Pretty much this, you can use Titanium Backup to move your games to external storage if you want to, but you need to have root access first.

You can use mode that swaps internal with external.

if i move my game to external using titanium, do my save game exist? or it still detect when the game launch?
thanks for the hints anyways

You can actually, I don't know how well it works but it is indeed a feature in it.

I'm not sure. As I said before I haven't exactly used this feature at all, but data for apps is saved in a different location than where the apps are installed so I guess it would be alright.

That is not moving game data from android data folder to external sd ..its just for apps that dont support app2sd ..it copyes from device to internal sd card not external.

How to move application data to external sdcard?

I bought Galaxy SIII just 5 days ago and installed Omega v11 rom with SiyahKernel v1.4.I started installing apps to test my quad-core phone(Gangstar Rio,Asphalt 7,Modern Combat 3,Mass Effect Inflitrator etc..) ,when i noticed all the appdata were installed at the internal sd(mainly Android/data and Android/obb).I want to have that huge amount of data on my external and not interal sd.If move an app's data to external after it has downloaded them already, the app downloads them again.
If you do a search in the forum, it has been stated that you cannot run apps from your external sd card, with other android phones all you need is a app called app2sd, there are many for free in the play store.
I use gl to sd from the play store. Once moved you then news to open up the games from within the app or once in the app, select mount and hit the home button. Then open apps as normal. Its mainly for gameloft games (gl) but in settings there are also options to move data from the android / data folder as well as select your own custom folders.
There are a few others out there but this was my favourite.

It only works with games or apps that has the option to store additional data to ext. sd.
I think I heard about this in another thread.
Directory Bind. It will not move APKs themselves, but it will move the large data directories for games etc. that you're on about to the external card and correctly set up a bind mount so that it looks like the folder can be found on the internal card. If you use it, save yourself some time and enable the alternative database (something like that) option in its settings.
If you have root and partitioned sd card you have to instal link2sd. This will move the application to the second partition of the sd and creates a link to it. This will help the phone to recognize it as it would be installed on phone but really it would be on sd.
Like a shortcut in windows.

It doesn't move the app to the external card, only the data which is what the OP is asking. The apps themselves are tiny compared to the data, eg 9mm which has data of 2gb. Worked perfect on my S2 and now S3. Moved close to 20gb of data to the external card.
Directory Bind is also good but it would remove settings for me after a reboot. Maybe I was doing something wrong.

you probably misunderstood me, when I say games and apps, i mean as a whole, whether its a game or application download from play store, and not as a individual.
This is also the case with app2sd, the actual program is still in the phone, while the data is in the ext.sd.
thank u for your answers!i will check both glstosd and directorybind and report back...just to clarify,i want to move the applications data, like android/data,android/obb,gameloft to external, not the application itself

If I move my games's data to my Ex Sd Card, Games doesn't open!

help guys. if i move my apps/games data to my external Sd card, apps and games doesn't configure data files. what can i do ?
If you are rooted, have a look look at Directory Bind. It looks. It let's you move the game data to your external sd card.

Hi,
Don't move your data games in mnt/extSdCard, it is not supported by many games and apps (this is mainly known as "*** to SD, like many apps that do this).
Like a game, an app like Beautifull Widget don't move the data to your external storage: it will not work! The app himself is ok but the "data" that the widget needs is unable to "detect" the data needed if it's in the external storage... The game/app must be developed to support it.
Ok, maybe I'm not really clear :silly:

So...Nothing, let all that is for

Data to Ext_SD

Hi all
My internal SD is about to filled up while my Ext_SD still has more than 30Gb available out of 64Gb. I have some very big file in the internal SD such as Co-Pilot navigation's map and several games' files like Asphalt 6 & 7 ect ... Those are really big though
I wonder if there is a way to move all of those big files to the Ext-SD? I've heard of something like partitioning the Ext-SD card but don't know how to do it properly so I would really appreciates any instruction / guidance from you experts in the forum
Thanks a lot
Partitioning the external sd is a good idea but not necessary for our phones. I would move pictures and music over the external sd and see if that gives you anymore room.
You can try clearing out some space using the Amaze Memory Clear app from the market or doing it manually from Settings>Storage scroll down till you find Make More Space from the internal storage. You can clear out HTC app caches and temp data and other things it ask you. You'll be surprised how much crap gets saved.
I appreciates your replied and suggestion. Yes I did all that and all of my multi-media files were always on the external SD - even my Titanium backup folder were set on the external but, still, those games from GameLoft and off-line maps that really took all the spaces.
Thank you BTW

Have you tried using app2sd I use it to free up space on my internel. Take some of the other apps or those itself and transfer them to the ext

Thanks for your input. App2SD only moved app but not it's data. Apps are not a problem in our phone since we have 2,64Gb (internal) partitioned out from the internal SD Card (16Gb) just for apps. More than enough.
It's the data from apps that took spaces and sadly we can not move 'em to the ext-SD. I've also tried the Directory Bind but it's for the SGS2 and it won't works on our phone
Perhaps some of our clever Devs might be interesting of porting the app to our phone someday and that would be great .
Link2SD would be a better option, but it requires kernel support to work.

[Q] sdcard as sdcard1 in file explorer

How come the sd card shows up as sdcard1 under storage instead of just as the primary for sdcard folder in file explorer and why is it that when trying to save downloads from say next browser the external sd is not an accessible option?
External memory cards are NOT primary, the internal flash memory is primary. Android support for external memory is minimal, even games install to internal memory.

You'll have to manually move your files to the external card, that's what I normally do.

File explorer apps or a PC. With a computer it's easier to move files obviously.
However I wasn't referring to game files or apps, because those only check the internal card. If you have music or pics, docs, etc, those can be moved to external manually.

Well, once I readed that you can make the phone think that the location of your games folder is located on the mSD but I lost the info, if I'm not wrong, they used a console command, but I don't know the command he was using.
The thing is that this phone is like a small console, but games take a lot of space, and I use the internal storage of the phone for more important stuff like maps and documents and having such a big card it will be great if you could save games in external storage.
Well, any way thanks thanks again for the replay

[Q] How do I enable App2SD function?

Is this possible? I have a 16GB SD Card and can't do anything with it.
I have exactly the same problem, I bought this phone because of it's adreno 320 GPU. So I would be able to play a lot of games, but pretty soon after buying the phone I discovered that 16 GB of storage wasn't enough. So I bought a 64 GB card. Sadly I haven't been able to move my games to my SD card so I just got kind of stuck. Any info will be greatly appreciated
If you are rooted, you can install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD. It requires you to partition your SD card. I used to use it on my Samsung blaze and it worked quite well.

Yep, using it on my HTC Aria. Pretty much a necessity on that device now, with how big all the apps are these days. I think it has like 110MB of available app storage onboard...

Well it depends on the game, but I use FolderMount to make the game data that's normally stored on the internal SD get stored on the external SD.
This only moves the extra game data that normally gets downloaded for games like asphalt.

Thanks for the reply, can you be a little more specific? As far as I know this phone got an emulated SD card or something like that, that's why apps like link 2 SD doesn't work on the phone, so maybe your method works, but I don't understand how to use it

Link2SD doesn't work? It sees my internal SD, extSD, and, though I'm not using one, a spot for 2nd partition. You sure it doesn't work?
As for FolderMount: it scans the apps on the internal memory and allows you to move the data to the SD while creating a link so the app thinks nothing has moved.
For me it found and allowed me to move the 1GB of asphalt 8 data to the SD.

Thanks a lot, right now I'm using folder mount, and it moved 12gb of games files into my SD, that really worked out pretty well, thanks again for giving the folder mount advice. And yes, apps2SD doesn't works properly, at least not in my phone
