Hi guys,
Just got a notification about an update was thinking it was jelly bean but it was LH1 which was released back in august.
Just wanting to know if everyone got pushed to this update recently or was I just delayed for the last 2 months due to my location of Australia ?
The phone is the international unlocked version so I assumed I should be recieving the updates with those guys.
Either way for jelly bean I can flash it myself im just wanting to know if the delay was from my location ?
Cheers

Most likely, OTA updates are CSC based.
You can always flash it yourself with ODIN and proper ROMs. Jelly Bean is out only for Poland CSC so far.
Cheers.-
CSC is not the update path ..
Generally a rollout is not a worldwide roll out on day one .
Samsung release a rom its handed to the networks /phone providers they decide if and when it will be released .
LH1 was pushed out as a modem update initially for a problem with some UK phones .

hi i was waitin for the ics update ota in uk simfree debranded. i have not got the update today so will flashing the poland software be all right !
should be released pretty soon...you can safely update from KIES thereafter...
or else if you already know flashing via ODIN... the polish version works just fine...
preferably to a factory reset ...after flashing
Personal choice would be to wait for a newer release .
jje
thanks so much ! the update will be coming later today?
ICS Latin America
Hello.
Of the published ROMS, which of these is the most recommended for Latin America?
I believe Samsung failed again to keep the dates.
I am waiting for the UK update all day and still nothing.
Does anyone know when this will be released?

On their Facebook page, they said it would be released week commencing 19th March not ON 19th March.

Stick with GB for now. From various reviews on here, there's some disappointment and GB is as stable as you'll get for now.

Hello guys!
I have Galaxy S3 I9300 GSMH.
It's unbranded, i made a research in the forum and it's supposed to be a factory unlocked phone. following the coment "But as such there is no restriction to use any ROM for any country if your device is unlocked(carrier restriction free)" by dr.ketan in http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1801022
My actual firmware installed is the UBBLG2. It's running ICS 4.0.4.
So, here is the thing, I need to know if I can stall any Official Firmware from Samsung with Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
1. What Official firmware should I install?
2. Should I change the CSC too? indicated in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1646610
3. Can I install the latest Firmware from the I9300UBBLG2 - ICS 4.0.4? Or do I need to update to another firmware version before going for the 4.1.1?
5. will this affect future update notifications by Samsung and Android?
Looking at these site and post we know the lastest firmware is I9300XXDLIB. Should I go with this one?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1646610
Will be this useful to root 4.1.1? http://getmovil.com/android/galaxy-s3-root/
Last thing. OR should I wait for the 4.1.1 release to this baseband version I9300UBBLG2 ?
Take care guys and thanks for all your help.

YES
1. What Official firmware should I install?
Only one JB official the Polish release .
2. Should I change the CSC too? indicated in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1646610
If you want to or have network problems .
3. Can I install the latest Firmware from the I9300UBBLG2 - ICS 4.0.4?
You can but why //
Or do I need to update to another firmware version before going for the 4.1.1?
No
5. will this affect future update notifications by Samsung and Android?
Yes no updates
Will be this useful to root 4.1.1? http://getmovil.com/android/galaxy-s3-root/
Use root from XDA only see the INDEX.
Last thing. OR should I wait for the 4.1.1 release to this baseband version I9300UBBLG2 ?

Thanks for your reply JJEgan
so to make a complete picture we got.
1. I can install JB 4.1.1 Official Firmware Polish Release.
2. I don't have to change the CSC. That must remain untouched.
3. Why will this affect future updates if it is a Official Firmware used on a Factory unlocked I9300? so I won't ever get updates for bug fixes and improvements? How will I handle that?
And
4. JB is supposed to be released on the international Galaxy S3. Why do you say it's never coming to my baseband? being this a international factory unlocked.
5. I've seen too many people in the forum having issues installing JB in their Galaxy S3 like battery drain, Wi-Fi issues etc. That's why question #3. Will i have these issues too with no bug fix updates?
Thanks

You dont have to no must remain untouched .

Same way as you are now updating via XDA .
And
4. JB is supposed to be released on the international Galaxy S3.
It is being rolled out .
Why do you say it's never coming to my baseband?
Baseband is nothing to do with firmware .
5. I've seen too many people in the forum having issues installing JB in their Galaxy S3 like battery drain, Wi-Fi issues etc. That's why question #3. Will i have these issues too with no bug fix updates?
Your choice make your mind up wait for official update for your phone and as you don't understand the basics that may be best .
Or read and learn and flash stock rom from XDA ,

Thank again for your help, I don't want to bother you, but you make me feel confused.
First you told me that JB 4.1.1 "will not be released its ICS ."
But you do not clarify Why this official firmware from Samsung does affect future updates. I mean the Reason. WHY?
And then you do not answers my question and just told me "Your choice make your mind up wait for official update for your phone and as you don't understand the basics that may be best ." even when you said before "will not be released its ICS ."
If there is something else i should know please point me in the right direction, i just want to know and learn more to be sure before installing because it doesn't make sense installing JB if you wont ever get updates from Samsung or android for bug fixes and improvement updates.
Sorry if I'm bothering you, don't take it personal.
Repeat you need to read and learn .
Update path official via Kies or OTA OK .
No problem whenever the update is released for your phone you get it .
Alternative via XDA and flash stock rom on day of release no waiting or custom rom .
Example official JB you let us say six weeks wait .
XDA has stock JB released for Poland you can install that .
But you may then lose your official upgrade path as the codes no longer match as you do not have official firmware for your phone .
First you told me that JB 4.1.1 "will not be released its ICS >> no sorry you are confused .
Official Kies and OTA upgrades are not part of XDA .
BASICS SGS3 I9300 International Only .

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help?. I have a samsung s3 19300 on three mobile uk and a friend flashed my phone for me to get a leaked version of the jelly bean update. I have since read that three mobile have released the official jelly bean update but I haven't received a ota update or can't update through kies due to them not letting you when you flash. My main question is even though I have a leaked version should I still be able to get the ota update come through?
Any help really appreciated

NO OTA.
Try update via Kies if not you will need to flash via ODIN .
jje
You need to flash back to stock h3g ics then use kies to get the update. Remember to download stock three firmware.
Did he install a custom kernel when he installed the leak?

Hi,
I`m having the same problem.my workmate has the same phone on the same network (orange) and hes had the jellybean update for a few days now. Im getting really miffed as i got the phone on the day it came out and he got it a few weeks after yet he has the update without a problem.
You`re doing it the hard way.
Use Odin3... easy, fast, and certain to work.
Search the forums on how to upgrade to JB using Odin3.
It has been released on EE, many of my friend already have the jellybean update.
Is there any way to get my system restore button?
Any solutions?
One use Kies two ask your phone provider .
Three join XDA Developers forum .Four try a Samsung forum .

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and new to android world.
I have purchased unlocked Optus Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) from Australia and currenlty i am using it in India with Airtel. My mobile is installed with ICS 4.0.4.
I want Offical Jelly Bean firmware in my mobile.
Can i install Official Jelly Bean Rom released in SPAIN? Will it lock the the mobile after i install this ROM?
Or If i need to wait for Jellybean to realese in my region, Did i able to update Australian Version or Indian Version of Jellybean ROM or only the OPTUS version of ROM through Samsung Kies?
Please help me on this request.
Thanks,
Arun Panneerselvam
yes, you can install the jellybean from spain and no it will not lock your phone.
The choice is up to you. You try one of the custom roms on this site or wait for an official version through kies.
Updating kies may not happen this year because the roll out for jelly bean wil be uneven, no one knows what countries will get and when or if they will get jellybean at all.
Before installing you have to root your device,
then check and search on internet for your original rom (it could be useful if you need to send it to assistance in warranty)
If the phone is branded usually official updates came from carriers ,and often they need more time to release update after the unbranded is released since they want to put on it their customizations

What the devil are you talking about? You don't need to root in order to install the stock Samsung Jelly Bean firmware.
