ur phone will only brick if u use any rom/kernel meant for I9100G since it has a diff hardware altogether
u have to look for ROM/KERNELS meant for I9100(international version or its variants like M/P/T etc)
never try anything meant for I9100G on ur phone
Yep ofc it will break it

guys..
just wanna ask something..
what kind of s2 was this..
model gt-i9100
android version 2.3.3
baseband i9100xxkce
kernel 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #2
buildnumber: gt-i9100-eng 2.3.3 gingerbread xxkce test keys..
is this an ok or good type of SGS2?
can i flash this with the roms in dev section?or you can give me link on dev of this type of sgs2?
btw..in this phone to go to recovery mode is via vol up + vol down then power..
pls someone help me..thanks in advance..
jusst want to clarify something about this..
Just to confirm, are you sure about the kernel? Usually kernel ends with 2 letters and then a number. (Im talking about i9100xxkce, the kce part)
You enter recovery mode exactly as you wrote.
yeah..im sure..my sgs2 was on my hand while we are on conversation
stock recovery was volup + voldown then power..
Search button says
CE---> Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands
btw..in this phone to go to recovery mode is via vol up + vol down then power..
Thats wrong for i9100 .
Check codes under the battery SSN = i9100GSMH.
jje
so is this also an original s2 with same specs as the other i9100?
cant find the link..
can u post the direct link here? thanks

yeah it is..
so what was this?
is it not the sgs2 in the forum?
OK thats the standard International i9100 the main phone in Devs and custom roms .
All custom roms are flash able unless they state they are for another model like the G .
jje
ahh so ihave the i9100G type of samsung g2?
so u are saying i can flash any i9100G roms here?
how about mu baseband and kernels?
hmm..
btw..on my phone about..
model: i9100 not i9100G
btw..
under my battery..
heres the info..
model i9100G
ssn-i9100GGSMH
sory..my bad when i say yes on ur question.
so now u can acess it again?
btw on my about phone..it indicates model: i9100
kinda confusing and contrary with infos under the.battery..
You can only flash G firmware on G phones you cannot flash i9100 firmware on G phones .
Your codes read as a G not the i9100 international version .
There are some G threads around and G CUSTOM ROMS .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108787
jje
but as u can see..
i got about fone all in i9100..not i9100G..
only in under infos battery got i9100G..
kinda weird and contrary..
is it final.that i got G model fone?
up..
can some one identify and acess this sgs2?
confusing..thanks..

This is the entire post thread chronologically. JJEgan told you that you have the standard international i9100. NOT the G. You somehow came to the conclusion that you DO have the i9100G. (How, I'm not sure...)
Final say is what is printed on the label under your battery. What does that say, EXACTLY?
Does it say:
Model: GT-I9100
Or does it say:
Model: GT-I9100G
If there is a "G" at the end, then you have a G model.
This shouldn't be this hard.
Nope otherwise there would be a G behind the 9100 ;P If your device is rooted just make a nandroid (backup in recovery).

I get myself a Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300T a few months ago. I bought it from Bangkok, Thailand. And I live in Malaysia. That means : my phone doesn't have warranty anymore.
I just rooted my phone last Monday. And now I'm planning to flash this rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43677412#post43677412
And I checked in the google, someone said that I have to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom rom.
My question is : do I have to unlock boot loader to flash custom rom ? ( I have already rooted my GT-I9300T )
Seniors, please help me. I hope that someone will answer me, please don't ignore me. Thank you. All the best for you.
No. You to not need to touch the bootloader at all.

The only difference with the "T" model is it is optimised for Australian frequencies, standard i9300 Roms work fine, and the modems work ok but if you go to the modem thread you can grab the modem/Ril for the T variant you will be optimised for Australia

Nope. Only official ROMs should include modems. When you flash custom ROMs, modem is left untouched.
SOME custom ROMs may have an option to (or force) modem flash, but this will be seamless so you wont have to do anything special.

Not really. The G900A (AT&T version) has a locked bootloader which means the kernel and bootloader cannot be changed. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. There are certain G900F (International version) ROMs that can run on the G900A, but it's still the G900A. For those ROMs you should go to the G900A threads to get more information and ask this question there to get better responses. This is the T-Mobile forum.
Sorry

Again, we need to know exactly what it is you want to do. Then we can advise. You have a G900T and it cannot be a G900F although it can do similar things. Exactly what are you trying to accomplish?

I have a T-Mobile S5 and am using on AT&T with Omega rom which is basically a G900F rom. But I still use the G900T's modem and boot loader. It works very well that way and is not very hard to do. If you go over to the G900F threads and read some of the ROM threads (such as Omega) it will explain how it's done.
Good Luck!
