.

Just Press VolUp and Power button until you get (one vibration followed by 3 consecutive vibrations) ... it will mean phone is shutdown.
Once shutted down, you will be able to press VolDown while plugging phone to PC and it will enter into flashmode.
Then you will be able to flash a FTF using flashtool
doesn't work...after the 3 beeps i let go and the screen turns black but then the boot loop happens again, i cant turn the phone off

Hello. I've got familiar problem. My phone blacked out after one day having about 35 % battery full. I was trying to reset it by holding power and volume up buttons - nothing happened. Just once showed up Sony logo but then again black nothing. Then it vibrate 3 times quickly and from that time it is shutted down, won't turn on even in flashmode. LED is not working too. I was asking for advice in local store servise and guy told me, that new phones have to be at least 30 min on the charger. So it's here now for hour, no result. :/
Just fixed this issue.
Follow these steps
1.hold vol up + power until phone vibrates 3 times.
2.open flash tool and point towards your stock file.
3.hit okay
4.wait for flash tool to prepare the files then it will prompt you to connect device in flash mode( vol down + power)
5.wait for it to finish. Unplug reboot and there you go fixed...
Hope this helps

Use the bundled wallcharger!!! not a PC, pc has too less power to charge it now!
After wallcharger is placed hold vol+ and power for a few seconds until 3 vibrations, then let the phone on charger for atleast 2 hours, if all is good phone will bootup to the "charging animation"

Something similar happened to me. I have the bugged version of chargemon (only can charge with phone on) and accidentally discharged completely. The phone didn't boot, didn't charge and didn't do the 3 vibrations thing. So I put the battery off, conected the wall charger, putted the battery and it booted
It's really easy to remove the battery, you just need to be careful
How can I remove the battery and do a "force boot"? The phone is stuck on the recovery screen. I'm unable to restart/boot.
I think the only way it's to remove the battery.
Can someone helpme? the battery appears to be glued to the phone.
Thanks
Update:
I was able to execute the recovery and restore my backup. But after that the phone turned off, now It does not turn on at all.
I'm trying the power + volume up. The phone respond with the first vibration, then the next three, then, nothing happens.
The phone does not connect on the PC. There's no connection. It's not recognized by flashtool. I'm unable to update, change roms, I need to at least connect it.
if I plug the usb cable the red light appears and keep blinking slowly...
Press and hold power button and + volume button until it restarts.

I know, I know that this question has been always on the forums but mine is different. It really won't open!

I don't know what else to do!! :

but it's working great before it. it just turned out to be like that when I was changing the sim card.

Dont try flash, just turn on, eg hatd reset (volume up+power on/off button) and let it connected, dont try go to cwm. Just let it lets say boot, I know, screem is dark but after while youll see in flashtool main window that phone is detected, it took me one or two mins to get it. Then you can try fastboot and flash correct kernel. And try to remove the SIM card or insert the old one.

hard reset combos: power + vol up / power + vol down / vol up + vol down / power + vol up + vol down. I've tried them all. not a newbie here so don't treat me like one please
rom + kernel = pure blood sola v2. i don't think it's the rom's fault tho since my sister has the same rom and her's works like a charm. the rom has been in the phone for more than 2 months without any problems (my phone's). files are accessible and photos are transferable.
How did the problem arise? everything was working great till i changed the sim card. then poof! it won't work anymore. to be honest it wasn't my phone. i'm just trying to fix it
not turning on. no power. no backlights meaning its not the display problem. when you plug it in via usb / wall charger there's a red LED but after an hour it disappears.
really need your help guys
could work
I have a Xperia U and triying to port JB to it I briked two or three times.
I hold power botom and it vibrate and doesnt happen anything ok.?¿
The possible solution could be this(for my works)
Charge the phone like 1 hour for my doesnt charge with the animation but its for security.
With the nest steps you are going to lose all CWM and tweaks and apks but personal data still there.
You have two options:
Flash a new rom with flashtool, but when you pluged with volum - you hold it for allmost all process becose for my i conect to PC and its goes quikly so i cant do annything.
If the phone is not recognised by Flashtool:
You have to repair it with PC Companion or Bridge for Mac, and also the same hold volum - almost all process.
For my it works, tell my if for you works:cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:

That rom is using overclocked kernel, that should be the problem,... But one try.
Just switch off (volume up and power until 3 vibrations), just in case, the open flashtool, click on that flash and select fastboot mode.
Then keep volume up and connect with pc and see if the led goes violet.

If ypu tried and it did nothing it means it not entering fastboot and probably your device is bricked and my guess is overclocked kernel, but it's just a guess.
Have you tried what i wrote you??

Mobile is already switched off and when i try to hard reset it nothing is happening, i have tried the combination of all the buttons and nothing ever happened no vibration at all and using the flash tool in flash mode the lights are not coming.
If in your case the mobile is bricked what should i be possibly doing ??

Is it possible to flash anther kernel in any other way ?? and to say that the battery led is also not showing up, is it because of the kernel ??

Just try only one combination, keep volume up button and connect to pc, this way it connect in fastboot mode. If the led doesnt even blink, the phone is hard bricked probably. And then only warranty might help...
But try what I ask you do before...

Once again
1. If you hold, not keep pressing but hold volume up+power then 1 vibration is reboot and if you keep holding them 3 vibrations is switch off.
2. I asked you something else, start flashtool, press flash and choose fastboot.
Then, your phone is off you said, hold only volume up button, HOLD and CONNECT to pc. If you led blinks violet you are in fastboot mode,
If not just let it connected to flash tool, close the window from fastboot with options and watch the main flashtool window if you will see some report.
Just watch for 10min if not, then...
