This is just a copied link from the site but it works.

btw i had to uninstall, I was playing with the setting and when I hit the stream music button I couldn't find any of my local music on my card. Stock app did just fine.
I know, we can't use that option but it was a "don't touch that button" scenario and we all know it had to be touched.
I personally don't care for it until we get full functionality for it. I see some great options in it but I couldn't find the equalizer presets like the stock one has. (normal, pop, ext...)
This works really really great, thanks
Not for me...
I get force closes when I try to push this down on Bionix 1.2.
Could be doing something wrong - I renamed my MusicPlayer.apk to MusicPlayer.ap1 and put the new app in /system/app using ADB. I'm not new to the process, but this one is throwing me for a loop.
I just clicked it and installed it and have 2 music players now.
My stock and this.
I have flagship.
Its because the stock music for flagship is not stock but a miui music player

Jst install it. No need to push ect... click on the apk and install
Correction
Interestingly, it wants to replace my system media player. May be time for a full wipe of the Bionix -v 1.2 ROM. I've had this one installed for a couple days (not quite a week) anyway. I usually can't go 2 weeks without flashing.

I have Bionix V and when I installed this music player I have both the stock mp and this...
Only issue I have with this is that shuffle all does not work, and the song title thing on the notification bar...
Playlist does not work and when ur in a album in landscape and try to go back by clicking music icons on top left it gives me force close
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You could freeze the stock music player via titanium backup(paid) if you don't want to completely nix it.
I'm having all the same issues you guys are having and also a force close when I went into sd and deleted some mp3 files. Other than that it works well, thanks.
Well i had to go back to the stock music player.. for some reason when i would do other tasks or when my phone screen would turn off or on the music would get choppy and skip for a second or two.. Im sure there will be a better port soon...

Same thing happened to me. I think it takes a bit to adjust, after the initial hiccups it played the music with the same fluidity as stock mp.

Is there one?
So I now use my Moto Atrix as my music player like I did with my Captivate. The only problem is, is that my music player randomly stops in the middle of the song. I go back to the player to press play and the song starts over......
this is one of MANY problems that I have been having with the Atrix.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Not sure what that issue is but you might want to try another music program. I messed around with the included player for a short bit but I got winamp and I really like it so far. There's quite a few other good options out there.
Hope you're able to figure something out.

Do you know of anything like the player on the iPod touch? Or something that works as good as the Samsung Android music player?
Edit: THANK YOU!!! Winamp is working amazingly and the problem has been fixed.

Still having the same issue with winamp? That seems odd... what file types are you using?

Do me a favor and post your bug in this thread on their support forum:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/45468?tstart=30
I've got the same problem. But one thing I am sure is that when you use task manager to kill background program, don't kill those you are not familiar with.I tried several times to find out what's impacting the music player, but finally,it turns out to be obscure.I mean when I erase everything from the kill list, music wont stop in sleep mode, but I cannot prescisely tell who are they.It seems that several programs together work on it.Most suspect those whoes string having 'media' in them.

Some people just react and blame instead of trying to find the solution.
I went through that once due to a task killer. I ignored the music app from the task killer, but eventually realized the task killer was not needed!

I now blame the Auto Kill ---- I don't have the Music app in the Auto Kill and I thought that the phone was acting dumb, so I guess the Auto Kill was being a little b*tch
Don't know if this is a fix for everyone but I was having the same problem. I removed the gallery app from the auto-kill list and it fixed the issue. I tested it several times by adding and removing the gallery app to and from the auto-kill list. Every time it was on the list, the music would cut out after sleep. Every time I removed it, everythnig functioned mormally.
ok i did my own tests today adding programs to auto-kill list and playing back audio in between. the playback issue only appears when the screen go dark . i focused first on apps that in my opinion had nothing to do with media and after all this time consuming process i found that adding certain programs creating the problem . here is the DO NOT list and hope this work for all of ya
1) gallery
2) purchased media*
3) music
* im sure this folder was created after sync with my itunes . i used motorola media link app ( free download from motorola site) which work like charm on my mac pro adding exactly that i checked. keep in mind that your case could be different depending on type of sync or adding media method so its up to you finding the correct folder. now if you sync via the mentioned moto app you maybe having other folders on list like podcasts or whatever you decided add to your phone storage . i cant confirm this because only folder i synced was purchased media . post your findings... peace!
why are you guys even bothering auto killing apps? thats a big no-no
+1 auto-kill = BAD JUJU
If your going to use a TaskManager, use it only to manually stop rogue processes or apps. Never let it run on its own.
I used OSMonitor to kill off apps as needed. There's tons out there, but only use one that doesn't run automatically.
Dude, seriously, are you 12 or something?
Grow up man!!

Agreed... I'm not sure why you feel the need to kill apps on a phone with a gig of RAM. The only thing it does is kills your battery when you have apps that continually try to restart, then the task killer kills them.
After running my phone without a reboot since Monday, and NO task killing, I still have around 250MB free, and have no problems running Dungeon Defenders, etc. No lag, no anything. Mind you, I run a live wallpaper, as well.

this is just how android works. it loads up many apps on boot, and in the background even when you didnt not open them, so that it is faster the next time you need to use said apps. some people hate it, but the bottom line is there's nothing you can do about it except remove those apps from your phone. its just how android is built.
You have problems with RAM ? I use like 10% most of the time.
Free RAM is wasted resource. Stop thinking of things in terms of how Windows work with it crappy resource management system previous to Windows 7.
Well, if the RAM used for these apps could have been used to store apps that I really USE instead of apps I don't us, the useful apps could have been started quicker... (and apps I have used recently would not have been kicked out of memory so fast.
do not worry about that.
just uninstall the apps you never use.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again they need to make the system *really* clever by having it learn what apps you use the most and load the relevant processes rather than stuff which is unlikely to get used.

Captain Obvious speaking here , forgive me: If you have the weather widget on screen , or those live wallpapers that link with weather, your accuweather process needs to run.
And any app that has notification mode (like yahoo) will start up on boot, check what it is supposed to do ("are my notifications on or off?") and then recede to background if there is nothing to do or if the notifications are disabled.
If after boot you press and hold the home button, tap "task manager" then switch to the "ram" tab - does it show that you are using all 800 or so MB of memory with all those background apps? Probably not.
what annoys me is that at bootup it loads up apps i use once a week or so and makes it take ages before the phone is usable. fine, keep it in memory once i've used it but don't load everything at bootup ffs
we really need a msconfig type thing to stop this.

this sounds like its your first android phone. you arent the first person to notice this and be unhappy about it. this topic has been beaten to death in the android world. there are utilities you can do to remove broadcast receivers upon startup etc as well as tweak the internal memory algorithm numbers to be more aggressive. but in the end you are going against the OS. its best to remove any app you dont use and dont want starting up like that. and if you need root for that, then this just goes to show why so many people love getting a pure android nexus phone, because this type of nonsense doesnt exist there. its pure barebones elegance, with the OS working precisely as intended. zero samsung bloatware.

my 2nd actually (desire last time round), rooted both, same annoyances in both - not HTC bloat, or samsung - the fact that i can't have control (key word here) over my phone. i mean if i wanted an OS without options i would have gone for an iphone!
i've tried a few apps that claim to stop apps booting up but they all fail.
as far as removing them, why? a simpler solution would be to stop the damn things running all the time. i don't use photoshop on my PC daily but i'm not going to install/uninstall the thing as i use it. it should just sit there waiting to be ran not doing anything at all until that moment.

still a long time when you're looking at the screen wishing it would hurry the hell up. seriously, count it. boot up your phone in front of someone with winmo 7 or an iphone then, after it turns on and you see the first glimpse of your homescreen say - it'll just take another 20 seconds or so. 1...., 2..... 3..... 4..... 5...... etc etc etc.
it's annoying and bad practise from an "instant on" standpoint. i want to turn it on, type in pin, see homescreen and hit a shortcut and have it load. not have to other stuff i wont use that day to load in the background first.
------
anyhoo - this is something that annoys me - big time ...obviously
yeah its just something that you're gonna have to live with. its just the way android is designed for better or worse.
If you have root, get an app called Gemini app manager, its free and you can tweak the autorun settings for anything.
That not the OS caching in ram(good) but stuff you dont need running and using cpu etc(bad).
Just be carefull about what you tweak and backup etc.
Surely stock apps don't each that much battery right? my ram is usually 200MB-300MB / 1GB and I'm using a brand new SG2 stock firmware / unrooted and the only widgets i have are pictures/weather/google search.
Even though social hub, digital clock, etc still run in "Running applications" the list is pretty small...
Anyone here a part of it? I'm actually loving it right now. The fact that I don't really need to worry about sdcard space saves me. I can just stream my music to my phone since I always have an excellent wifi/4g signal. It can automatically copy your itunes/windows media/etc.. playlists and settings and this is a plus. What do you guys think?
I also love the service, but the app itself could use some work. it is a bit wonky.
Biggest pain was getting my 50gb music collection uploaded. Glaring issue is that I need to organize my music better.
Yeah I have It, but I think the app needs an overhaul.

I contacted Google and they asked me to send the crash log (don't know why I didn't just send that with the initial email) but they have not yet gotten back to me. I have just about given up on Google Support as I have sent them 4 emails in the last month. It would be perfect if I could get this to work on the E3D.

I've been using it as well, but noticed that the Music Manager can be quite finicky with the uploads. There's definitely been many songs that haven't uploaded for no apparent reason.

No it doesn't let you send out invites....you just gotta wait to get yours...it took me like two months and I know some people who got it in two weeks ...and they requested their invite much later than me.....
I like Google music but the Android app could use some work...better app optimization when scrolling through tracks, albums or artists.....right now it just lags when you scroll.....Also for some reason the tracks in some of my albums do not get sorted by lowest track number to highest .....
Other than that its great.
it's nice and it's growing on me, but here are my quirks
You aren't able to download your music. As far as I know this can only be done on your phone. It's nice that it's in the 'cloud'; however, I still need to maintain a copy on my computer if I need to transfer it to some other device or media that doesn't have the ability to connect to GMusic.
Better online sound quality. Over the phone it seems to sound much better than through a web browser on my pc.

Google Music
Sup guys, quick question, does anyone have Google music up and running completely on R.G. 2.1 or Virtuous Unity Sense ? I have the music manager set up on my laptop, I downloaded the app from the market, but when I go to Menu/settings/Sync, there is no option to sync music or is this an option at all ? I hope that I'm posting this in the right forum, thanks in advance for your help....
Thing I hate is sometimes for no reason the music manager will give me errors for music i'm trying to upload. Then a few days later I look at it when im about to upload something else and all of the errors that were there are gone and the songs have actually downloaded. That and the fact that sometimes it duplicates music.
Does anyone know where I can find the latest version of Music Junk? Mine just keeps saying "Network Error" and all the searches I have done are really old posts. Can someone help me please???
Looks like it might be gone for good since the Facebook and Twitter page has been pulled....
I've been wondering the same, but I guess it really is finally gone for good... which blows because it was the best app for downloading music, hands down.
After posting my last, I installed Music Junk 4.3 on my phone again and opened it immediately to try it out again. I searched for music and it actually worked. I downloaded a couple of songs and everything, but then it stopped working after trying another search. Not sure what this means, but hopefully something positive...
Can you post a link for 4.3? I couldn't find it anywhere. I found other versions, but not that one. Pretty Please?
I have this problem with 4.3 I also tried to uninstall & reinstall. I tried 4.2 as well with no luck. This is typical of them when they change versions, but I haven't seen a 4.4 version out there...

I did last night, randomly... decided to install it again and try it. The first search worked and I was able to download several songs. After that, no such luck. I've been getting network error ever since.
I remember long time back (HTC hero days) music junk used to have some files, that used to pull data from these music websites, that used to get outdated. hence, the new versions would have the new files and we would not get the network errors...
If we can get a developer to look into some recent music junk versions and look into the changes made, we might be able to get it working again.

The thing is that music junk was the only app that showed the bitrate of each song. And it worked! The quality of songs was amazing.

No way 4.3 was working for me this month now i get network error why i love this app. Any one know if there is an update like 4.4 or am alternative app out there?
I'm using v 3.0.4, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The trick is i have to press search a few times, i get the "network error'' the first tries but eventually it loads the search page. I get the error far more times when im using the network than through wi fi. But once it goes through i click on the song and downloads on the first try.
