[Q] help with unfixed bootloops evo 3d gsm - HTC EVO 3D

I have a evo 3d gsm with this
unlocked htcdev
shooter_u pvt ship s-off
hboot-1.53.0007+radio-11.25.3504.06_m
openDSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0202
eMMC-boot
my firts bootloops is when i install ruu ics stock by 4ext recovery, then install coolICS rom with the same bootloop problem, i fix this unlocked angain, by htcdev reboot and go normally.
then when i tried to install another rom king cobra 1.5, the bootloop come again. but i cant fixed with this metod relock and unlock, rewrite boot.img on cmd, fastboot delete cache. when i rewrite again boot with AnthraX-htcleak-rls1. i have bootloop in recovery too. this show the white screen with htc logo. sorry my bad english but i tired of all this.iread many things like being able to solve it, and now I do not know what to do. thanks for soon answer.

It could be your hboot, your baseband is ok, your s-off, so I would believe that the hboot 1.53 is causing you grieve. Try this it downgrades your hboot.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32032629
now b4 you try it , in 4ext recovery under wipe you will see format all partitions except sdcard, try that b4 you flash any rom and see if that cures your issues
( Don't ask me for help, as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh!!!)

ok i downgrade to hboot 1.49 , but still bootloop when i access to recovery, the same when boot to main rom.

Take out your battery and put it back in and see what happens, it is better to turn your phone totally off between flashes sometimes
( Don't ask me for help, as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh!!!)

well, is all fixed i install a gingerbread rom through fastboot. could you send me a link where i can install ics from fastboot .thanks dude for help me

If u have found an answer, pls PM me

You need to upgrade your firmware. Then you'll get rid of the bootloops

[Q] how to restore HTC Evo 3d to original firmware without locking the bootloader?

hello everyone
I recently installed KingCobra3D ICS 1.2 ROM on my EVO 3D, and it was running well until all of a sudden it started having many issues of turning off while the screen is sleeping (it wont turn back on until I do a battery pull), rebooting, and wont turn on until I do multiple battery pulls. First I thought it was the kernel, so I reflashed the kernel along with the ROM many times, and it still does those issues. My question is, how dp I go back to the original stock Gingerbread firmware without relocking the bootloader? I flashed the ICS ROM, not firmware.
EDIT: I tried restoring my backup from the recovery, but the phone didn't boot after that
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Hello madmajd,
S-ON as your phone is you can not flash boot.img(kernel) from the recovery.
Extract boot.img from your gingerbread rom.zip and flash-it from fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
reboot in recovery, do a full wipe
and flash your rom
sincerely,

While its true YOU CAN flash the kernel that way its not needed with HTC Unlock...
If u enter your recovery via fastboot command prompt ( fastboot boot your recoveryfilename.img), roms And KERNELS WILL flash like normal from the recovery. Here's some extra info I pm'd to another gsm user...

Some key points:
- The ICS /ICS Leaked roms (3.6/4.0) typically have trouble booting the stock kernel on several HTC Unlocked phones. This doesn't seem to occur on S-off phones. (Boot loops are usually a sign of a kernel issue).
- I am on a Sprint CDMA EVO3D & have no idea how to s-off your gsm version/downgrade the bootloader.
- I do have an HTC Unlocked guide in my signature that covers many of the basics for the CDMA version. It's the same process/steps for gsm, but the files used need to be gsm specific from the gsm threads (recovery, kernel, roms, etc).
- If u decide to run an Ruu (exe or zip), you must be locked/relocked & run the same or higher firmware version as currently installed. The exe will work with the phone booted to android or with the bootloader in "fastboot usb". The zip must be renamed exactly PG86IMG.zip and put directly on the root of the sdcard & boot into the bootloader.
- If the phone boots to the bootloader, you can use fastboot command prompt to " unlock" the phone again with your unlock code. Then fastboot flash the recovery again (4ext or Cwm 4.0.1.4 gsm versions recommended), then fastboot boot the recovery, run a superwipe (or format system, data & cache), & flash a gingerbread Rom or one of your nand backups.
- The correct HTC unlocked flashing process (ICS or GB) is to enter recovery via fastboot command prompt, format/superwipe, & flash the Rom (and/or kernel) as you normally would. (4ext Recovery is a solid workaround to using fastboot commands)

Doing what?
You might want to consider upgrading your firmware and getting S-OFF status. I have a guide here that can help.

Too late!
Ok so I followed someone's note to me that said I needed to relock the phone first. So following the instructions for relocking I did the "fastboot oem lock" and now I am "Relocked" but the phone only boots now to Bootloader/Fastboot.
What do I do now?
All I really want to do at this point is get the phone back working. I don't care about root as this phone is going to someone else.
Thanks

Hi
I think you need to downgrade to HBOOT 1.49.007 Because versions 1.50.00 and above have a restart issue with custom ROMS
The bad new is that you must spend your HTC EVO 3D S-OFF
I followed this thread to downgrade
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=17434661
Follow this thread to return to 1.49.007 version of hboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172
If you really want to s-on your phone after this downgrade, you can enter
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
in fastboot mode, but i don't recommend it
Pay attention to these manipulations and does not hesitate to completely read all the tutorials and all comments.
goodbye,

Evo 3D BiParanoid S-OFF n' Relocked hBoot 1.49.0007

Good Morning ...
After I had a Galaxy Note II as a device for testing i wanted to use my HTC Evo 3D. So I wanted to make it ready for daily usage. Before flashing there was ICS NonSense 4.1 on the device. I did a full wipe and everything went as usual. Then I saw that there are some new JellyBeanROMs released for the Evo, so i tried BiParanoid. I flashed it carefully and clean with wipe, etc. etc. and everything was ok. Then i made my settings and installed my daily used apps. After an update of the 4EXT Touch Recovery i wanted to make an nandroid backup over the recovery. I started 4EXT Control Manager and started the Backup. Until this point of time, everything was right.
But then I saw, that the phone won't boot in recovery. Before the hBoot 1.49.0007 i had 1.40 or somethin like that, i dont know that anymore. before the downgrade i was S-OFF and Revolutionary Unlocked. Since the Downgrade I'm having S-OFF and I'm relocked. After one night of searches in google, XDA's, German Android Threads ... after flashing, trying to flash new recovery over ADB ... I'm to disappointed to do more. I dont had any sleep because of this f**** s*** phone ... -_-
When I'm starting the phone normally withuot Bootloader, Recovery Mode etc. theres only the Bootanimation from BiParanoid. I tried to pull out SIM Card, Micro SD card, tried another Micro SD Card ...
My Bootloader:

Sorry for my bad english in this thread but after this night im rly retarded and yeah ... i hope that someone can help me in this situation.
Best Regards and Thx.
Dennis.
Re-locked should not to be an issue, sounds maybe? Your recovery is corrupt, try installing 4ext recovery, also verify the rom that you downloaded is ok, open it on your computer with 7zip, your hboot and firmware look good to me.
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
so i did it ... never thought i would be happy to see some stock rom running on my evo ... ok 4 hours until school, gettin some coffee now ...
With that running system i can install 4ext again i think.
So you ran a ruu?
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
yes now im running a RUU. i installed it over the bootloader with the PG86IMG.zip
Now Im workin with Android 2.3.4 and Software Number 1.20.401.2
in bootloader everything is same, except the radio
radio is now 10.13.9020.08_2M
but that shouldnt be a problem.
Now im angry to flash some false things, what should I do next ? to reinstall recovery i need root access. how do i get this without bricking my evo ? ^^
okay nowfor users with the same problem.
i downgraded my bootloader with the tool in the developer forum to 149.0007 and flashed the stock ruu android 2.3.5 as pg85img.zip over the bootloader. then i rooted the stock rom with the revolutionary method. this one flashed the revolutionary recovery too and now i already was able to flash a custom rom.
on cm9 i installed 4ext recovery again and now its running good. but i flashed the third newest recovery cause the newest version is faulty on my phone.
best regards
now im running on cm9 and everything works well.

Please Help!!! Won't Boot after flashing Custom Rom

Hi, I have an old Evo 3D purchased from eBay (shipped from Singapore).
The phone is now out of the warranty, so i decided to install a custom ROM.
What happened was that the phone was running on stock ICS.
Then I unlocked it through htcdev. S-on, HBOOT 1.53.0007
Installed 4ext recovery, works fine. v 1.0.0.5 RC5 (seems a bit too old, but it's the only one worked)
Then I flash a Jelly Bean 3D rom through recovery, successed, but when the phone is rebooted, it stuck on the animation (the animation is working just fine, but it just doesn't go anywhere, it doesnt reboot itself either).
I read the other post, and flashed a stock rooted ROM named EU_Shooter_U-1.20.401.8_ROOTED.
Then samething happened again, black screen, and doesn't go anywhere either.
I don't know what i should do to fix it now.
Please help.
Thanks.
Well your hboot 1.53.0007 will not allow jb roms to boot, so you have to downgrade your hboot which you can only do if you are s-off, you can likely flash a ICS 3.6 rom, but flashing the kernel with s-on requires you to flash the kernel (boot.img) with smart flash on in 4ext, my suggestion is to s-off downgrade your hboot. AFAIK flashing a ruu requires you to relock the your bootloader

Are there anyways I can do S-off withouteven going into the android?
linjun, is this your first time rooting? You need to at least watch a couple YouTube videos to get an idea of how to do it. Simply unlocking the bootloader is not enough.
Once you DO learn how it's done, it's actually very easy. Just practice, practice, practice...

Phone stuck at HTC screen after trying to install Viper3D_1.0.0_R304.zip

Hello everyone, I was trying to install new Viper3D rom. After installing the Viper3D_1.0.0_R304.zip using 4EXT recovery my phone got stuck at the boot screen with a logo "htc evo". So i tried to recover the stock ROM. But after the recovery my phone can not boot. This time its stuck on regular HTC boot screen with "HTC" logo. I am using htc evo 3D gsm with hboot 1.53XXXX and S-on. Please help
Your hboot is the issue, you need to downgrade your hboot to 1.49 and to downgrade you need to be s- off, so I believe you need to do the wire trick to get s-off

Since you're s-on, you need 4ext recovery with smartflash enabled. If you have cwm recovery, you need to flash boot.img separately, via fastboot
