I'm a noob so I cant message in the development forum.
Is anyone else having issues flashing the rooted stock ICS zip? Info- Rooted and S-OFF using revolutionary, TWR, Eng and updated to the lastest radios (ICS) and SU.
After installing ICS I get stuck on the yellow and white sprint 3D screen and then the phone reboots over and over and over...?
thanks for the help!

You need to flash the newest hboot (1.58) through the bootloader

That should work but it might be worth flashing the RUU rather than the piecemeal update of ROM, firmware and hboot as separate zips. You will need to reflash your custom recovery afterwards, but that's pretty easy since you stay S-OFF after running the RUU, then you can flash a rooted ROM. That will make sure your phone is 100% in sync with the Sprint ICS update.

There is a list of ROMs under Android Development thread (CDMA or GSM). You can downloaded official stock unrooted ROMs or stock rooted ROMs.
if you do it will change your hboot and relock your evo but you will still have s off and yes you will loos root but you can root it and regain s off by going through the steps at alpharevolutionary.io and reinstall your custom recovery aswell

I've been trying to flash some of these new roms such as Cool ICS and SolidRom MyUI, both to no avail. I am on h-boot 1.4 with s-off. The last successful rom I had running on the phone was ICS MIUI. I had tried flash these roms on ext4 initially, then I tried twrp and both without success. Any tips/suggestions to get one of these roms to work?
Do I need a newer h-boot in order to flash these newer roms with newer kernels? If so, then how/what do I flash without losing s-off?
Well here goes nothing...going to try jbear's 1.58 hboot.
I still get bootloop after installing Cool ICS...
Getting bootloop with SolidRom MyUI as well. Could use some help please.

Yup, did a full wipe for prior to flashing every new rom. I have actually gotten SolidRom to work after installing the ICS firmware update img, but I still can't get Cool ICS to work.

If you are s-off then this should be easy to fix.
Some HBOOTs can only work for certain firmwares.
So if you want to run a ICS rom, you need to upgrade your hboot to either stock hboot 1.58, or Jbear's 1.58.5858
To upgrade your hboot, download the correct hboot from ramjet73's post here then rename the file to PG86IMG with the files extension as .ZIP
Place that on the root of your SDcard and boot into your bootloader. Accept the update, then restart your phone.
***EDIT***
I wasn't correct on some of the hboots and got some mixed up with the gsm EVO, for more info on hboots go to the link which ramjet73 has posted below.
I HOPED THIS HELPS!
MY PHONE
HTC EVO 3D
S-OFF and UNLOCKED
ROM: Team D.I.R.T. Unofficial AOKP v3.3
KERNEL: ButteredToasT-RLS v13.6
HBOOT: 1.40.0000
RECOVERY: 4EXT Touch Recovery

Then there are the newer firmwares that everyone has been having a fit over, 1.50, 1.58.0000, 1.53, 1.58.5858 (this is the Juopunutbear's custom hboot)
Those are the hboots that run only SPRINT/VM ICS roms.

You might want to read through this thread to get the correct information on CDMA hboots. Most of those you mentioned are Sprint bootloaders (the only VM bootloaders are 1.57 and JBear 1.57.5757) but 1.53 is for GSM phones only.

Yeah, I figured I wasn't fully correct with some of the information. I'm gonna go to that thread you linked out and study. Thank you!
Leogy,
Currently I'm on 2.13 s-off, hboot 1.19, and TWRP on a stock rom. I want to jump up to jb but I dont know if I can just flash something like JellyBam through twrp or if i need to manually update to 3.15.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Update your firmware using the thread below. Use the first link under 'Firmware Downloads'. This will update your radio and PRI. Your Hboot will remain the same. Once you've done this you can start flashing whatever JB ROM you wish

No problem
Edit: Once you've run the update through the bootloader, make sure you delete the PJ75IMG.zip off of your SD card so it doesn't try to run the update again the next time you are in the bootloader.

Hi!
Actually I have rooted my HTC Evo 3D that has a Swisscom Android 2.3.4 Firmware.
I was wondering, if I apply the updates that are available (Android 4.0.3), will I loose the root? (seems to be the case)
(I've just rooted my phone, I've kept the original ROM)
But more important will my device that is S-Off be S-On again?
Thanks for help and reply
If you use the ota or ruu you will lose root but if memory serves me you can't upgrade while unlocked anyways. There are upgrades on here that will allow you to keep root though. Search for the pg86img that captain throwback posted. Flash it. Update hboot to 1.58.58 wipe all partitions reboot recovery then flash ics ROM. Although not all ics roms require 1.58+ hboot. Read the op of the ROM you plan on flashing and it should state requirements. Aosp ics and jb use 1.5 and lower hboots.
Hope this helps.

That's probably the easiest solution.
You will not loose s off by upgrading/downgrading or running the ruu
If you run ruu...everything goes back to stock, you WILL stay s off. You will loose root though, so you'll need to install a recovery, and flash super user....you do not have to unlock boot loader again, since you're s off

Hey Everyone,
This is my first actual post on xda but these forums have helped me with many things that have come up with during my time with Android
I recently installed CM 10.1.3 RC2 for my HTC EVO 4g LTE and couldn't find a good guide to going back to the stock software that I had before. Nothing is wrong with CM but I just prefer sense for this device.
To install CM I unlocked my bootloader with HTC DEV and flashed twrp 2.4.1.0 according to CM's guide. I installed GooManager for access to the twrp bootloader but from their I'm confused as to how to revert back to stock htc sense. I downloaded the latest RUU for my device so if anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

You can flash a Sense ROM. There are quite a few to choose from. If you want to go back stock and unrooted, you can run a RUU. If you're on the latest Hboot, you'll have to S-off and run VipeRUU to get you back to stock, since there is no RUU for the latest OTA.
Also, there is no such thing as a "TWRP bootloader". TWRP is your recovery

No. The RUU is run from your computer. Custom ROM's are installed through TWRP.

Then flash through recovery. It will get you back to stock.

If he's on the latest OTA and flashes that ROM his touch screen won't work...............
He needs the 3.16 software version, not 3.15.

No. It's a "stock" ROM, not a RUU. If you truly want to go back completely stock, get S-off and then use the tool in the link below. If you simply want a stock-feeling Sense ROM, check out the development threads-there are plenty.
Here is the link to VipeRUU. You must be S-off to use it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197909
It would also be helpful if you posted your Hboot and radio (baseband) version.

Just use the VipeRUU and don't mess with your phone as its happening. ( you won't be able to use it for 30mins+ during the process.
