Hi all!
I just wanted to know which (Custom)-ROM does provide the best camera for the XPeria Mini.
Thanks for helping!!!
lol?
What´s so funny about it?
It's funny cuz it's a 5MPX camera on all MDPI's. You can't get a better cam just by changing software. You can tweak it though.
Go to my xmod thread and scroll to credits. You'll find a link to the high quality cam mod. Basically what it does is it raises vid bitrate and sets jpeg to 100%
Hope that helps you..

Thank You! This helps. Of course I didn´t mean that a ROM changes the camera hardware. I only wanted to know which ROM provides the best tweaks.
In the thread for HQ-Camera I cannot see that a version for ICS mdpi is provided... any help?

Hi guys..i just want to open a discussion here related to x10's scrolling behaviour.
So, everybody know that with fps uncap we are able to reach 54-55 fps in 2d graphic. This means a faster response of the phone to human interactions..so faster animations, faster "finger following behaviour" ecc..
But i also noticed that scrolling quality seems worse..it's faster than before but seems that during the scroll phone loose some frames..the result is a non smooth and fluid scrool..but a nervous one..i saw it in particular scroolling between may thread using xda app!! I'm trying to use different roms and custom kernels and different cpu governor/io schedulers/cpu frequencys..but i think that is something over!! So is it possible that fps uncap is causing some "glitching" during scrolls and cause the phone to looses frames?maybe if anyone know a way to set a custom fps cap(ex. 45 fps)..we can prove if scrool can be affected!! I'm very interested in finding a way to improve x10 touchscreen behaviour..yes i know that the essential problem is the bad combination "older gpu-high resolution" but i think that there is something else..maybe a bad SE optimization of touch libs but these are deep problem and only devs can make something. So..i'll much appreciated who reply with his experience and impressions..
P.s: pps don't tell me.." my phone is faster..no problem..ect.." ..i know that the phone is faster now (thanks to our awesome devs) but this a different problem..
I hope that someone can explain me some reasons about that!

Has to do with the display's refresh rate which is, if I am not mistaken, 30 Hz.
And that's why the 30 fps cap was there to begin with.
45-50 fps work quite good, but in order for the graphical glitches you mention
to be eliminated we have to figure out a way to increase refresh rate
(and possibly burn out our screens...! )

You mean the refresh rate?
It's hardware related for sure.
In order to tweak it, I believe we need the drivers for the display chipset,
so it's not related to SE directly.

Uhmmm...
I sense you are searching for an easy way to do this,
but unfortunately there isn't any.
Think of it this way: it's like trying to mess with the refresh rate of your TV.
It's not as easy as editing a system file.

Well, there are certainly better phones out there,
some might even be cheaper than the X10.
What can you do?

I just hate the fact that android don't support gpu accelleration..and that thing is a big deal..and moreover..we are stuck with refresh rate..at this point i think that it will be better to have a little less fps..in order to have a better quality scroll..but also this solution is not possible at the moment and seems that i'm the only preoccupied by this issue!! I know..now i'm spamming a little bit..but it is a lot of time that i'm trying to catch attention regarding this problem!!

Official 2.3.3 stock ROM
U can use Wolf's ROM, stable and everything works so nice.
Im using EWJet (2.3.3), its nice - fast and everything works fine
So, cam is same as Wolfs right ?

In all stock-based ROM's cam is the same
Dixperia, wolf EW jet , thgo !! all stock based . lol as mentioned above
Thanks dudes! Now im a bit smarter!
Stock 2.1 holds the best camera/camcorder.
The camera as far as pictures is no different on 2.1 or 2.3, the video recording is useless on 2.3...much better and louder on 2.1
Therefore, stock 2.1 is better allround.
Unfortunately most custom roms has built-in ugly precompiled camera app without zoom, brightness, face detect and more good stuff from stock cam app
I am on Wolfbreak's v7 ROM, and the Camera is the same as the stock 2.3.3. No differences.
I have tried lots of popular roms.
Wolfs doomlord ROM is the best so far, stable and fast.
Cyanogenmods camera app is total crap, some versions even dont have AF!
Well infinity focus is the best way to go with the xperia as af is crap. Do the CM roms have the exposure +/- slider?
X10 cam is way better than my last phone, ZTE Blade cam
Samsung galaxy can is the worst. Making a video yesterday and auto focus was being an itch
Sent from FeraLabs v;3.0 Rom + patch +theme = best Rom ever for my x10. (Xda Premium)
If I helped you Out Hit Me up
And Press the Thanks BUTTON^_^
I think the same - Wolfs i very good and stable, and camera is brilliant, like should be. Try DiXperia and Th too.
I try FeraLab, feels interesting
btw, does memcard speed (class) affect camcorder FPS and pic saving speed ?
I mean, right now i have orig. class2 8GB card, but if i change it to class10 card, is it good ?
Sorry for my bad English (H)
hello all! I was looking for a camera app that allows me to choose the frame rate, or one that already has a high frame rate, something like 50/60 fps.
I saw this interesting feature, from a guy who had a motorola, who recorded the video with high fps and then watched in slow motion, and I was really impressed with this,
I also noticed that on the iPhone there is an app that allows you to do this, I do not see why a phone like ours with a 12.1 MP camera, which sony praised for its speed can not do it!
Thanks in advance for answers!
U need to buy or search for LG camera app 6.25 or 6.30
choose fps u want in taht app.
deleted
yes the lgcamera is a very good camera but on the xperia s is a kernel-camera drivers limitation max 30 fps i know the xps is capable of 50,maybe 60 fps, becose the htc vivid with lower specs than the xps can! but someone must mod the kernel, maybe if we ask gently DoomLord he is the expert in kernel building!

Xperia Z2 camera can record upto 240fps in 720p
Its limited to 120fps just for bitrates sake (aka higher quality)

I dont recomend modifying the camera app
120fps is safe. I found device overheats like it does with 4k when recording @240fps an 320fps
Its not recomended, bit rate needs to be lowered at 240, quality becomes poor :/

yes but i want to try it
overheating not a very much problem this devices are space age devices in too much heat they would shut down
so how can we set 240 or 320 fps ?

Modify the camera app
As said i dont recomend. My device got so hot within 2 minuites it froze up and it continued to get hotter after it crashed, it didnt respond to the reset key at all for a good few minuites.
Im not doing it again because of what damage may come.
So learn how to do this your self and do it at your own will. If you damage your device its your fault.

I dont have a link to how to
but google the folowing
Decompiling apks
App modding
(there are enough guides out there)
Once you learn to decompile you need to look for a media profiles file

wouldn't it be possible with modifying some files at the root level ?
or you can simply provide apk

No.
No again, if you want this, do it your self, i will not assist in any way just because of there being potential negative repocutions.

True that. How about this, if i find a way to run a higher fps rate without overheating or terrible quality then ill post a mod. As for now its going to be left in the mod.
i have learned that you can push the Camera beyond its self but it seems certain batches are capable of this.
Current informationtime before shutdown due to heat)
120fps:11mins ~ 01Hr:09mins
240fps:40seconds ~48mins
360fps:3 seconds ~2mins:33 seconds
I didnt lower the bitrates at all in these tests
Lowring the bitrate extended the 120fps record time upto 3hours max
Also i learned it maxed at 4GB and then stops for some reason (probably filesystem format or something silly like that)
Also recording in dark rooms to lower filesize
I do not want to provide a Mod that is Dangerous to users at all even if i write out a Fancy Disclamer

there is absolutely no way to harm your hardware i am pretty much sure of it
even if it is 40 seconds i would like to try it and 360 too
lowering bitrate for higher fps i would also accept that
check this video with using xperia z2 camera they got 720p 480p all with advanced software
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j0gCXjHuKQ
so comon i would like to be a test subject
we are doing hardcore overclocking with our processors , ram freqs and nothing happens worst thing is shut down or slow down by motherboard
i am using my core i7 2600k @ 4.5GHZ

This guide doesnot include modifying fps but I think it can help you.

there are other companies who uses same camera hardware and record 480 fps at 720p
Anyone use it still? I only find links that aren't here on XDA. What's the benefit?

DRM fix is updated with it. Along side battery issue fixes.
Androplus kernel seems very slightly degraded the camera quality, photo a bit softer or just tuned the stock sharpness level lower. It could be a pros and cons.

The sony camera driver is a mass and since your kernel is heavily tuned so it could be a side effect. The last time I tried your v31 when I compared it with stock kernel, I found the image very slightly softed but it is very hard to notice so should be safe for most people. Recalled my memory, I remember there was a couple of guys on Z5 board who mentioned the same result.
However, the default sharpness is a bit over and some might actually prefer a bit softer in my opinions so it is not real a problem.
Keep your hard work up, thanks for supporting Z5c and starting to support X Performance. :good:
V33 = Great kernel
