[Q] does anyone know of any lightweight samsung's ICS rom? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to flash Paranoid Android (PA) rom. It's based on CM10. I heard that if I flash PA from Samsung's JB rom, which I'm using right now, it will break NFC, S Beam, and WiFi. So that's why I have to start with Samsung's ICS rom. The reason for wanting a lightweight version of rom is because I have slow internet here. So, help me out, friends.

EDIT - Sorry, wrong thread....

it's JB rom? oh bummer. if I flash Slim ICS, won't it break WiFi, NFC and S Beam too? Or is this problem specific to CM and CM-based rom only?

this is not a rom, mate. this is just a cleaning script, that is to be flashed after flashing stock samsung rom.

Never mind mate. I think I'll just flash this old ICS rom I got with Odin. Then root and directly install PA. Thanks for trying to help. I really appreciate it. Cheers

That's the pure stock rom by samsung mate. Android Revolution is same + some mods (which I don't like). If you want AOSP google stock look - all of them are based on CM9/10

R: [Q] s3 need some advice
It's not like u can use the same rom though...so still it's better to update via kies or ota....how many megabytes can it be?
Anyway u could use a download booster program such as internet download manager to download the file first then flash

I would normally say flash to ICS. But! There is the chance of the EU bug. Therefore I would try to flash to jelly bean first if your on stock and rooted maybe flash a custom froyo then go up to jellybean. Don't forget gapps

Yes and you need a proper recovery. I suggest you a dorimanx, but watch out for the right version. The 9.xx is for cm, aokp... and the 8.xx is for stock sammy so download the right one.

Dorimanx is an XDA dev who works on a i9100 kernel, named after himself. I absolutely love this kernel. It's stable, highly customisable and often updated. Search XDA for it and you shall find.
So you want stock, as evidenced below:

Fish finger (hahaha) all you want is to update to the latest Samsung official firmware right? If so, forget what kona said, you don't need a recovery at all. All you need to do is to flash a stock ROM via Odin, with your phone in download mode. Where to get the ROM? Search on Samfirmware.com for a stock ROM for your country, region & carrier. Then, to flash in Odin, you can click the link in my signature and find a handy link to a tutorial from there.

there is no stock Samsung 4.3 yet, just 4.2.2 leak version is out as you might have found by searching . Try Wanam's light version of 4.2.2, its as close as stock as you can get with some minor tweaks.
Thanks I'll be flashing it tomorrow looks great

Dont flash IT! You have SGH-I747 and all the roms here are for the GT-I9300 if you flash those you will brick your phone.
