i switched my phone on an off again.... and then all my external sd card music was gone?checked storage and my sd card was (32gb card) 29.8gb/29.8gb available?
took the card out checked on my computer and yes it is all empty! except for some android secure and lost folder android makes by itself.

why/ how would this happen?
faulty sd card? phone problem? virus? Help! so i know what to do next
Did u flash a Rom with instructions how to wipe? Maybe u format the sd card then.
It happened after using it last time on PC? Maybe there's the prob.
Any special apps u use?

Look for a PC-based recovery app that can recover deleted data on SD cards, whack the SD card in a card reader attached to said PC, see if you might be able to recovery any of the erased data.
Seems your best (only) chance to me.
This works for me...

Nope i only flashed that new (at the time) 2.3.5 kernal and rooted my phone in December, and have not removed my card from my phone in a month
Trying recuva, normal scan picked up nothing, deep scan now...
done!
woohoo recuva worked. I recovered my lost files. I only put music and videos on my external sd card anyway, but i relabelled albums and artists once i transferred music to my phone. So i don't have to do that 2 hour job again.
Files not in their original folders but better then nothing.
I wonder why it happened? hmmm
thanks for the help

Can this be the cause of all my trouble.

i had my 8gb sd card working perfect.. all of a sudden it had stopped working.. wouldnt read at all in my phone, but in my girlfriends phone ( which isnt android ) it reads perfectly.
now, while flashing a new rom and clearing data.. i had this come up..
Formatting /sd-ext...
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
with all the rest working fine.
Backup the data and format the card in the phone.

this was happening on my last sd card, after this started happening, i couldnt access anything on the card. So ive now changed to a 2gb card. havnt made an sd ext yet. so is that why ?
happened to me as well, SD got corrupted, it can be read from a pc, but cannot change the contents thus cannot re-format, luckily i can copy it, then bought a new one, problem solved, phone is working fine again.

I think this is normal for sd card without ext partition.
have you try to un-mount and mount the sd-card?
can the sc card be read from recovery?

mounting it from cwm ? nope i havnt tried that.
Im not having any troubles at the moment with this new SD Card. I just wanted to try and get the old 8gb sd working. having 2gb isnt enough for all my music and apps.
Ive formatted the old sd card. but it still shows as having 6gb.. so 2 gb missing ? AND.. i can put it in my girlfriends phone, and load it up on the computer. put anything on it i want, but it wont read in ANY phone..
Use panasonic sd formater under win.

its basically a throw away sd card now, so ill give it a shot lol.
hoping i got the right program
** tried that... didnt work. it formatted the Sd Card. but still wont read in my phone.
Also tried to Mount the SD card from Cwm. but i get
Error mounting /sdcard!
not sure if this will help anyone.. but i partitioned the sd card ages ago, all was working fine... now, after formatting, my 8gb sd card is still just nearly 6gb. so 2 gb is missing.
connect the sd card to the computer via a card reader. delete all the partitions and then format it using the fat32 system. try to read it now. if it still doesn't work try to format it using the fat system. maybe this will work.

Can't mount external sd card

Hello. When trying to flash my mini X android box, I used sd card from my sgs2. After that, I inserted the card to sgs2 and rebooted.
The telephone said "Corrupted card" and asked to format. However, it formatted internal sd card!! And it doesn't see the external one.
I've tried formatting external sd to fat32. No luck.
What should I do?

Well, this may sound stupid or strange, but what I couldn't do with gParted or Windows partition was easily done by putting sd-card to my Note 10.1
My problem is solved by now. The only thing that bothers me is that my internal sd is formatted and everything's lost. If anyone knows how to recover all data, please pm me

Strange sd card problem?

Hey guys
Recently I'm having a strange problem with my sd card
I noticed that even when I was deleting files, they used to come back so I decided to format my sd card
If I mount it as usb storage from the computer, the format works but as soon as I reboot, all the files reappear and the card is formatted back to exfat.
If I use the adapter it tells me that the storage is write protected
Please please someone help me
Thanks in advance
If this is helpful:- I recently updated my phone from XXUGMJ9 to XXUGMK6
Download the sd format tool and wipe the card again, if still the same then throw it away.

Foldermount made my sd card corrupted.

Hello. I have sm-j500h device. Last week I used foldermount on android 6.0.1. It said system/bin/vold and system/bin/sd card need to be fixed. Click to fix them. After clicking it reboot and I saw my sd apps gone But sd card was still functioning in es file explorer. I found a tutorial in foldermount official page so I deleted system/bin/sd card and renamed system/bin/sd card.backup to system/bin/sd card. I also deleted system/bin/vold and renamed system/bin/vold.backup to its normal name. After all of these I reboot and saw my phone says sd card is corrupted. I can't mount other sd cards right now. I also flashed marshmallow Rom but I still can't mount sd as card and it says corrupted. I also format my a.c. card but still no change.
Any solutions and tips will be appreciated.
Same problem with sd card corrupted.
Hi, I had a similar problem, I had to delete and rename those files because my smartphone did not start. The smartphone now works perfectly but the sd card appears damaged, even though it works perfectly.
Did you find any solution to help me?
Thank you very much!
