thank you very much
now i can flash kernel

Ok. See some people see it says unlockable and assume it already is by default.
What method are you using to flash the kernel? Talk through it step by step

There's no such thing as a best ROM, it generally depends on user's requirements. So try the ones you think are good & stick with the one you like. Thread closed.

Rooting help.

Hey guys,
I've recently converted to the S3 from the GNex.. I'm used to the stock android feel. I've read that the Galaxy S 3 comes with unlocked bootloaders.. does that mean if I root I wouldn't have to clear data?
Because I'm honestly willing to settle with this phone, I've changed 7 phones in past 6 months and I'm sick of losing my data..
So help me..
Can I root without losing data?

yeah you can just root using cf root
I'm really interested in rooting.. but I'd prefer staying on stock ROM. Is there a way I can root, and modify the stock ROM?

Really easy and clean way to root your phone is through the SG3 Toolbox. Check out:

There are a whole bunch of other very useful tools also included.

yes you would be able to flash a unbranded firmware just flash it through odin the nonce youve done that set the phone up the flash cf root
Does it necessarily need to be through odin? Will it not work using the toolkit?

using odin only takes about 30seconds to do the set up then about 5minutes to flash the actual firmware ive never used toolkit so i dont know how long it takes doing it that way

The toolkit is doing the same thing. It's best that you learn to do it through Odin. It's far more safe this way it's not like you are going to break it or anything.
Let's hope not

[Q] cannot register mobile network...

HI guys. My cousin was running miniCM10 on his x10 mini. all went fine. but from yesterday it had issue with GSM calling. ( cannot able to speak or hear and the call disconnects in 25 seconds automatically. so he asked me to put on some stable GB roms. i installed GingerDX GB rom and had the same exact CALL issue. so i decided to use SEUS and revert back to stock 2.1. i installed stock 2.1, but now my mobile network is not connecting. both automatically and manually. it can see all the available networks, but when i try to connect my network , it says " Your SIM does not allow connection with this network"
any ideas guys ?

strange..that some people can unlock on jb, some not (excluding people like me, who are unable to unlock in general ^^)
so maybe Asus is providing an updated version of the unlock tool in the near future...a working one would be really nice...

First attempt. I never tried to unlock it on ICS since I didn't want to void the warranty.
I upgraded to JB via the US_epad_user_10_4_2_15_UpdateLauncher.zip flash from micro-sd, and lost root in the process.
Since my warranty is almost over, I said the hell with it and unlocked with the UnLock_Device_App_V6.apk tool from Asus, so I could get root back.
Worked perfectly on the first try!
Good to hear! kwineon's experience had me thinking it wouldn't work.
I'm going to pull the trigger and unlock/nvflash soon. I've held off and postponed the OTA.

Need DE Tester for 4.4.2 leak.

Ok. I made a 100% stock rom based on the touchwiz kitkat note 3 international leak. I need a couple people to test it for me because I don't have a developer edition device. Which is needed because of the updated kernel. Contact me at [email protected] on Hangouts. Warning retail owners do not message me because it won't work.

I'll just leave this here to test among the developer edition devices. Warning, may or may not work, I am not responsible for any damages to your device that you flash, and only DE devices...

You will need to install the kernal. Which SS does not do. Even getting it running you would have lots of issues with a 4.3 kernal.
