ive searched high and low, to no avail. Ive sat down and searched everywhere, and for the life of me, i cannot figure out why i cant theme my miui dx2. Is there different types of themes, like v4 and something else... the ones ive found online that i actually liked were all v4, but when i used the theme app that came with miui rom, it says its not compatible... im sure im overlooking something stupid easy, but after hours of googling everything under the sun ive given up. Any info would be helpful. If it helps, when ive downloaded themes, I have switched them from sc/download to sdcard/miui/themes, and it still wont work.

ok so anyone who was curious about this, i finally figured it out. I went back through the whole process, sbf to 2.3.4, one click root, apply zip from sd card, wipe everything. Basically your whole root and rom process all over again. But the first thing i did, instead of snooping first, was do the re-install the cm7 bootstrap recovery, then do the terminal command that comes in the instructions. Hopefully my ridiculous struggle actually helps someone lol

I have been running Bionix NextGen V2 for several months now and really liked the rom. Unfortunately I have started having a few issues with the rom. I have missed about 10 phone calls in the past 2 weeks due to the phone not ringing and it also not telling me that I have voicemails. Also sometimes when I try to open one text it will open a different one. So if anyone knows a way to fix this please help me. If I can not get it fixed then I would be looking for a new rom, but I would like one that is like it so that I do not have to disable voodoo or anything like that. I am still kind of a noob when it comes to flashing and I dont want to screw up the phone. Thanks in advance for the help!
Project V is gonna be your best bet...i had those same issues with pretty much all bionix roms...though i still loved bionix.
I run miui now and will never be looking back, just not for beginers though,so i would suggest project v
How does it compare and does it still have the swype and gingerbread keyboards?
As i recall it was alot like bionix 1.3.x i liked it alot, has some cool tweaks.....im on miui now and have been for a few months now so i cant recall much more than i liked it and everything worked fine
It does not have the gingerbread keyboard though correct?
Whether or not it does or does not....gb keyboard can be dl'd thru market lol.
You ask for an opinion i gave you one its only a matter of flash it and see,if you dont like it flash another
Stupid question. If I do a wipe/ factory reset, do I have to root the phone again or does it stay rooted?
Stays rooted
Ok I was told that it would have to be rooted again. So I am not really sure on this.
Btw i went ahead and checked for you.....yes it has gb keyboard
If you have RomManager Premium, you can download and install MIUI right from there. That's what I did while I was running Bionix 1.3.1
ok, glad to hear I'm not the only one running Bionix and having issues with text/voicemail notifications..

I thought I would stick with sense roms for a while, but I've had it a month, and I'm already using launchers to change the look and feel.
Anyways, I wanna try an aosp rom like cm7 or thunderbread.
Right now I'm running gingeritis 3d (sense), and I used the kernel that was recommended.
My question is, and I know this is a lot about preference but, what is the best aosp rom out there right now that's stable and fast? And what kernel should I use? battery life isn't a huge deal for me since I'm near a plug most of the day, but I'd like at least 6-7 hrs from it.
if anyone has any info and suggestions, I'd appreciate it

There is no best. there is all personal preference. The asop/asop type roms I can think of off the top of my head is OMFGB, MIUI, and CM7. All being at a stable point in development. So look at them and figure out which one you would like best
I'll just make this simple.
I'm looking for a
Kernel that works with cm 7.
It needs to be fast stable, and everything working.
What have you used?
Which ones did you have a good experience with?
I'm wanting to flash today and could use a prod in the right direction for my first aosp experience.
Thanks
(and if you have links, that'd be awesome)

I'm on taptalk right now so searching is a real pain. Look up imoseyn kernels. He has sense and asop roms. Go to the development section. Plenty of info there for you. Whatever you do do not rush into flashing something just because you want to. Read, research, read some more, then make sure you understand what your doing before you do, so if you have an issue you can possibly save yourself lots of headache.

I've done a ton of reading, researching and everything. I'm not a tech noob at all. I actually own a pc repair business. and I've successfully flashed phones before.
Like I said, I did the first flash a day or so after getting it (to Gingeritis 3D) and everything went fine. (after getting the correct radio that is)
Anyways, I choose CM7 and downloaded Zoom kernel, which is Here
The CM7 file i downloaded is: update-cm-7.1.1-Thunderbolt-signed.zip
Which I thought was the correct one.
I also downloaded a MR2.5 radio. Although I'm not 100% its the BEST one, but I know it works with CM7. and I did get a signal with it.
but even after wiping everything, and doing it over and over, I can't get past the white htc splash screen.
Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Solution Found!!
I had been doing everything right, but it seems Clockwork Mod Recovery was corrupt or something.
What I did:
I restored back to my last backup.
Opened Rom Manager
Click "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery" (the top one, even if it says your up to date)
after it flashes CWM successfully, either download and flash a rom from Rom Manager, or do it manually as I did.
And after the flash, I rebooted, and it went right to the CM7 boot animation, and loaded perfectly.
If you were like me and searched google, and found lots of posts with the same issue, but no solutions. So I hope this helps others.
Thanks for all the help guys!
(goes to show sometimes you just gotta try anything and everything)

I hope you didn't take what I wrote as negative to your skills. I didn't mean to make it sound like you didn't know what you were doing lol just threw ideas out there hoped one might spark a thought.
Glad you got it up and ruining. Already nice when someone posts how they fixed something, in case any of us end up with the same issue gives us more troubleshooting ideas.

i've used many sense & aosp roms myself and will say that aside from sticking with an actual cyanogen rom directly, the latest "SHIFTAO5P" that's been re-worked by dhacker, 2.8 is really nice & stable(and the location/gps actually works).
I agree with you on the sense though, I could never stand the actual sense launcher and always just used Launcher Pro.
Also if you use aosp you will run into issues with the flash player. I know when I was on CM7 it happened. I tried out MUIU and I had problems with flash and I had to do that flash player trick (look it up) to get it to work. I never tried OMFGB but I have tried CM7 and MIUI and they're both sweet. My favorite one is Liquid Smooth. but its up to you. They're all great

I thought there was an AT&T OTA to go to 2.3.7 so I was wondering if there was ever a ROM based off of it, or if anyone ever grabbed the update. I looked around but the only 2.3.7 ROM's I could find were CM7's. I was also thinking of looking through Motorola's server but I've never done that before and couldn't remember the procedure on how to do that.
I'm currently on epinters CM10 which is great but I want fingerswipe/webtop back. I've used Nottachrix's ROM in the past and thought it was really good, but there's no more support for it, so the quest begins. Also I figure if nothing else, if I could get a fruitcake of it, it'd be a good place to start hacking up a ROM.
As far as I know, 2.3.6 is the last official Blur release for the Atrix.
Okay, maybe I was just trippin' then.. Yeah the more I look, I can't find it. My mind is playing tricks on me I guess! Thanks.
Well, I've had my vibrant and my gs2 for a long time and have always flashed all kinds of roms on both. I'm no pro but I try to learn from the people here. But lately I can't figure out what's wrong with my vibrant. I tried resetting it with odin and flashing different, stable, well known roms on it but it still acts funny. It will work for a bit then start shutting off, not letting me turn it on and just shows the spinning star circle for a little bit. I have to plug it in and mess with it a little to get it to turn on or go in download mode. I've searched a lot, tried to find a solution but nothing so this is my last resort. I'd like to hear form people who had the same problem and what did you do please
I just managed to get it to turn on again but I don't know what to do before it goes off again. It is on ics passion v13.1. It's also unlocked. If this is some stupidly simple problem I'm sorry but I am seriously getting annoyed with the phone. Thanks for any help.
Well Passion is definitely dated, and not in a good way. If ICS is your choice flavor, by all means don't let me talk you out of it.....
However. I personally suggest you Odin back to stock, with repartition checked and flash up to Helly Bean. I haven't used CM10 yet (official build) so I can't comment personally on it, but you could try that. At least they are new and still very much supported.
GPS is broken, and 911 may not work, but those issues aside I've heard nothing but good things about them. I've been on Helly Bean since 8/12 and it's quite smooth.
Your issue might be kernel related. Keep us posted on what route you take, maybe we'll learn more about your problem and discover a solution.

Your battery could possibly be going bad. If it still acts funny on stock JFD then its probably your battery. I would flash back to stock 2.1 with Odin and see if the problem goes away, then flash back to ics if that's what you want. You could maybe try calibrating your battery too, not likely to be the problem but worth a shot.

well I tried just having the phone back to stock with odin and just rooted and unlocked. I also tried other roms that are not ics and things that people suggested. still, the problem is the same. it's so weird. I tried a new battery too. now i have to get a new phone pretty much. it's just a shame since there isn't a scratch on my vibrant.

Hm, interesting.
Did you overclock/undervolt a lot with this phone?

Im no pro or even a novice at this, but to me it sounds like a pending hardware failure. This sounds alot like what happened to my Toshiba laptop.
Try installing a good kernal, try subzero first.
I think I'll try that before I give up. I'll let you know what happens. Thank you for the suggestions
So I have a droid Eris and after a while of searching found an xtrSENSE 5.0.1 rom that I installed and I like it so far its faster and everything but I've been scouring pages on here about it and would like to try a gingerbread like GSB 4.5, CM7 or froyo or something else but I can't find any working links here after searching for hours...
Yes I know I could get a newer or different phone and try stuff for it, but I happen to have this phone and want to play with it and see what it can do.
So if anyone can provide me links to these, I would very much appreciate it.
Also, I am new here, Hi everybody
I have a lot of these still in my Dropbox.
