I don't think T-Mobile works on the Rezound. The majority of T-Mobile is 1700 MHz which the Rezound can't pick up.

3G stopped working???

Rooted user with original rom
Prl was 21081 and no real mods to speak of...all of a sudden my 3G would not sync with exchange and then no regular pushes would work either.
I had to switch to 4g which is really weak in my area but it then started working again.
Went to an area without 4g yesterday and was without email for 4 hours.
That really sucked! Went to the 11115 pro and 3G is working again.
I had to also revert back to the old epst to get that working as well.
I read where others had similar issues but they had either changed roms or did a prl update from 21081 to a newer version.
I did none of those...it just stopped working and this was my fix for now!
I'm pretty sure 11115 is much better than the newer PRL's. Sprint is screwing up with the PRL's instead of making things better. I would stick with that.
I just got off the phone with CS. Same **** happened to me. Now I'm stuck with the damn roaming icon plus 1x
1X
I'm in the same boat. Stuck on 1X as of yesterday evening. Called CS yesterday and they wasn't able to help. They claim my area was fine. I will be giving them another call today when I get off. The 3G on my OG Evo and ny Nexus 4G works fine.
PS I also tried different PRLs even the hybrid PRL still 1X stuck.

Weird 3G data issue..no 3G data w/LTE off.

I have rooted my EVO LTE using HTC Dev and S-OFF with Lazy Panda. I applied the De-odexed STOCK 1.22.651.3 ROM and 1.05.11.0606 radio. When I toggle LTE off, I have no 3G data, but with LTE on data works fine. With LTE enabled, "Network Signal Info" reports net type as EHRPD. With LTE toggled off, net type is listed as EVDO Rev A, with a data state of disconnected.
Can anyone help me here?
How are you even able to toggle LTE off?

I DO realize that leaving the phone in LTE/CDMA mode will solve my problem. But for battery life reasons, I prefer to leave my phone in CDMA mode only until LTE is "switched on".
J
HTC has already said there would be no difference with lte/cdma being on. It's not like there's two different radios on at the same time. Cdma and lte are both built in the same chip. Just leave it alone...no need for the tinkering.

Something tells me the "fix" for my 3G data problem will be wiping my phone and reloading the 1.13.651.1 RUU and waiting for the bugs to be worked out.
Call Sprint and have them reset your data connection.

There's no difference in battery UNLESS you have LTE connection. LTE will drain the battery a lot faster.
OP, if you don't have LTE, just keep it on. As long as you aren't using it, you won't drain any faster.

I suppose I COULD leave the data connection to CDMA/LTE, but that kind of defeats my initial question. I think I might go for a drive and see if it's perhaps just the local tower causing me issues, or if this "bug" persists outside my home turf.

After profile update switch Moble Network mode.

Did you find a fix?
I have found that after I update my profile this happens to me also. Same thing 2 phones rooted. or not rooted, s-off or not s-off. Don't matter.
Just switch to CDMA only if you updated on LTE/CDMA. Or switch to LTE/CDMA if you updated on CDMA only. This works for me, don't know why but it does. Every time! Also have found that after some time I can switch back and all is well.
Hope this helps

Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one with problems. As the saying goes, misery loves company.
As for now, I'm thinking I might just run run the RUU and go back to stock 1.13.651.1 (unrooted) for a while and see how things fare. I can "deal" without root access for a few weeks, and who knows, maybe by then the DEV community will have found a way to S-OFF the new 1.22.651.3 OTA update. I'm in the greater Boston market and we're due to have LTE switched on VERY soon. I'll save a Nandroid backup of my current s-off/rooted 1.22.651.3 in case I want to visit this in the future.

No need to s-on and ota update over this bro. Don't think an ruu will help, did not change it for me. Its not a big problem. And I think its a network bug not phone. But I have a right to be wrong.

Ok so with my CDMA only & LTE/CDMA dilemma behind me, my phone is now switching the 3G on to send and receive MMS messages. This is the first time I've seen this with my EVO LTE. Previously my MMS messages were sent and received via WiFi, which was noticeably faster. DO you have any tips to help me in this scenario?
Justin
I have had the same issue and haven't been able to resolve it.
I had 3G up until last Tuesday in Minnesota and talked with Sprint. They tried to reset my phone and then tried to do the hands free activation and it failed. I flew to Dallas for vacation, turned on the phone and it activated in less than 30 seconds.
Returned back from Dallas and still no 3G in Minnesota (Minneapolis and Central MN).
I do have my MSL, but any tips on how to get 3G data back again?

To slow

How can I get more speed can't listen to Pandora, Google music keeps stopping, can't watch videos...help!! Hboot 1.4 MeanRom ICS 2.4
You are on 3g, your speeds are about expected in a medium area.
4g or wifi is your answer.
It SAYS 3G but was so much faster before then some how prl updated last month and now too slow..last night I flashed ics radio but still SLOW..I can make a phone call I can hear people fine but they say I cut in and out...getting truly depressed about this. Should I flash back to a rooted stock Rom? Or could I flash another radio? Help..my son has evo 4g not rooted he has issues now trying to watch u-tube videos(I think its xxx) what can I do 3hrs away from 4g no WiFi..phone was my internet..no go now!!
Complain to Sprint, lol just kidding that will never help. Almost everyone's 3g speeds suck but some have ran the 3g turbocharger scipt and it has helped them (I've never noticed any difference)
Sent from my Rooted S - OFF Evo 3D
Hit that thanks button if I helped.
Should I change prl or radio..I used the new radio/hw for ICS can I change radio back to 530 and then change prl
There is nothing you can do, except switch carriers. Sprint's 3g network is absolutely awful. I personally haven't gotten above 100kbps on 3g in over 2 years now. Email [email protected] and complain that sprint is not holding up their end of the contract, and they should let you out of your contract ETF free so you can switch carriers.
Will try Dan that but after hrs with Sprints tech support and no luck got nothing to loose..10+ years and do not see anything getting any better..and the rumors of Apple wanting to buy them..paying 10 bucks for damn 4G that's never gonna happen sucks. And now they are pushing LTE That also will never be in my service area. Sprints Solution was to get airwave think they called it but why do I have to get more crap just to use the service I already pay for. I just want the speeds I had before the prl was pushed to our phones. Atleast I was able to stream music and watch movies , not the blazing speed they claimed but was watching/streaming daily. Have not been able to any more flipping sucks..

[Q] How to enable GSM mode?

I warrantied out my first rezound due to the vibrating not working anymore, and my replacement arrived, and its updated to the latest OTA 3.14.605.12, and when i go into mobile network, I only get the choice of LTE/CDMA and CDMA. I remember on my last phone, when i went in there, I had the option of selecting GSM and other options...
I thought the .12 version enabled world options to allow using GSM bands? Maybe I'm confused... I'm trying to get it up and running on a straight talk sim (at&t)
This will give you gsm option: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
This one to get 3G working: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914122
Thanks!
Found that the other day and forgot to post back here. Got straight talk working on edge. Call quality was great, signal great. Wanted faster speeds so i tried the 3G thing and got HSPA working, but signal was absolutely horrible and cut in and out non-stop to where it was not usable 95% of the time. Straight talk is not worth it for me because the edge data speeds are almost unbearable for this phone (maxed at 0.12Mbps if i could get it to even register). HSPA i clocked it up at around 8-9Mbps, but that would work for 10-15 second bursts between switching to 3g and back to edge, and back to 3g, and back to hspa. It was very frustrating, so back on verizon I am. Trying to save money somehow but can't seem to shake verizon for the life of me. Nothing compares to the speeds and consistent signal strength.

Rezound and Net10 AT&T GSM prepaid SIM

So my contract is up in two days and I am looking at switching to a Net10 AT&T prepaid SIM service... Any real concerns or issues? I am on latest firmware and radios and running Infection 2.9.1 ROM.
Anybody doing this, comments or wish you had done it differently?
Probably going to pull the trigger in this today unless any red flags go up.
BTW, number porting is not an issue. I'm just going to move my VZW number to Google Voice once everything is working properly.
EDIT: ordered SIM and $50 unlimited card, should be here tomorrow. Hope all goes well...

I think it is. I'm not 100% but I guess you'll see when you use your sim card.

The Rezound out of the box supports the 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands, which are used internationally for 3G and HSPA+. In the US, AT&T uses the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz bands, and T-Mobile uses 1700 MHz and 1900 MHz. The Rezound is great as a global phone, but it's always been limited to EDGE data in the US. This has never changed with firmware and radio updates.
The methods in the thread referenced earlier will let you get the 850 MHz band working with a very non-optimized, weak signal. That means you'll sometimes have 3G or HSPA+ on AT&T. But unless someone figures out how to optimize the signal there, you're probably still going to be stuck with EDGE most of the time.

I don't think anyone is going to find a way to optimize it for a stable connection for a while. The thread has been very quiet for a while now. Some users did get different results and I read through the thread and some people got better signal using a calibrated sensation nv file.

Hmmm... Unfortunately it appears this isn't going to work as I hoped.
What's working: Voice and SMS out of the box... MMS, Data (2G Edge, speeds in the range of 15k to 50K) with some tweaking in the APN settings.
I tried the tweaks in the other thread and changing the NV settings, it would say it connected at HSPA+ and pull an IP address, but even with the AT&T tower less than a 1/2 mile in direct line of sight from my office window it would never open a web page or work with any app that required a network connection and signal strength was in the nether regions according to Network Signal Info.
Oh well... guess it was worth a shot.

Pretty sure I got everything right. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get everything to work on 2g , and I was able to pull an IP address when it said HSPA, I just couldn't stay connected or get any data through. Spent about 2 or 3 hours working on it this afternoon and finally gave up.
