Hey guys.
How much mhA is the best?
USB Charging / normal charging.
To much can Destroy my battery?!

Default one is the best.
Serious?
If I use the default settings it needs a lot of time to charge my S3 (specially via USB Charging).
It seems before I root my smartphone it charged faster (via USB).

when I went on holiday I needed quick charge I knocked it up one setting and it was fine. A bit hot at times but nothing major, no damage no fires. Took about 60-90 mins to fully charge
Edit: USB charge does take longer anyway. (I'd maybe knock USB charging current down a bit, looks a bit high maybe)

it's safe to change the USB charging even at 900mA just not over 1,000mA

Hello,
I just installed ReVolt and the charge rate is just ridiculous. I can manually change the charge rate but before I do I need too know a few things. The first thing is on stock charger what is the Input Current? The second thing is what is the charging current, (the current going from the phone to the battery).
I know the risks and I'm not stupid I just need to know so I will not damage my charger and battery.
Have a read on the charger itself. It should say how many amps or A it charges at.

I dont know input but at output is 1A at 5V
Since u mentioned u know the risks, can u please give me a brief on em?
Whars the max that can happen?
And is the super fast charge worth it?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
On my previous phone I blew the battery from pushing too much current into it after I changed the charging current. I put 800 and my battery could only handle 650. On my previous phone the charger melted and almost caused a fire because I changed the input current to a higher number instead of using the right one.
I just want to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again. So for those who mock or who are rude just stop. Not everyone is a pro. Does anyone know the input current of the stock battery for the Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 while charging? What is a safe number. I'm using an app which doesn't show the right values.

I found the charger rate but I want too know the charge rate of the battery. How much current can the stock battery accept?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
1000 mah normal charging and 475 mah with usb
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I might as well enjoy long charges if no one knows the battery rate. I know the charger rate.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I use mine on default rate for mains and 900ma thru USB and it charges just fine and safely.
So long as the USB is capable of supplying 900ma (most modern PCs can) then there shouldn't be a problem.
I've heard of people using higher rates (mains is 1A, USB 500ma by default) than above but this can be dangerous, for both you and your phone.

For a while my phone is taking a lot much time to charge than it usually take earlier.
So today i installed this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abmantis.galaxychargingcurrent.free
And after i connect my mobile to charger this app usually shows that my phone is having max current:400/500 which shud be 999 instead. (Read app description)
After i disconnect charger and connect it back 3-4 times i get a rating of 700 or sometimes even 900(max) but after letting the mobile charge for a while this automatically decreases to 300-400.
And also from the time i bought the phone(4 months back) charger usually gets somewhat hot(not warm) but i ignored that issue.
So what do u think the fault is in-charger/phone?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Do not use such an application, let the phone discharge to zero to turn off and recharge to full.
mostly help. Please use the phone menu
charging problems are mainly related to cable!

The app has 10000+ downloads and my friend suggested so i thought of giving it a try
After the battery fully discharges and phone turn off shud i turn on the phone after connecting to charger or shud i let be off till it charges completely?

No need to use this.
just delete the cache occasionally a classic way to charge your phone battery runs down.
It does not have to be zero!!
yeah me too using BB cable. better than many original samsung cables.

Sorry for being noobish but how to delete cache?
By going to application manager> running>show cached processes and then deleting of every program one by one?

If you do calibrate batteries and erase cache, the system will be as before.
Have tried both i.e. cleared cache and charged completely frm 2%
But it almost took 6-7 hours
So is the problem in cable?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Cable
Charger
Usb Port
Battery are all possible causes of very slow charge .
jje
yes it's the cable. many samsung customers including me faced the same problem. just change the cable.

I was wondering if there is an app/option that can tell you how fast the phone is charging, the amperage if the charge and/or the rate
I have a feeling one of my galaxy s1 wall bricks ifs dying but I can't tell for sure and the damn connections on the charging cables are too small for me to use a multimeter
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
galaxy charging current does.
you can also go to /sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_now you can get the same results. oddly, both show 460 when not charging.
Dashclock has a battery extension which shows battery and charging info.... See if that helps

Hello friends today I will tell you how u can charge your note 2 very fast.. As we all know note 2 takes quite a long time to charge.. So I will tell u a simple trick to charge your note 2 faster than ever...
What u have to do just replace your Samsung's data cable to nokia's data cable.. now many people will ask me what's the difference in those data cable.. guyzz there is a big logic behind this..
In samsung's data cable there are just 4pins in pin.. But in nokia's or in lg's data cable there are 5pins in pin that's why they charge very fast.. Take a look on picture I have lg's data cable and it have 5pins in pin..
So guyzz just use nokia's or lg's data cable to charge your note 2 very fast.. believe me guyz it really works..
Hit thanks if I helped you...

I think it should have been posted in general thread
(How to) charge your note 2 faster...
Use a 2+amp charger. Anything else will take longer.

It's true

It's true. I am using the cable from my old HTC phone and it takes 2-2.5 hours to charge the phone. It will take 5-6 hours if Samsung cable is used.
how does having 5 pins help in charging faster ?
ultimately on the other end there are only 4 pins right ?

I believe it might increase the phone temp

Download "Galaxy Charging current" from the play store and you should get 1800 mA as your max and current if it's lower than that then you should replace your cable with a note 2 original cable just like what happened to me suddenly my note 2 needed 8 hours to charge now it's back to 2 hour \o/
My charger takes me a hour and a half to charge incredible I purchased it at handtec and honestly its amazing

i'm using Anker Astro E5 15000mAh External Battery USB cable... Trust Me... very fast charging:good:
i though best is using the galaxy current charging app to see the power current charging rate between 1600-1800 ?
does this LG 5 pin cable charging rate between 1600~1800mAh ?
Wont the charging tweaks fill in the hypothetical gap of both the pins in the cable? I mean im sure you can simply adjust the kernel to push out a higher current, or will the higher current be limited by the Samsung cable?
Actually yes! Just use persues kernel. You can reduce input voltage to as low as 0.3amp and as high as 2.1 amp. N2 Charges by default at 1.8amp.

As per my point of view its all misconceptions ......as long as ur phone is getting more than 1600 mamp current it will fast charge with any of the cables ...and if ur getting less than that it will charge slow ...so instead keep an eye on that ...as soon as it starts reducing check the cable .....
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I charge in less than 2 hours with a charger I bought at a shop nearby.and it has the HTC usb attached
I agree to Manish
I agree to Manish.. check first in galaxy chaging current app what you are getting. Currently im using a 3 in 1 usb cable and Im getting 1800mah using the 2.1amp charger and 1200 if I connected it to the usb port of my laptop.
I cant use my phone and charge at the same time it discharges and my battery life is not too good.
Is this because my battery is more than a year old ? If it is I would like to know so I can buy a new battery
If it isnt then I wouldnt like to waste money on buying a new battery

Try another battery .
BATTERY LIFE.
BETTER BATTERY STATS

Also I use a iPhone wall adapter with a blackberry usb cable I lost my charger maybe thats the reason it doesn't charge properly
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
if the battery drain is alright when the phone is not charging, you should maybe first try to use another charging method! I had exactly the same problem even with original samsung usb cable. I changed it to an older samsung charging cable (galaxy ace) and everything worked perfect again.
Good luck!
Ok thanks ill grab another charger and see if it makes a difference

New charger definitely! Watch out for the output of the charger, should be in the same range as your original!
Okay its confirmed my charger was too weak im currently charging using a blackberry charger for q5 and its fast as lighting no problem with using the phone and the battery draining when plugged in
So if anyone has the same problem its due to the charger
