Need Help with unlocked NEO and root on 4.1.B.0.431

Hi,
need help with my unlocked NEO (not NEO V) with the Testpoint-Method
I currently have installed 4.1.B.0.431 (Kernel 2.6.32.9-perf) and don't know the next steps. I want to install
ROM:
JJHybrid_ROM_3.1_Stable_CompleteAOSP_NEO.zip
Kernel
suave-kernel-v5-exp-neo.img
but I dont find a solution to root my phone and install CWM. Or is this the wrong way?
I've now read so many different instructions that I am very confused and not know what are the next steps.
Jhybrid rom neednot to be flash just downlaod copy to your sd card install from CWM recovery
I have the same problem. I don't know how to root and install cwm on this firmware ;/

suave kernel have cwm included. For root, flash via cwm Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690 First flash the kernel, because you need cwm for flashing Superuser.

Ahh, CWM is included.
Okay, then I think the next steps are:
- Start Neo in Fastmode (right butten pressed than poweron, the LED should light blue)
- rename suave-kernel-v5-exp-neo.img to boot.img
- Open Commandline on PC and run "fastmode boot boot.img"
- reboot phone to CWM and install Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip from SDCard
- reboot phone check root
- reboot phone to CWM, wipe and install JJHybrid_ROM_3.1_Stable_CompleteAOSP_NEO.zip
- reboot and all done.
Is this right? Or can I install the Kernel with fastmode and then reboot to CWM to install directly the new ROM without Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip.
First flash the rom, then flash Superuser.Btw,i'm not using command prompts,i'm using flashtool,it's much easy to work with, and don't neet to rename the kernel. You can get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351317
I will try flashtool. I downloaded already, but dont used it so far. I will post my result when I flashed the kernel and the ROM.

I connect my phone to pc companion and it is recognize. I have installed CM11 on my phone, so I think your bootloader is unlocked.
So then you flash experimental kernel and then wipe cache/data/dalvik cache and flash zip.

between 1 and 2 steps you must root your phone. To do this follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/u-development/ics-noob-proof-root-via-flashtool-t1933985
2) you don't need unzip the kernel.elf, just move rom zip to the phone. In this video that you add he use kernel.elf, but you can use experimental kernel (has many features like overclocking so you can use this kernel) and flash like he done for kernel.elf
Then just follow instructions on your video

Answer on your question :No it will not
if you have doubt if you have unlocked bootloader try again. i think this will help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/issues/guide-beginners-how-to-unlock-t1971363
I didn't know that you have b.1.54 firmware

Than flash b.1.54 kernel here: http://www.4shared.com/file/ob4lM4PB/xperia_u_611B154_World_kernel.html

[Q] Stuck!

So I updated to a new ROM and I have damaged my recover or I need to update recovery somehow.
The ROM launches and I have ADB support but not google play services or root working
I can access my bootloader (blue LED)but I don't know how to fastboot a new recovery from there
When I go to access recovery (pink LED) the recovery never loads. It used to be a CWM/TWRP dual boot, neither are working.
So I am guessing I need to flash a boot.img from the bootloader using fastboot? I can't find any boot.imgs anymore. Just all this one click **** that doesn't work at all for some reason.
Advice?
On which ROM are you?
Is it AOSP, CM or Stock based?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
If you are on windows, try using nuts dual recovery installer (if you are on stock based rom). But before u use it, u should install ADB system-wide or try to put it into a folder directly on C:/
If you are on e. g. CM12.1 you need to "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (you find them in the General Section)

Ok, so lots of info here you might want. =)
Yes Bootloader unlocked. I WAS on paranoid ROM kitkat. It pushed a LP OTA update, which silly me, I installed. So right now the phone is on an AOSP based LP ROM, coming from a KK ROM. There was a dual recovery approperiate for that PA KK ROM installed before.
Anyway, I downloaded a recovery from the link you posted and I am currently installing a backup from before I did all these silly and naive things. =p
My next project... How do I go back to stock so I can try a none AOSP ROM? (o:'
two ways :
- you can download a stock rom ftf file from the official thread here, then use flashtools to flash that file (a more complicated version would be to create your own ftf file using xpirifirm and flashtools), OR
- You can download a pre-rooted zip (also available on the forums here) and install that through your current recovery.
Either way make sure you do a full wipe, stock and AOSP don't like each other much from my experience.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/ftf-cutomized-23-1-0-726-cda-1281-9809-t3082166
1. Go here and download the 23.1.A.1.28 FTF and prerooted zip. (It's the latest stock firmware version) and copy the zip file on your phone.
2. Go to recovery
3. Do a factory reset (wipe)
4. Flash the prerooted zip
5. Shut down your phone (NO REBOOT!)
6. Go to Flashtool -> Flashmode and load the FTF file
7. remove everything in "wipe"
8. on "exclude" tick the following: PARTITION, TA and SYSTEM
9. Click on flash and connect your phone via flashmode and let it flash.
10. Disconnect your phone and start
11. You are done. let the phone boot and settle and reboot one time. Now you are on stock with recovery and root.

The easiest way is to flash it within TWRP if you have TWRP 2.8.4 or higher already installed. Otherwise use Fastboot Install Method. Check the link above.

this hybrid firmware not work for me while using CM13.
I flashed the official TWRP 3.0.2.0 via fastboot then its okay now.
Some users have reported many problems flashing this TWRP, so, please add the steps depending your current TWRP.
Can we flash it directly if we are using the modified H20 and OOS3 TWRP?Is it necessary to flash "Revert2Lollipop" before flashing this?
Thank you
I'm on OS3.0 and flash this recovery img file directly from my previous TWRP, and it worked as expected.
From OOS3.0 beta and TWRP 3.0.1-0 modified I've flash'd this hybrid recovery and no problem at all.
It works fine.
Thanks for the job.

@WhyOrean - It might be worth including the backup partitions in the Update.bat too so users running Oxygen OS can flash OTA updates (these are checked before being patched).
Code:
fastboot flash abootbak emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot flash hypbak hyp.mbn
fastboot flash pmicbak pmic.mbn
fastboot flash rpmbak rpm.mbn
fastboot flash sbl1bak sbl1.mbn
fastboot flash tzbak tz.mbn
Finally thanks for this

Yep, but fastboot flash rather than recovery flash.
If you're on OOS3 or H2MM and want to move to CM13, fastboot flash the contents of the Oxy2_CM13_Firmware.zip first.

Use latest TWRP for this (3.1.0.0). You can find the download in Sony Cross Device General section.
1 Install it to recovery partition (fastboot flash recovery twrp3100forz5c.img)
2 Boot into twrp (hold power and volume - till the phone vibrates)
3 Backup boot partition with twrp
4 Get boot.emmc.win from twrp backup folder
5 use this file in rootkerneltool
6 follow rootkerneltool guide

1 Install it to recovery partition (fastboot flash recovery twrp3100forz5c.img)
2 Boot into twrp (hold power and volume - till the phone vibrates)
3 Backup boot partition with twrp
4 Get boot.emmc.win from twrp backup folder
5 use this file in rootkerneltool
6 follow rootkerneltool guide

If you wanted to use 32.3.A.0.372 with this method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/recovery-nougat-7-0-android-bootable-t3609358 - you can still use the same recovery image to flash to the recovery partition - just use the kernel for 32.3.A.0.372 - the bootloader kernel is the same for 32.3.A as it is for 32.4.A
