Hi. I've updated my fw to the latest version 6.1.A.2.50
But after installing any custom kernel, the fw degrades to .45
Example, I flashed XSX_v6 by Mericon and my kernel became .45...

That's just a setting in the build.prop of the kernel, the firmware is still 6.1.A.2.50.

Now I used XSX_v6 by Mericon and it became 6.1.A.2.45 so now I get ota of 6.1.A.2.50!
Normal?

DooM has done this in doomkernel
Thanks. I checked it out..it says that it's for the build version 3.0.1.G.0.75. I'm runnning the CM7-ZMOD. Do I have to flash back to stock ROM to get this kernel, or can I install this kernel right away? Thanks

I would ask around in the discussion thread for cm7-zmod. Just ask there. They will tell what they use.
I think doomkernel has a cm kernel?

For stock rom download odex version, then download setting zip
You better be using 4.04 as it's for 4.04
Don't know if works on 4.03 though

You should really update to 4.0.4 it is noticeably faster. Then flash this zip - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?i1g7ca77agj7aru

Hi,
I just rooted my SGS2 using the following kernel: CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-PROPER-v5.4-CWM5, the problem is forgot to write down my original data, so is there a way to know it?
and does rooting the phone also changes the Build Number and Baseband Version?
Here is my current data:

Well I'm afraid the kernel I used won't be compatible with the phone, isn't that right?
I'm sorry I'm new to this

If you want to unroot all you have to do is go to www.sammobile.com and download the stock firmware and flash through Odin. You will get your stock Kernel back. So don't worry, try some aftermarket kernels
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
if it isn't compatible, the phone won't turn on, or pass the Samsunggalaxy GT-I9100 screen. so don't be afraid. just in case, and to be safe, if your phone is working OK right now, you should make a nandroid backup in CWMR (volumeup+home button+power button). and then you can mess with anything you want (except stock kernels made from 9 of july of 2012 to now) and there will be almost no problems
you can try any kernel...not every kernel works fine in terms of battery life and hardware manage. even though is the one that came with your custom rom. the same is for modem(baseband)
Could anyone recommend a stable ROM for 4.1.2 for i9100 based on my kernel siyah ?
This is what I have right now:

There are barely a couple of ROMs running 4.1.2 right now and AFAIK none of them are compatible with Siyah.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
To be honest your better off sticking with 4.1.1, no Siyah kernel is compatible with 4.1.2 just yet
You don't say?

Works like a charm. If you have used experience rom then its basically the same thing. Main difference seems to be the faster load time for apps and few cosmetic tweaks here and there. The extra stuff is as posted online...like stamina mode etc. I have managed to root it by flashing ics thp kernel method. Its all smooth sailing for me now. Led works as it should finally and i hear ppl report camera fixed etc.
Its definitely worth flashing if u don't wanna wait for OTA update.
...and here is why
