BT Mouse - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi all!
I bought a cheap dx.com BT mouse, in the hope that it would work with my tablet.
It doesn't, and after some testing around, I've found out that the same mouse works with my Samsung Galaxy S II.
Would there be an easy fix to this issue?
Both are upgraded to Jelly Bean (neither stock). I was hoping that when I upgraded my TF201 to JB it would have worked (as my phone was on JB when I tested it) - but obviously it didn't.
So, I know it's all a bit airy fairy but, any help, anyone?
e: Oh, I should add, that the mouse connects and pairs to my TF201 fine. It simply doesn't move the mouse, with the keyboard dock in or not.

bump? Nobody would know of any way that I could use any data from the SGS II to get the BT Mouse working on the TF201?

I wasted a lot of time and money trying to get a couple cheap BT mice to work on the Prime. Best advice is to forget them and get either Logitech V470 or Microsoft BT Notebook Mouse 5000. As far as I have read these are the only two that work reliably on our devices though I believe Asus themselves make one too.
I got a refurb MS one off eBay for £14 and it works great.

Nope, both are rooted and on custom JB roms.
Thanks for all the responses guys - I'll now go look in to a bluetooth address finder on the play store.
Thanks!

My experience mirrors those of Restorer -- but I didn't go through that many.
I purchased an inexpensive Bluetooth mouse and found that it worked terribly (to be charitable). Skips, lack of response, constant resets etc. I exchanged it and found that the replacement worked just as bad. That led me to the conclusion that it didn't like that mouse. I ended up buying a Logitech v470 which has worked flawlessly.

Wireless Illuminated Super Tiny Keyboard + Touch HD?

Would this thing work on Touch HD? Anyone have any idea? I've been googling all afternoon, but no one seems to mention anything about this neat keyboard pairing with XDA devices.

I think it wont -- in the link you provided its said and showed that theres a usb receiver and it works in 2400ghz frequency--- basically the keyboard comunicates only with the usb thingy, that came with the keyboard!!!
NO IT WONT!!
except only if you make it bluetooth keyboard!!!
Moving this to Blackstone accessories!

Nah, actually I'm aware of that thingy, but that's not what I want. I want a hardware keyboard I can use in my hands or in my lap. This one requires a flat surface to work and that's not an option since I need to be able to use the keyboard in the car / plane / train / ferryboat etc. So I have excluded pretty much all foldable keyboards because they can't be used that way.
I also saw the Logitech diNovo mini keyboard, which looks awesome, but is just so damn expensive I figured I first try to find some kind of alternative. There are a few mini wireless keyboards available out there, but only Logitech and this Super Tiny have illuminated keys (also a must have for me) and can be used without flat surface.
Guess I'll have to go for Logitech then
You could try by using the veripart 3-in-1 converter, which will give you a USB-port, so you can stick the transmitter onto it...
But I don't know how to get the drivers onto your device then....
Grtz,
Degake
Look for the Think outside, or i-Go bluetooth keyboard. it's foldable but you can use it on your lap also. I have been using one for the past two years. fantastic device!!

Yeah, me too, but I'm still undecided. Mostly because the reviews I read weren't that great as I expected.
To be honest, if I'm going to pay 150 euros for a plastic keyboard, then I expect it will be fantastic, and judging by what I read, it's just not so great as one would think.
I own a lot of Logitech devices and have been using their keyboards / mices for years. I never regret paying top money for those gadgets, but I'm just not sure about this little thing. Unfortunately, none of the available reviews tested this keyboard as an attachment to PDA device - most were oriented to Windows Vista tv application / web browsing. So, I'll wait for someone here on the forums to get it and report

Also, general impressions would be most welcomed.

Bt Keyboard pairs but no response from keypresses
Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me with this as I am rather stuck.
I got this keyboard http://www.iconuk.co.uk/Keyboards--Mice-&-Tablets/Bluetooth-Keyboards/Keysonic-Mini-Blutooth-Wireless-Keyboard-KB-ACK-595BT/p-1583-621-1758-4106/ - Keysonic KB-ACK-595BT.
So far I have only got it to work twice with the touch HD, where it connected and was quite happy typing and controlling windows mobile (typed a whole document quite happily). However, the 2nd time it took several attempts before it would work and now I can't seem to do it again.
As far as I can tell the keyboard is fine (connects to windowsXP without issue) but after paring with the Phone (which it accepts) there is no response from the key presses.
I've tried all sorts to get it to work, but no utility or attempts to change the stack or Soft/Hard resets seems to help. I've even upgraded the radio to 1.12.25.16 but made no difference. I think this must be a WM6.1 issue with BT paring but I'm out of idea on how to fix it.
It is driving me nuts though, since it worked twice so why doesn't it now? Can't find anyone else who has had a similar problem so stuck for ideas on what to try next.
Thanks in advance.
Tim.

gps and bluetooth on galaxy s2

I'm looking to swap out my new iPhone 4s for a galaxy s2 but I was wondering how the gps and Bluetooth is. Are there any issues with the gps? Are there any limitations with the Bluetooth (I.e. unable to pair wiimote/ps3 controller)?
I came from a Samsung Captivate so it would be nice to know before committing to it.
Thanks.

Wait you have an unrooted stock SGSII and are able to pair with a PS3 Controller? I've been told that's impossible unless you are running CM7. Do tell your secret.
I'm interested on how it was done as well. To be honest I just wanted to make sure the Bluetooth has good support for headsets, hands free setups, keyboards, and mice.
Good to know that the galaxy s2 isn't plagued with the gps issues from my captivate.
Can't speak to the controllers, but GPS is night and day batter than captivate. I use a stereo Bluetooth headset for hours on end every day, and never have issues. The Thrill had issues, that is a big part of the reason I got the SGS II.

Rooted and running CM7 then I assume?
Bluetooth is fantastic. It connects to everything (I use) pretty much flawlessly. It's the only phone I've ever used that streams song and artist data via A2DP. Vlingo has a listen over Bluetooth mode that activates when you say "Hi Galaxy" and allows you to call, send texts & e-mails, and take notes. Of course there's a big YMMV because Bluetooth is dependent on two devices to work properly and people have had issues with certain in-car systems on the international SGS2 forum. But there's less Bluetooth *****ing about the SGS2 than any other device whose forums I follow.

Galaxy S II + MHL + PS3 Controller = Smash Bros :)

Alright I'm not sure if you guys are aware, but our phones are capable of tv-out via HDMI, and this is done via the MHL protocol which attaches an adapter to the usb port for simultaneous charging/HDMI out. Taking advantage of this I thought "hey it would be awesome to rock some emulators", but the traditional bluestacks/wiimote combo is not compatible with our devices due to some driver issues and samsung bluetooth stacks. So I scoured the internet looking for a solution that wouldn't involve me having to buy a bluetooth peripheral, and found out about "Sixaxis" control; this app allows one to use their existing PS3 Control as a joystick/input method, and works extremely well. It's worth the buy and is extremely smooth.
So After you have and have set-up the Emulator with your rom; you've set-up the Six-axis control from the instructions, connect your phone to your TV through MHL, set-up the input settings, and have fun!
Here's my Set-up

I too was already expectant of the lack of bluetooth for stock roms, since I tried the same with the Captivate. But a random google search showed it running on the Galaxy S II (International Variant), so i gave it a spin!

Nothing beats old consoles, just me replaying my childhood memories of Smash is amazing, considering how fluid it plays from our phone!
Ya know even with the video I was a skeptic. To test it they have a test app that can be used to verify it will work. You still need to go through all the steps and part of it involves a pc but the whole thing does work.
I loaded snesoid and mapped the joypad and buttons on my ps3 controller to the emulator disabling the virtual pad and the trackball options while I was at it. Once done I was playing super mario all stars on it pretty easily. There is virtually no lag between the controller and the game.
Tested on a stock rooted rom. No custom roms flashed at all which means I definitely used the standard samsung bluetooth stack to test it.
im running UnNamed and it says its not compatible. any ideas? or do i hav to run CM7?

First of all your phone needs to be rooted for the application to access root permissions, then install that app, and there's 2-3 times it'll ask for root permissions where you have to grant them. It should say it's compatible.

Running Sixaxiscontroller will cause a semipermanent bt_wake wakelock in the kernel. You need to reenable (and maybe also disable) BT in the main Settings menu to clear it.

[Q]Galaxy s2 i9100 + bluetooth mouse. 2.3.5 breaks it. 2.3.6 fixes!

I just recently bought a white galaxy s2 from newegg. I have an MHL to HDMI cable incoming, and when I saw that you could use a mouse with the device, I was really excited.
link: I'm too new to post links, but search google for "magic mouse samsung s2" and the youtube link should pop up first.
However, even though I am able to pair a mouse (I've tried a magic mouse and a mini presentation Microsoft Bluetooth mouse so far) when it connects, it instantly disconnects... and it keeps doing that over and over.
Bluetooth is able to keep a connection with other devices, like a headset and transfer data over bluetooth to my computer.
When I called Samsung support, first the girl didn't know connecting to a mouse was possible, and upon seeing the video, her response was why would I ever want to do that, and there was nothing she could do to help.
I saw other threads mentioning bluetooth problems could be fixed with a factory reset, but after doing so I have identical behavior. I don't think its a hardware issue, and I applied the newest update 2.3.5... I'm really confused here. What should I do? Any other details required? Maybe my magic mouse just doesn't like my phone?
From what I have heard apple magic mouse does not connect correctly.do you or a friend have a different bt mouse to test?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I have now tested the Bluetooth with a Logitech lazer Bluetooth mouse, in addition to the magic mouse and Microsoft mouse, with the same results. Does anyone else have this problem? Could the mouse HID been disabled by Samsung? or should I do a hardware warantee exchange?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I bought a cheap (8€) noname bluetooth mouse from amazon and it works perfectly on the Galaxy S2 on the stock rom, it also works on my Galaxy S running CM7.
Are you sure you have set your mouse to pairing mode?
(I had to press the connect button for 5 seconds)
I'm sure it's pairing. I press and hold connect on the mouse until it becomes visible to my galaxy s2. It ends up showing up as paired after I tap, but when I tap again, it only connects for a second (enough that the options for that device now show me HID) but it just drops immediately. But perhaps these mice with special buttons (like the Microsoft presentation mouse) and apple mice, and the Logitech mouse, are all beyond the scope of running on the phone.
I bought a super basic and cheap bluetooth mouse ($15 cdn) from amazon, it should arrive in 1-2 weeks. I'll follow up with this then. If the phone can't connect to that, I'm going to call Samsung and ask for a hardware exchange.
Also, I may be able to get my hands on a USB host cable, to see if i can get any mouse period working.
I really can't imagine it being faulty hardware though, considering all other Bluetooth functions work? or am I incorrect in assuming that?
So I decided to see what happens with a Bluetooth keyboard, and indeed I get the same result, connecting for a second then dropping.
I'm going to exchange my unit for a new one, hopefully that solves the issue. I'm getting paranoid that something is different with the white galaxy s2, can someone extinguish those fears for me?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Alright, follow up post. The new phone connects to mice/keyboards fine. It is current on 2.3.3. Could someone with an updated 2.3.5 s2 just confirm that the feature still works after update?
Edit: Ok, i let me phone upgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5, and nothing can pair once again. Wow. Did Sammy really remove this functionality?
Final edit: Flash stock 2.3.6, and mouse will work again. So to recap, 2.3.3 good, 2.3.6 good, 2.3.5 bad
I have an Apple Mighty Mouse which work fine with my SGS1. It doesn't connect to SGS2. Same issue, the connection drops out after a second. My SGS2 is running on 2.3.6 Batista ROM with Siyah 2.3 kernel.
HID Bluetooth killed by 2.3.5 upgrade
Hi, I think I have a good picture of what has happened having trawlled the net looking for answers. In summary:
2.3.3 and 2.3.4 supported and worked with bluetooth HID devices (like my sandberg mini bluetooth keyboard).
2.3.5 as suggested by Samsung key's had issues with bluetooth from the start. It all looked good until you turned bluetooth on then it went into a FREEZE, BLACK SCREEN, LOCK SCREEN cycle with a 20-30 second window at best to try and turn bluetooth off once you realised it, repeating "ad infinitum".
Some folks found that a factory reset cured this. I got a replacement from Otrange UK after a lengthy discussion!
BUT however you may have fixed this is seems that any bluetooth HID device (Mouse, Keyboard) will not stay connected against 2.3.5. They pair ok, they even actually connect for a fraction of a second then bomb out again.
I just spoke to Orange UK Tech who in turn spoke to Samsung who said they were "Not aware" of the issue but would "Escalate a resolution" and get back to me. 2.3.6 is supposedly about to come out for Orange UK within "2 Months" and will contain a fix. Apparently. Looking at other stuff, 2.3.6 does appear to be the best hope.
They confirmed something though; 2.3.5 back to 2.3.3 / 2.3.4 is not supported/advised/safe so waiting for the new version is the only hope.
All this, so the lists won't bounce a'la APPLE and have a blue "bottom of list" flash instead... Ok, maybe there was some good stuff in the rom but it's kinda been overshadowed for me
Good luck out there and hold on to your hope!
I heard back from Samsung support today (Orange having referred my case).
They said that their 2.3.5 was new (erm, yes) and that it wasn't backwards compatible, and for any devices that no longer worked I would have to get that devices supplier to provide new software on that device.
They used a car kit as an example.
So I specifically asked "Are you saying you released an update without any warning, that would render all previosuly compatible bluetooth HID hardware incompatible?" And he answered that this was the case and that I would have to ask Sandberg to update my device so that it would connect to 2.3.5
Now, either he had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, or there is something very wrong at Samsung.
I have asked for him to confirm this to me in an email. (I intend to make use of this writen statement if it confirms the above conversation.)
Has anyone else ever heard anything so bizzarre?
I surely hope this can't be right!

3rd party bluetooth controller support? non-official PS3 controllers.

Hello everyone on the xdadevelopers. As always before posting here; I rummage around the internet in hope of answers from any source I can. Sadly, I've not been successful in my quest and now will turn to the minds of you wonderful developers who have taught me alot already.
To cut a long story short, I'd like to play ROM's on my emulators with my NEO Controller by Subsonic. I opted for the NEO as it seems a fair bit larger than the PS3's toothpick sized controllers (to me anyway).
Does anyone know of any way I could achieve syncing this controller to my Galaxy S2 as I'm at my wit's and technological know-how end.
I'm open to all suggestions and am more than happy to donate to whomever can find me an answer and get this sodding thing working!
Thanks in advance to any and all suggestions.

SixAxis requires your phone to be rooted. Do you have root?
Also, it states in the play store entry that it works best with OEM PS3 controllers, not 3rd party controllers.
And what exact model of GS2 do you have?

I have the unbranded international S2 on the Orange UK network. I believe the orange branded is the i9100G or is it the i9100P? Can't remember which. But mine is the bog standard Galaxy S2, no Orange branding or software to the phone originally.

Well, you also state you're using NEO Controller by Subsonic controllers? As I said above, the SixAxis controller app is stated to work best with OEM PS3 controllers - i.e. controllers actually made by Sony intended for the PS3.
So... if you were trying to use the SixAxis app with the NEO controller, that's probably why it didn't work.
Sorry I can't help further - I use SixAxis with an official PS3 controller, which works fine for my needs.
Maybe try "USB/BT Joystick Center 6" or "Bluez IME" from the Play Store?
