Hi everbody!!
I want to unlock my phone. I have a Xperia Neo with Vodafone. When I type '*#*#7378423#*#*' in the dialer it shows 'Bootloader unlock allowed = No'.
I was reading about unlocking this phone and I'm not sure id there is a way to do it. I suppose it cannot be unlocked via the official way but I'm not sure about other ways.
Any help?

You can still root it no problem, just not unlock bootloader.
However, you should still be able to unlock it via a paid for service. (Someone correct me if I am wrong)

No need to correct you
Paid service like SETool Box(which I personally advise), omnius, wotan server(they provide SIM unlock, not sure about bootloader unlock).
Also having this in mind: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25802604&postcount=144
if older than 12W14, only official unlock (of course with previously removed SIM lock)

My phone is 11W29. And my carrier is Vodafone. If I SIM unlock it (which means that I can use another SIM form other carriers), may I unlock the bootloader then?

Yes.
Long story:
Technically, you can unlock it(bootloader) now, it's just you won't be able to use it until you remove SIM lock, as SIM lock is also locking fastboot, which you need to access your unlocked bootloader.

Don't think they will be up to... :silly:
I have one more question. With a custom kernel, does it really improve the overall experience?
I'm on ICS now and the phone isn't up to my expectations being honest. It's not as fluid and responsive as it should be even that I use a custom ROM (ICS pureness). So I wonder if a kernel would benefit the overall usage.
Above all, I find it troubled to do multitasking. It often needs to reopen the apps and it feels slow and games and apps lag even with the new Adreno drivers (I'm using Holo Launcher). I tried supercharging it a few months ago but I didn't notice it that much on ICS. Maybe JB runs better??
I'm seriously thinking about going back to GB. It feels snappier and more responsive. Altough I don't want to... :crying:

How you unlocked it? What program you used?
Did you try with different SIM cards?
I bought a code obtained from my phone model, carrier and IMEI.
Then I introduced another SIM card from a different carrier and my phone asked for that code. So, I introduced it and my phone now can be used with other carriers.
Then I inserted my SIM card again and I checked my phone unlock status. And it says 'no'.

Why you didn't follow my suggestion and used apps which I suggested?
Anw, I'm not sure now.
Install drivers from latest flashtool,
turn off phone, hold down menu key and connect cable to phone, let the PC recognize phone and install drivers,
start flashtool, click on lightning icon and select fastboot mode, click on "get ver info" and "get device info" in the main flashtool window you should see some info.
What does it say?
p.s. you can always try with testpoint method or by official method and see if it will work.

What are you complaining about? Why don't buy a ticket to watch a film or sth instead of being so rude?
Ok. I've got Flashtool 0.9.8 installed in GNU/Linux and Flashtool 0.9.5 in Windows 7.
It seems I cannot enter in fastboot mode within either one. In fact, after entering in flash mode (holding down back button) my phone always enters in flash mode except if I hold down the menu button, in which case it enters in normal (charging?) mode.

Hi everyone, there are 4 days for unlock bootloader for free on Omnius.
There are a lot of ppl who have Bootloader Unlock allowed: NO! and as u know it can only be unlocked by pay method. Well you are lucky if you are seing this post because if you go to omnius page: http://www.omnius-server.com/ and register you can unlock for free your 2011 xperia phone. I already try this method on my brother's xperia mini pro (sk17) and it works without pay anything.
If you have some question be free to ask here, I will help you in your unlocker, its a little diffficult but can be done!.
Good luck!
Edit:
STEPS:
Open omnius, log into your account.
Select your device from list.
Press unlock -> Bootloader
It will show you an image where your testpoint is located.
- Next steps are for mini pro -
Cancel the process. Now turn off your xperia mini pro. Remove your batter
Localizate the testpoint and put there your tool (It can be a paper clip with cable).
Put the clip on your test point and the cable to the ground (omnius will help you with this) then connect your phone at the computer.
Windows will recognize new driver and it will fail with installation. Dont worry, open device manager and right click that device and choice update driver. Select install from my computer. Go to omnius installation (c->program files -> omnius -> drivers) and accept. It will show you a warning telling that those arent the proper drivers but its ok, just press install anyway.
Thats it, it will install you the drivers you need.
Now unplug test point and put your battery on (usb cable must be conected).
Now unplug the usb now.
Put usb again on your xperia and once again it will show you new device founded, follow the same step before, device manager, update, from computer, etc, etc). Thats it, now open omnius and press unlock, bootloader and it will succes.
For anothers devices it will be the same but with different testpoint, steps may be different but omnius will show you the way.
I hope this can help you, because is one day left.

First take out battery from phone then take some wire and connect it,to ground (you can find testpoint locations on omnius site) ,also be sure that drivers are installed (you
can find them in S1tool) now comes tricky part where you need to do in few seconds but first check is testpoint connected,so tricky part is that you need to disconnect testpoint and put battery while is sending loader or error will come up (phone will be ok)
I hope you will understand.

i was trying to follow this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285) to unlock my sk17i. i'm pretty sure i did the right thing at first, but during "PROCESSING … REMOVE TESTPOINT NOW, THEN PRESS "READY"" part, i removed the USB instead of just the test point.
now the problem is nothing happens anymore after i click Ready (after connecting the test point) when i try to Patch SECMBoot.
i tried the RESTORE but it said 'nothing to restore'
is there any way to solve this? or maybe reset the process i abandoned before?

i have looked through wotanserver before posting this, but hesitated to use it. can i just unlock my phone using it and without installing their firmwares?

@hizperion
just a question sir, why are you trying to unlock bootloader?
if you have done it already thru test point that should be it.
this would allow you to use fastboot on your phone to install custom kernel.
flashing thru wotan would definitely lead to stock since that is what it does...

the unlocking thru test point at the first time didn't work, because i plugged the USB out during the process. so it kinda stuck at some point (it seems like its already unlocked, but actually not yet). i tried to flash using fastboot but nothing happened too.
just check service menu.
if it states "bootloader unlocked : yes" then it is already unlocked.
if it states "bootloader unlock allowed :yes" then it is still locked.

Hello
I currently own an Xperia Live with walkman which I upgraded to 4.0.4 ICS and rooted.
I'm interested on using custom ROMs so I need to unlock the phone's bootloader in order to install custom kernels.
In the service menu of the phone, rooting status says:
Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
I've read on other threads that this means that the phone also has a network lock, so even if I use the test point method to unlock, I won't be able to use fastboot mode.
However on the SIMLOCK menu of the service menu, all locks are disabled (And I confirmed it by installing another sim from a different phone company).
¿How can I unlock the bootloader (for free, hopefully), and will it work on fastboot mode?
I would advise you to try and go to fastmode connecting the phone to the computer while off and holding the volume up key, the notification led should turn on blue that means that you will have no problem flashing custom kernels but you will need to unlock the bootloader using the test point method.
Also you can double check if the boot loader is really locked in the service menu, software info, under the s1 Boot Version you will find something like this: 1241-3656 r9A029 the letter "r" here refers to the state of the bootloader the lower case means it's unlock meanwhile the capital "R" means its locked.

So, I will never be able to use fastboot?
Even if I unlock the bootloader through test points or the paid method?
Normally, you'd have to unlock it via Wotan Server. It erases SIM lock and unlocks bootloader. Don't know why your phone is already SIM unlocked, though.
Hi,
I have same problem, Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
On every test point tutorial I saw "if Bootloader unlock allowed: YES, than you can continue doing TP".
I want to unlock it, so I can flash CM9.
Can I still use TP to unlock my bootloader?
No, bootloader cannot be unlocked if fastboot is disabled.
The only way to enable fastboot right now is via paid method, which also uses the test point method. I am not sure, but I have heard that in some cases, that method unlocks the bootloader aswell.
So, no custom ROMs for me
So what's the verdict here?
Even though on my LWW I have Bootloader unlock allowed: NO I did the testpoint method to unlock the bootloader and it passed. Afterwards I have S1 Boot Version: r9A021 (notice the r) which means the bootloader is unlocked AFAIK. However I still have no access to fastboot. I can confirm that the phone is simlocked, and before having to pay to get it simunlocked, I want to make sure that doing so will finally enable fastboot.
Again, will having the phone sim-unlocked enable the bootloader to be unlocked, and more importantly gain access to fastboot?

That's exactly what I am asking. If the phone gets sim-unlocked, does that mean that fastboot will be enabled? What paid method are you referring to? Sim-unlock code? Or is there some other paid method?
Or to put it in better writing, what paid method is there to enable fastboot?

The paid-method is technically you go to your service provider, and ask them for an unlock code for your phone.Normally, you need to pay,but if you are lucky, they can give an unlock code for free :good:
The method to sim-unlock your phone (based on my reading in this forum ) is insert other SIM card that are different carrier, and turn on your phone. There will be a checkpoint which your phone asking for a code,at that time you insert the code that your service provider gave you,and after you enter the code, your phone will automatically sim-unlocked :highfive:
I'm sorry if some of my information is misleading,I hope someone can fix my mistake (if any though)
Or try this, who knows it might work?

Unlocking bootloader and sim unlocking both do separate things, but I'm hoping simunlocking + testpoint method will finally enable fastboot.
I'll purchase a simunlock code and post if that helps with enabling fastboot asap.

I'm just wondering as I'm not sure how good docomo is at releasing updates.
First we need the SGP321 Firmware.
At the moment there is only the docomo FW available and the WiFi only version.
Maybe someone with a SGP321 device could provide it....

Yes, SIM-Lock is not dependent on Firmware
This is why you can flash different FW Versions to mobiles/tablets without any problems.
As from my knowledge the SIM-Lock is like a DRM-Key which is stored in the TA (TrimArea).
If you want to unlock your device you have to write the correct unlock code in the dialer, after this with an algorythm the DRM-Key is generated and stored in the TA.
To avoid any problems with SIM-Lock the Flashtool never flashes the simlock.ta file which is in some FTF Files.
The file is skipped

interesting.
If the key is stored in the TA and you unlock your bootloader the TA partition is removed on unlocking of bootloader, people are recommending to backup the TA partition to retain BRAVIA 2..so once you have the backup you could remove the any signs on the sim lock and once you restore it should be unlocked? hah

You are right in theory, but I think when you remove the signs on the sim-lock the TA is not signed correctly anymore and it will not work. But this is just my thinking...
So for a correct answer we need a real DEV like DooMLooRD or Bin4ry or ....

Yes, Worldgsmcodes.com sent me the unlock code for my SO-03E in 72 hours.
Don't choose Xperia tablet z, choose tablet S, then the support will contact you to give them the IMEI of your XTZ and then they will send you the unlock code.
Works perfectly.
The Unlocking bootloader service sent me a code to unlock the bootloader, ( my XTZ says : Bootloader unlock allowed : No ), i tried this :
In the cmd windows type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
If a value is returned (it will return 0.5), it means the phone is correctly connected
Type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY and replace KEY with the key which u received earlier.
You're device should now be bootloader unlocked
it's not working....

Thanks man, bit the bullet and ordered an unlock code. Hope this works on my docomo tablet z too.
After getting my unlock code, my SIM was already identified.great. Just a quick question, am I stuck with the R (roaming) logo? Im getting 3g signal and 3g working but the logo still stays at R.
