Hello,
Posting here is my last resort, so I really would appreciate any help at all.
I have been running Rootbox 2.8, and then today I flashed Pier's 8/10 AOKP build which was supposed to rectify the RILJ wakelock issue. Have also tried both the default CM10 kernel and Dorimanx's latest MALI release.
However, my RILJ issue still remains unresolved.
I have tried the following:
1) Tried over 5 modems from the matching RIL + modem thread (by hawkerpaul is that his name?)
2) Tried to reboot the phone in airplane mode
3) Disabled latitude + google now
4) Toying with Fast Dormancy (my carrier, Starhub [Singapore] supports FD)
I'm really at a loss and it's draining my battery like mad (Am on a 2000mAh battery).
I'm running my rom at 200dpi.
Or could there be any apps causing this RILJ wakelock?
I'll post a BBS log when I can.
Until then, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The RILJ fix has already been included in Pier's 8/10 unofficial rom, mate. I checked the change log.
Still no go for me

I am on jellybam 20121010 version, XXLPQ modem, cm-jbmali-vsync kernel (came with the rom)-, this rom it's based on aokp build 4.
I have the RILJ problem and uninstalling Google Maps and disabling location services worked for me so far, try it out
Still having this issue till this day. Nothing has worked. Please help
Getting a correct RIL/modem pairing might help. Lots of threads on here/elsewhere about same. You know what to do.
GetRIL is an app on Google Play which allows to pair the correct RIL & modem. Check it out!
I remember in the good ol' days (a few months ago) the best way to fix RILJ wakelocks was to put airplane mode on, reboot, wait a few minutes, then take it off. Just play around toggling airplane mode. Don't know if that still works.
Thanks for the suggestions but like I've said, I've tried them all. Perhaps it's just my luck

My GPS won't work when the phone is connected to wifi. When I switch off wifi and restart a GPS related app it works.
I also use a program called 'GPS status plus' and in its settings I select 'delete agps data' then 'refresh GPS data'. That fixes the occassional problem I have with GPS not locking. So long as wifi is off.

Thanks for the lengthy and detailed explanation of the circumstances, things you've done and brightness levels of your phone screen. Oh wait, you supplied less information that the Gestapo at Auschwitz. Try wiping your phone and reinstalling everything, making sure you do it in the right order. Alternatively, download the apps from the marketplace. And if you can't get them working after hours of head scratching and problem solving THEN make a post telling us what you've done and we can try to help.
Frack ! I "thanks" the first post by accident and I can't "unthank".
I'll try to answer. Why ? Because it's a beta maybe.

Hi,
I have found that my battery which currently is still the standard one drains very fast and my phone is getting very warm.
However I have noticed that once my battery hits 50% it cools down and does not deplete so quickly.
I do have a programme that is left running which is a VOIP / SIP client I use CSipSimple.
Is there something that I could try to get the phone to last longer on the battery?

1. Post your ROM details. Goto Settings - About, post everything, preferably a screenshot.
2. Post screenshot of your battery info
3. Download better battery stats (paid in playstore, free on XDA), and check what's causing the problem.
4. Download cpuspy, run it for some time and check your cpu usage

Hi,
Ok I have attached a few screen shots as asked
I have downloaded CPU SPY and will leave this to gather some info and I have also downloaded BATTERY SPY and will do the same.
Do you have a link to better battery stats?
I have also noticed that when I leave my phone on when charging it gets very very hot and sometimes does not full charge after a 9 hr charging window.
However if I switch the phone off it stays cool and is fully charged.
First try to remove your external sd card and check if problem has been solved. Sometimes if there are corrupted media files or there is huge amount of such data, media scanner gone crazy and bootloops itself when trying to index them all.
You could use some kind of apps to disable media scanner (old Nitrality or something newer like Rescan Media ROOT) or remove your movies, music and pictures temporary from phone. After that wipe data of media storage and gallery from settings-applications menu and reboot your phone.
Of course do not overclock your phone. You could also try to set it in battery saving (eco) mode when charging. Disable all wireless communication (mobile data, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS) and turn Airplane mode on.
Sometimes phone is getting hot while playing games when WiFi or mobile data are enabled. This could be kernel related issue (if custom) or inproper to your baseband Radio Interface Layer (RIL) driver installed. You can fix it by installing Getril from playstore and downloading ril corresponding to actually used baseband.
Of course it could be also some crapware on your phone installed. Or configuration issues (scheduled tasks, etc.) I don't know what kind of apps you have got on your device and how you using them. If your problem persist than try to factory reset your phone to be sure that this is not some kind of app issue.

How do I find out which RIL I need and where can I download it from?
You can choose it in this app. Tap on the ril above 'Download & install Ril ' button and select one which match your baseband or leave this proposed by app and hit mentioned above button.

Thought you would say that I have tried that but it still tells me the RIL and Baseline do not match after I have installed it.
In this case you could try to flash LPA modem (for this one you have ril installed). Or flash any other modem you like and than change your ril.
Reboot after changing to be sure it's properly loaded.

I'm getting similar issues, phone heating up, battery draining very fast. I've recently brought a new 2500mA battery from Ebay, and have been getting very fast drain issues. It has been going on for a few days now, even before the new battery. If you could tell me how to set up better battery stats, I'd happily provide you with a dump. I've tried changing from ICS to JB. Downloaded the correct RIL. Reset the fuel gauge, calibrated the battery at 100% Only thing I've not tried is gingerbread (I've never had GB on this device) and starting over with ODIN.

Hello
First of all, sorry of any bad or wrong english, it's not my native language.
I have a very annoying wakelocks problem with my I9100T.
My carrier is Pelephone (Israel), I bought the device about a year and a half ago.
A few months after I got it, I decided to root and to flash a different rom.
I've had many roms since them, mostly stock-based, but I've tried a few AOKPs too.
The problem is basically this:
No matter what rom or what kernel or what modem I install, battery is terrible. With the help of BBS I was able to learn that the cause of this is excessive wakelocks, mostly RILJ, radio-interface, l2_hsic and umts-ipc0. This causes an extreme battery drain, 25%-35% drain in a 7-hour sleep night with wifi/3g/bt/gps/background apps all off and no body touching the device. It is extremely frustrating and makes the phone useless as of the everexisting fear of battery running out.
I've tried tens of different roms, Stock-based (Villain, Neat, Litening, WanamLite, Alliance and a few others I can't remember), AOKP-based (The only one I remember by name is ResurrectionRemix 2.6/2.6.1 and a few JB releases too) across different versions of android.
Tried them with the default kernel, with CF kernel, siyah, phenomenal, dorimanx.
Tried 10+ different modems including 3 extracted from my carrier's official roms (JJKF3, JJKI2 JJLP8).
All of them have the same exact issue.
Only time I remember not having this issue is with old GB roms. CheckROM V4/V6 did not have any battery problems, battery was perfect.
Also Litening rom V6.1 XXKH3, dates as back as aug 11'. Battery was badass there.
I've tried using the phone without restoring anything, tried freezing everything that I don't need, tried even freezing anything that is not necessary for the phone to run (eventually had a phone with no SMS/phone abilities, no play store, no syching, no properly working bluetooth/wifi connections) and still wakelocks occured.
When I first switched to ICS, I also had a 'MediaServer' wakelock, fixed by deleting 'corrupt' files from sd/external. The RILJ, radio-interface, l2_hsic and umts-ipc0 remained and I can't find a conclusive cause/solution.
Fast dormancy is not supported so I always turn it off via *#9900#, or that app for AOKP roms.
I remember a rom in which turning on/off airplane mode would help for a few hours. Then the wakelock returns. Haven't tried it recently, it doesn't quite solve the problem anyway so why bother with it.
I've noticed BBS showing "No or unknown signal" and "No data connection" at 100% time, which is weird.
Recently tried WanamLite/VK based on XXLSJ 4.1.2 leaked stock firmware, same problem.
Finally after some more research here in XDA I've tried to fix RIL/modem mismatch with GetRIL. I have flashed WanamLite 12.8, installed RIL via GetRIL so now it says "RIL/Baseband is matching". A quick look at BBS and battery history still shows RILJ, radio-interface, l2_hsic and umts-ipc0 wakelocks, so I wiped battery history and charged it to a full 100%, currently waiting for BBS to collect data to present here.
I can see that the problem is something about the radio/modem, but since I've tried many of them, I figured it's something that has to do with my device/carrier and not the modem itself. That's why I've tried Pelephone's modems, and recently Wanam's default modem (UHLPH) with matching RIL.
I wanted to try Pelephone's modem with matching RIL but GetRIL tries to install RIL for a different modem since it can't find one for pelephone's, and after a reboot it shows "unknown" baseband and no reception. This isn't important anyway because if it was a 'drainy' modem, it would have been much less drain and would have been better with other modems.
This is clearly something bigger and more persistant, something I'm missing as of my limited knowledge in android modems/system.
I would very much appreciate help with this in any way, ideas of what to try, info about related subjects, perhaps even a cause or a solution.
A friend of mine has the same phone with the same carrier with similar issues (yet a bit different), but the info I'm getting from him is limited and not conclusive. Based on it I can't say it's 100% environmental, nor can I say I'm the only one with the issue.
I'm ready to try anything - ROMs, kernels, modems, apps, tweaks etc.
I will be posting BBS screens and logs here once they'll be more accurate, for now I've attached a 10-min history and BBS screens.
Thank you for any help or assistance.
I have had the exact same issues as you Fast Dormancy, &RILJ on my AOKP Milestone 1 4.1JB. I used the toggle fast dormancy app to fix the first issue. For the RILJ i used the getRIL app, then disabled location services and auto sync for google. Fast dormancy is fixed now. I still get a lot of RILJ wakelocks but the numbers have gone down noticably. Battery performance have significantly improved though. These are the standard fixes i managed to find in the forums. Have you already tried these steps?

You did quite a lot but did you ever check your APN settings? Some of the wakelocks in your BBS log could be due to bad/wrong APN settings, so check them very carefully, especially the proxy settings (if any).
Sometimes (in my case) it is even better to create a new, "empty" APN. The only values set in my "empty" APN are: Name, APN, MCC, MNC, Authentication type and APN type. All other settings are not set.

Forgot to mention it in the original post. I always check my APNs since all roms have the wrong internet APN of my provider (It's been updated for smartphones, for some reason most roms still set the old one by default). Usually it also adds some more APNs of a different provider that uses the same network and the same cell towers, so I have to delete them and modify the existing. Internet always worked just fine with the APN I set. I don't really use MMS so I guess that doesn't matter.

CM9.1.0 stable version has a better battery and less l2_hsic wakelocks (wake count is about the same but count and expired count are both 0).
This is the only rom that has any difference in l2_hsic wakelocks except GB roms.
I am opening this thread because i don't know what to do anymore to disable fast dormancy on my GS2 (i am on jellybean 4.2.2 : RootBox 4.1/kernel : DorimanX 9.32 and LS8 modem).
I ve tried the "toggle fast dormancy i9300" application and tried even the manual way (editing the nwk_info.db as says this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1086599 )
Some guys on CM theard pointed out that this could be caused by the JellyBean RILs (mine is LS8(2) that comes whith RootBox 4.1) so is there any workaround to do to disable the FD to get rid of that "fd_secril-interface" ??
It is driving me crazy
Up. (sorry for double posting but i am in a deadend right now ..)
I'm on practically the same set up as you (dorimanx 9.16 instead of 9.32, and XXMS2 modem).
I used the i9300 app, what indicates to you that it doesn't work? I get less than 5min fd wakelock in 15 hours.

I am still seeing the "fd_secril-interface" wakelock in BBS so i think that even a little wakelock period means that it doesn't work .. the wakelock is supposed to go away ..
For the RIL, when i was on RootBox 4.0 i messed up with the RIL (installed LQ6 modem with LQ6 RIL with the app getRil) and it made disabling FD work (ive never seen again the wakelock in BBS) but i had huge problems of IMEI and network so i don't want to mess with the RIL anymore.

And never mess with the RIL for now on JB, just leave it
I did try LQ6 / MS2 / LS8 and LS9 without any improvement.. I'll give it an other try !

The other thing to do is cut down on network traffic while the phone is not being used (obviously). The less data being transferred, the smaller the fd wakelock (again, stating the obvious)

I can only offer that on stock JB ROM you can enter "*#9900#" in the dialer and click enable/disable fast dormancy in the menu that pops up. I've read somewhere here that you can see it working in the status window that you get when you enter "*#0011#" in the dialer. But all that is unlikely to work on other ROMs.

I can only offer that on stock JB ROM you can enter "*#9900#" in the dialer and click enable/disable fast dormancy in the menu that pops up. Hi, I am using rooted galaxy s3.
I have attached my device details.
Recently I have found that my battery is draining very fast and the culprit seems to be gpsd. I have read lots of forums to solve the issue but didn't get any help.
i read it in some forum to solve the issue, it said to rename the /system/bin/gpsd to gpsd.bk , i tried it doesn't seem to apply the change in the name. Its a known battery drain issue. Please help me out.
Either you have an app which is updating location all the time or corrupt data/system. First try disabling gps in location settings, if that helps then find the app which is causing the problem. If disabling gps didn't help then factory reset your phone, finally flash the latest stock rom if all else fails.

Factory reset or flash the correct rom for your country via odin.
Just because a high number is reported doesn't mean its draining anything.
