[q] imei issues ,no service,india,mtk6577,mtk6575 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought one chinese handset hero 9300+
very impressive specs ,very good phone
but when i inserted sim (indian) .......... No service
all we can see is the carrier label but cannot call or message no gprs,3g
on the otherhand
a mobile called zopo zp900
ditto copy of hero 9300+
fully working with indian sim (confirmed by vijay who has it)
what do you think the issue might be ?

>hardware defect

majority of this chinese phones have this problem (no service)
when i check the imei online it says imei is valid (both dual sim)

Just compare the APN list (apns-conf.xml) of your working zopo zp900 with the one of your Hero.

Altough i dont recommend doing this .but u can test it by changing
Imei to your old working phone imei.

My recommendation to indians .
Dont buy this cheap chinese phones
.allmost all of them have this imei issue.i also admit that this phones have great specifications .

We all like things to be cheap,dont we? So not buying the china phones will only be a loss to us n is not the solution.we will have to find out a way to get the IMEI legally.

i have got my hero 9300+ today, and having the same no service issue !
will flashing with zopo 900 rom help overcome this no service problem, as its working on zopo ?? or is it only the IMEI ?
please help !!

No dont flash the zopo rom.it will not help.because the main issue is with imei .so changing the rom will be useless.just change ur imei to the old phone that u have.:thumbup:

Unable to connect network at this time solution

my i7100GT clone after download with flash tool dont have any imei code and baseband versian.
i do any work.

copy MPOB_001 file and reboot

Thanks, but I already have these tools. I came to know from a fellow xda developers forum member that I need to flash the preloader and the dsp_bl files of my firmware (I omitted these two while flashing) as they contain the required baseband and dsp. But I can't flash these two files. My SP Flash tool always shows errors like "S_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL" or "Cannot open port...". Any idea how to solve these errors?
I have all the drivers installed and tried on 3 pcs, all give the same error.
