Having some mess up problem with SI numbers , so i flashed .162 fw back to try solve it. wishing to get u guys help for this pls
The SI number on the back panel and on the build.prop dont match. for eg: on the back panel say its 1261-1111 and on the build.prop its 1261-2222
I tried changing it in build.prop to same as backpanel (i.e. 1111) bt the pc companion and update service didnt showed the update. and then i changed it back to old one (2222) and this time it showed .184 fw update available. Cnt figure out why so happened.
any kind of guidance and help is much appreciated. :crying:
if im right, the SI on the back of your phone is like a reference of build date of your phone, while the SI on the build prop is your region.

Did anyone from Egypt or Middle East( KSA, UAE, etc ) managed to get the 2.1 update till now?
I'm asking because i got bored of waiting and changed my Sales Item number to Global generic and updated my phone. I always check SE product blog with my SI number and no update till now for me.
I also noticed that the SI number on the back of my phone is not the same as the one in default.prop, is this normal ? and which number i should check on the SE product blog?
Really I have no idea, anyway I flashed the global Ans updated too
Why are you checking for the old numbers, I have no plans for returning back to the stock one since there isn't any difference.

Gentlemen can I ask you a question.. what is he mood in Egypt with the impending sale of Orascom's wireless division to the Russians? Anything in the news? I know that the media outlets there are censored and pro Orascom but was wondering if anything changed.

i think the default SI numbers should be .prop ones as the SEus check that which related to software ,
but what's the problem to get Uk , or other unbranded updates
we should not wait for our middle east updates
just go a head and use flashtool , install ur custom firmware no need even to change the configuration files , details

I have installed ICS 4.0.4 TW on Xperia Ray.. Now my SI Number is 1251-9055..
From another thread I read changing SI Number lets you update from SEUS ... Then i rooted my phone and changed SI Number to 1251-4132 .. SEUS says the current version is latest, no updated, even If I click Repair Phone, still same message...

For update you only need change "ro.semc.version.cust=(your Country CDA)" in "build.prop"

My phone has liquid in the transparent bar. Thinking to send the unit to Sony for warranty.
However, my unit has the French FTF. I'm from Singapore. When I changed my SI number to my original one, 1261-4527, I couldnt find a available software for my phone. How do I force it? I search previous thread and couldnt work. My SI has ICS alrd.
the SI number you should looking for is the SI number on your build prop and not on the back of your phone if you want to have your original firmware back.

i have sony xperia sola (serial number BX903B90FX ) i dont know the origin country of this phone ,it was working fine with its stock android 2.3.7 rom but later i flashed android 4.0.4 indian rom ,later i faced some problems,when i play music and lock screen ,it will give disturbing sound along with the music and if i turn on the screen everything will be fine,same happens when i simply lock the screen.i gave my cell to sony service centre and the flashed a rom and gave it back but still problem exist.i flashed global rom also but no fix......can anyone solve this problem and can any one tell me the country of origin of this phone using this serial number BX903B90FX and IMEI number 352264057359784

but u can always update using flashtool to change ur software SI no, just goto development section.
Hey guys;
Here's my problem, when I got My Xperia P, I immediately flashed Central Europe .544 FW FTF File to get ICS because it was not available in my country, now my SI number is different on build.prop than on the box; I was searching for an easy way to change it, I found a thread telling to change SI Number in Build.prop but in the comments some where saying that it doesn't work etc.
I read some posts and still I'm asking myself: wtf should I do ?
finally can I revert back to my stock SI Number or is there no way to get it?
I didn't backup anything, (I did but I have Formatted PC since and didn't keep the files so I now have nothing except a backup of My ICS FW with the different SI Number
EDIT: also I read some things about CDF number but don't really know what is this ;
