I've taken on a bit more than qualified I guess as I rooted my att GS3 just fine and flashed a new aokp rom and was up and running but started to have intermitent flickering. It prompted me to reflash rom with CM10 and this is were my problems began. I wiped data/factory reset, cache partition,Dalvik cache, mounts & storage format cache, and accidentally format emmc which I think is my problem. I was able to still reboot to CWM recovery but I can't do much more than that, and now I can't get to CWM recovery mode at all. Have tried to boot and reflash from ex/sdcard no good. PC doesn't recognize phone to do recovery from backup and I didn't do internal backup which I now know was dumb. Is there anything I can do to get back up and running or did I screw myself and have to get a new phone? PLEASE HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hey. I rooted my phone 3 days ago and installed wanamlite rom. It was good but i felt uncomfortable so i wanted to install the Android Revolution rom. I read the instructions, it was okay,i placed my superwipe and rom.zip to int card. After that i made a wipe/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik then flashed superwipe from cwm. Right now i got nothing on the phone. The phone boots but stucks in galaxy s3 logo. I can go into odin mode and cwm but cannot go into fastboot. I removed my sdcard to another phone, moved the rom.zip into it then i replaced again into s3. Went to the cwm and tried to flash from sdcard but then i got the error which is "e: can't mount sdcard".. So im totally stuck, I don't know much things about what can i do now.. Please help me, thanks..
Hey guys this is my first time messing with custom roms and my biggest fear has come true i think i bricked my phone, at least soft brick.
here is what happened:
I decided to flash supernexus 5 rom and everything went well, however my wifi wasnt working i tried to do a nandroid recover from a nandroid backup that i had from a while back made with the same version of cmw but it i got the message "no files found" even when i had put the folder with the recovery in my internal storage in the cmw folder. I decided to do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache but this didn't solve my problem with cmw not detecting the files then i went on and did this i went to mounts and storage as i read on a thread that mounting and unmounting everything solved the problem for a guy but this did not help either, then i went to mounts and storage and formated cache, data and system as shown in this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCoI62PG7jE&feature=g-hist after that i tried to rebot the phone but it wont get pass the inicial galaxy s3 i9300 screen, i tried whipe data cache and factory reset again but i still can't make it boot ,I can get to recovery however it still doesn't see the folder that i have there. If i connect the phone to the pc it says installing drivers for the device but it fails and i can't see the phone anymore as connected.
Please help me you have no idea how much i saved for buying this and i don't want to loose it.
this is the version of cmw that im using CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5

You formatted system so you have no os to boot! Flash stock Rom with Odin.
Nb.......if you are using cm10/aosp you need to flash an ics Rom, let it boot, and enable wifi before then going on to flash the Rom as wifi won't work coming direct from jb Rom

can you remember if the backup was created with a different version of cwm to that which you are trying to restore it from?

yes it was the same version only thing is that when i made it i have rooted with cf-root 6.4, but after flashing the stock elk4 leak i used cf auto root and then installed the recovery on its own but is the same version.

hmmmm......not sure what the problem is then, only thing I can suggest is flash the cf root again(not the auto one) and see if that sorts it, but I would move that backup back to its original location first
thanks again!! i will try flashing it again.

It's just a shot in the dark, but it's the direction I would head in if it happened to me......or I would just abandon the backup and start afresh !
Hey guys its been since my first epic 1 that I been here..what I have is an unrooted s3 I updated it and it worked fine but the next day it wont boot past the big s....I was wondering if anyway to undo the update? I dont want to wipe and flash because all my pics and music and some important files that mever made it to my sd card..any help or idea?
Boot to recovery and clear cache and dalvic, probably won't help though.
Next step is always to factory reset, you might get around this by installing custom recovery (Philz recovery is recommended), use that to format system, data etc. before installing your previous stock rom via .zip. That way your internal sd files will still be there and the phone will boot.
Follow guides in general, stickies.
Ok but it wont let me in recovery mode.I can get into the odin but thats it.can I dl cwm to it from the comp in odin mode? Or do I have to root it from there and see what it does?
from the odin mode flash stock rom as per your region. Also please note you will loose your data.
Hello,
I have an issue with a dilemma at hand. Have ace 5830i. While formatting, something went wrong and on reboot I faced a bootloop error on the samsung animation. Thing is, I dont have a computer at hand as, funny enough, im in prison ( ). So I went ahead nd booted into recovery mode. Tried wiping cache partion nd factory reset each alone nd together after removing the battery for sometime. Nothing worked. Then I downloaded the root update. Zip and went ahead and rooted it (all went fine I suppose). Downloaded the cwm nd it worked, as in to enter the cwm recovery mode. Tried to repeat the wipe cache partition, wipe data and clear dalvik. Couldnt wipe the delvik cache (error: couldn't mount data). Searched for some firmware that I can install from sd card without odin and found jellyblast… tried and now I am stuck at the initial samsung logo not even getting to the animation part. How can I flash a new firmware without a pc!

more elaboration
Dear,
Let me explain more maybe I can get an answer on this nightmare. Have tried downloading a handful of other moded firmwares on an external memory using other phones available. Then mounted the external sd on the bricked phone nd tried tobflash through cwm by installing the correspondent .zip file of any of those firmwares. Some did state that it has beeb installed successfully yet the phone is still stuck at the initial samsung logo nd not advancing to the animation part. Niw I do have a PS4. Having said that, would I be able to flash the firmware using the PS4 console?! Forgive me if I'm sounding too ignorant on this matter, but those are the only iptions at hand. Another question; would I be able to flash a firmware from one handset to another. I have the following mibiles at hand: note3, s5, s4, s3 and s2plus.

Man, after going through this issue for sometime now, I have yet to find any answer that makes my trouble go away. Thing is, there are around 5 other phones with the same issue. All need a new firmware without a pc. Phones are very expensive here as we do pay bribes to get em in. Basically my ace 5830i costs around 2000$, which is basically double the price of an iphone 6 out there in the market!
