I have an evo 3d rooted running android 4.0.3 (sprint version) S-off, it's my first smartphone so it has been a learning experience. My problem is basically with non htc live wallpapers force closing when i attempt to change the settings for them. At one point my Htc live wallpapers app WAS frozen because i never used it but I fixed that with TBU. I have been messing with this issue for about 2 hours with es file explorer and looking online for similar problems, i checked the FAQ here and couldn't find anything. I did see some info regarding logcats and I'd be more than willing to try that route to track the problem down. Again all htc live wallpapers are 100% functional, i tried using live wallpaper picker but had some install problems and never got past the wp selection screen. Any help is greatly appreciated... (all apk's were placed in system/app/ with the permissions changed)
Edit: I got live wallpaper picker to work without FC, now the only problem is the settings for non factory lwp's causing FC.

Hi,
Having recently updated to 2.1 on my hero (not a moment too early I must say), I notice that the "Wallpaper Set and Save" App no longer sets wallpapers uncropped.
Do anyone know of a similar solution? The main minus on this phone as far as I'm concerned is that damn auto-cropping so I'd LOVE to be able to avoid that again
Hi there, I was wondering if someone would generously modify, or port if you will, the Photowall.apk (provided from: here ) that the Samsung Galaxy SIII uses for it's mesmerizing and amazing live wallpaper to enable the live wallpaper to use photos from the gallery.
As of right now the only way I've found out to use your own or custom photos is to manually select photos, rename them to the same names that are used by the default live wallpaper photos, and recompile the Photowall.apk with the new photos. There are but three problems with this method.
The first problem is that you have to create a new rom to flash the .apk to system/app/ as it cannot be installed by just simply executing the .apk from a file manager, the unmodified Photowall.apk can however.
The second problem is that the live wallpaper can not use more than 8 photos, and will only have 8 photos to choose from. This gets kinda annoying to see two of the same photos being used.
The last problem, as stated before, is the fact that you cannot use the option of using photos from gallery in the settings of the live wallpaper.
I should have previously mentioned that the rom I am using for my Atrix is unofficial CM9 beta 7.1 by Jokersax (an amazing rom by the way), and the live wallpaper works perfectly except the problems stated before (the transitioning to other photos has no problems, or the randomizing tile space for the photos have no problem as well) and a little lag when waking the device.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post, and Thanks in advance if you help me out.

Danke!
I don't know when it started, but i can definitely say it was after I unlocked and rooted the phone. I can see the articles just not the pictures in the tiles. They are grey with the article title. In setting, generic icon is shown for the news providers.
I fooled around a little in the system looking at the folder structures and tried to add a newer version of the play store to system/app. Did not work original came back and play store would not start. I reset the to factory and all was good. I later noticed BlinkFeed was not displaying pics. I have reset the phone, changed setting in BlinkFeed and tried fixing permissions. I'm lost, don't know if it was something I did.
Anybody else having similar problems?
Not sure if this applies but I screwed up my Zoe configuration last night when I moved files in an event through ES Explorer instead of through the gallery. I couldn't get things straightened out (tried restarting Zeroedit / Gallery, clearing data caches, cleaning up files in /sdcard/Android for Zoe) and just reinstalled the ROM altogether. Working again like a charm.
I would suggest not messing with any files associated with BlinkFeed through third-party apps. Don't use BlinkFeed myself so cannot say for sure.
Sent from my HTC One
My blinkfeed wouldn't work either after root... All you have to do is go to apps clear cache
That and redo setup blinkfeed..all mine did was keep trying to update
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Mine started doing it today (sense 6.0) but I have been rooted for ages

If you have a firewall app, such as DroidWall, you need to let HTC Sense and HTC Share through. I had that issue on my Butterfly S until I figured it out.
One more annoyance at FireOS I found is... no live wallpaper. There's no provision for it, as there's no Live Wallpaper Picker.
I tried downloading one from Play Store and it just crashes on me, and yes, I have Nova Launcher (Prime) so I know it *should* work unless there's something up with the underlying OS.
So, any one gotten LWP working?
no luck here either... but at least it keeps me from wasting my battery on it....
I'm troubleshooting the very problem. It seems to be a problem with the way the screen size is reported to the o/s.Here is some generic information related to the subject:

Hello Professionals,
I already searched for my problem here but sadly found nothing useful....
A few days ago i wanted to change the lock screen wallpaper with the default gallery which is installed on android phones, And every time it wanted to change the wallpaper, screen goes black and says: Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working.
I also tired to change my home screen wallpaper and same problem... So screen goes black ONLY when i wanted to change wallpaper, hadn't any problem with viewing pictures.
The first thing i did was downloading a program called Image 2 Wallpaper and it worked fine. I tried to solve Gallery problem with Clearing cache and stuff but no lucks, i unmounted the SD card and rebooting the phone but still nothing.
I searched a bit and found Gallery3D.apk and replaced it with the original version in /system/app/ and set the permission with root explorer and rebooted the phone and BAMMM, gallery was completely dead and even i couldn't open it up cuz of Black screen and this ****: Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working (my problem was with changing the wallpaper but it was dead now)
I also tried to delete both of Gallery3D.odex and Gallery3D.apk and replaced them with other files which i found in internet but none of them worked, still black screen . I'm using Android 4.0.3 with KH3 (because i saw one guy in XDA said android 4.0.3 with KH3 are the best for Galaxy s2 and it will reduce the battery draining)
I tried to use other programs like 3D Gallery Pro and QuickPic but didn't like them
I'm not able to factory reset my phone cuz of stuff and can't use USB for upgrading or downgrading the software version, So if there is any other ways, for love of god let me know.
lol, look what i've found:
I think I've found the culprit behind this error and all other similar errors reported. This is happening when "Force GPU rendering" under "Settings->Developer Options" is checked. Once "Force GPU rendering" check box is unchecked force close issues dissappear.
He is right, Force GPU rendering was checked for me, btw i deleted the gallery3d.apk and gallery3d.odex, Can anyone upload them for me please? (as i said im on android 4.0.3 with KH3)

UPDATE=>
Ok guys, i found the Gallery3D.apk and Gallery3D.odex from a chinese site, and i moved them to system/app via root explorer and set the permission, But it doesn't appear in my application list after reboot... What am i doing wrong ?

(great !!!!!! Its completely missing from Application Manager !)
