yupp you got it right. just pull the apps out of the rom zip and install them through any file manager if the apps don't work then its because they rely on certain files other than the apps themselfs such as framework and whatnot so they will never work unless you do a whole bunch of other stuff. experiment and find out

thanks for the secondary on that, i was semi-sure but i feel reassured now an im gonna give it a swing.. only thing that sucks for me is that they are not labeled as "Sony" apk's within the ROM zip file so this may take a while ='/ lol..!
thanks Bill for uploading that Sony Walkman Music Suite, I'm gonna give it a shot on MeanROM 4.8 and make sure it's working..!!
edit: YAYY IT WORKS..!!
Pimp my ROM gives you options like that to add Sony apps

Hello there people, i would love to have my gingerbread gallery and music apps on the new indian ddulp8 firmware ,
is there any methaod by which i can use them to replace the stock jellybean gallery and music apps?
plz any help !! :crying: :crying:
Most likely they wont work due to framework changes try 3rd party alternatives from play if you don't like new ones .

Probably you can't use with just an apk, it needs some different libraries.Try an 3rd party app.

[Q] how to install stock rom on my Xperia sola?

i'm seeing all these unnecessary applications in my xperia sola which i cannot even uninstall
there are two browsers even which sony is endorsing apparently
their default browser and chrome
all these extra applications must slow down the system

and any drawbacks???
you can install stock ics on your device just download the stock ftf file for you device and flash it using flashtool for proper guide use the search bar its on your wish what u want to use you want to use stock ics or jb if you having much of unnecesary applications then try custom rom which have removed the extra stuff if you have an unlocked bootloader then you can also go for cyanogenmod
or get root premissions to delete unnecessary apps

[ROM] [ICS Stock] [GSM] ZEUS-Z1mix [dload link fixed

This ROM is a system backup of stock ics 4.0.4 (use any stock ics kernel once it's stock compatible) from CWM
Must be restored too much work to put together by user multiple patches could be a bit tricky
for those who need help on how to restore:fingers-crossed:
Restore
download and unzip ROM place the folder "2013-09-16.17.07.21" in "sdcard/clockworkmod/backup"
reboot into recovery wipe system data cache and dalvik go to backup and restore and select restore
Features
Small apps:highfive: (FC on videomall will fix and certain small apps dont appear but majority works)
JB animations
X-Reality Engine
Zeus Engine
Per app DPI
Honami widgets and systemui
Dual panel already setup
Xperia V Walkman
Xposed Framework
Viper FX and HiFi
Xperia Go settings mod
Touch pads everything works
Be warned RAM is good but as you know small apps use RAM as well you can obtain 200MB and over once you use Rebooter to kill apps
Creits
@Pandemic for xperia go settings and JB animations @AeonWorld for good looking small apps and task manager @Aneel for Honami Ports

After some days i found a bug, when you try to chose a wallpaper on the gallery it causes fc
waiting for flashable zip...how is the gaming?resizing apps are working like in the pic?! thanks

Very good rom
I love dual panel in settings. Goes better with landscape mode but it looks good in portrait too. It makes the Xperia Play look like it has a much bigger screen resolution
Small apps are a bit unstable, specially when recizing (mini browser), but otherwise they work properly. Mini browser doesnt load some images even when having showing images enabled and doesn't have back button, but that's app related, not rom issues.
Good gaming performance and smooth ui. I discovered ui gets much much smoother with lulzactive governor, you notice the change immediately. This is a great rom for daily use
Will the development of this rom continue???
Forgot to mention that I had another issue installing/upgrading apps with Google Play (something like "an error occurred with network feedback SED 11" which I can't remember exactly ), BUT IT GETS FIXED by rewiping cache and dalvik cache after installing this rom (you ovbously have to wipe it before install).
And again, good rom!!!
Hi all, i have an Xperia Play R800a only Rooted but not BL Unlocked, i want to install this ROM, i want to know if my phone is capable for this ROM and if yes, what kernel is the best for it?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!

About xperia p optipizing, or installing android 4.4 or 5.0

Hello,
I was wondering I have xperia P with android 4.1.2.
Google maps for example is working a bit laggy on this phone can this be fixed?
Should I try installing a rom for android 4.4 or maybe 5.0?
I don't know wich one I need to install for best allround performance for this phone or is stockrom good enough??
Any idea guys?
I allready tried in the past some cyanide mod rom but my phone didn't boot anymore luckely I could let it work again with flashtool64
Any tips? Or can I just optimize this phone with special applications for rooted phones?
Greetings Avanox
In my opinion you should stay on stock rom. I have used both 4.4 and 5.1 but the stock 4.1.2 is most stable among them.
You should root your phone, make TA backup (in case you haven't unlocked bootloader in the past) then unlock bootloader.
Install Nemesis kernel.
Remove all unnecessary bloatwares.
Add these lines to build.prop
dalvik.vm.verify-bytecode=false
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=v=n,o=v,m=y

Flash this zip https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByS_TYUaHe5SWi1HaE5qMUYwWVE/view?usp=docslist_api
Factory reset the phone.
My phone is allready rooted, and also unlocked.
Where can I install nemesis kernel??
I had an alternative app to remove bloatware ,
But what apps should I remove that are bloatware?
Oh and I have android 4.1.2 running on this phone.
What is this zip flash thing for??
Greetings Avanox

You can flash the kernel in fastboot mode from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...nel-nemesis-kernel-v6-3-revised-21-2-t2214141
Also you can use any root file manager to delete apps from the system partition of your phone. I'm using ES file manager 3.2.5.5 (old version) because the new version is bloated itself. I don't exactly remember how many app I have removed but after deleting them I have the following apps (attached in screenshots) in system/app. Note that there are three extra apps - ESExp.apk, CPU.apk, Superuser.apk. The first one is file manager app, the second one is No frills CPU control app, and the last is SuperSU. Also I have updated Play Store (Phonesky.apk) and Google Play Services (GmsCore.apk) to the versions 6.7.13.E-all and 9.0.82(034) respectively and moved it to the system replacing the older versions. You can find both on www.apkmirror.com. I have also deleted apps from system/etc/product and system/etc/customization.
The zip contains Xperia keyboard 6.4.A.1.44, Xperia Home launcher 5.1.A.0.20 and Dialer app without any lag.
You can find build.prop in /system/build.prop and edit with a text editor. Those lines will allow ported Keyboard and Dialer app to work without getting FC.
