Installed the OTA stock ROM ICS 4.0.4 but unfortunately the optional SD card reader for the port won't be recognized anymore. Is there any possibility to reactivate separately or is this going alongside with each stock upgrade ?
Same issue here...

Someone already asked rs125 for the possibility of porting touchwized ics from 7500 like the one you and I have right now. I went back to isi's 3.2 when I saw asphalt 7 was totally unplayable with stock 4.0.4 nor any cm9/10. With Isi's 3.2 works near perfect, altough it drains battery faster than 4.0.4.
Same problem...
Not solution at this time ?

It's working just fine. You just need an app to mount the SD card. I use the one from Chainfire called StickMount, it mounts it in a folder in /sdcard partition. It also has an option to auto-mount every time you plug in the device, it runs a notification while the device is connected and when you click the notification it unmounts the device.

So I purchase the app yesterday and so far is working great is a good concept for those that like ASOP roms but dont want to give up the 3D feature...
How does it work?
gflam said:
If i told you that i'd have to kill you...
Nah it basically just makes imgs on your sdcard and creates file systems on it then the rom is extracted to the imgs and the boot.img of the rom is edited to tell what to mount. That's the basic idea but it's obviously a lot more complicated then that.

My two questions are:

What roms are you running?
My personal setup:

Gonna say you're using miui when you go to switch the image we've already found that miui gallery handles things different/weirdly it's been fixed for a while now and is in the next update we've just been wrapped up in this other app we're working on. We plan to release next week and then we'll be working on a tool box for Sourcery ROM which is coming soon to the gnex and i originally did with eagle1967 on the droid1. Anyway hopefully we'll have the fix out for miui gallery very soon just been really busy for now just boot to another rom that isn't miui and change the image there.
Also let me know if it's not miui gallery although i'd be surprised if it wasn't
=========================
As for the class 4 card i only run sd roms lately and i'm using a class 2 card and heck if i can run one of these roms on a class 2 card and not complain about speed you should be golden on a class 4 the only thing that matters is finding your sd booster speed once found you should be able to run smoothly on any card
Ok so bootmanager and the roms have been working well on my 32gb class 4 card, but I ran into an issue. I have
Phone Rom: CleanRom 3.0 Preview 1
Rom 1: MIUI (latest version since this post)
Rom 2: decks ICS 1-6-07
When I boot into Decks ICS, I cannot boot back into another rom with BootManager it just keeps saying "Unfortunately, Boot Manager has stopped".....How do I boot back into the phone rom ?

Hi everyone !
i have using a Samsung Galaxy S3 for one month now... and Cyanogenmod 9 for 2 weeks already.
I know about it since i have already been using Cyanogenmod for a year and a hlf on my previous phone.
My problem is very simple :
when i connect my phone to the computer, i have a screen asking me to choose a conexion type :
- MTP
- PTP
- UMS
the problem is that the last one (USB Mass Storage) is greyed out and i cannot choose it !!??
i have been searching xda forums without success about it...
My microSD is formatted in FAT32 (exFAT does not work with cyanogen)
My question now :
can anybody tell me if it works for him ? (galaxy s3 + CM9RC2 or nightly + FAT32 microSD + windows + UMS)
thanks a lot !
and thanks for the amazing work done by cyanogen team...
no answer ??
come on guys !
- samsung Galaxy s3 => best phone ever
- cyanogenmod => best rom
so i am shure we are a lot using this config !
still : have a nice day !

i think samsung may have done the most stupid mistake and remove kernel support, its not on stock firmware either
Try the SGS3 Easy UMS. Search XDA.
thanks for your answers, but :
- easy UMS is meant for stock roms and derivates... which is not the case regarding CM.
so if anybody using SGS3 + CM9 could check on his phone, please confirm me !
here is what it should look like :
http :// img.tapatalk.com/bef6d0b6-a992-883a.jpg
but for me, third option is greyed... so i cannot select it...
thks

No USB Mass-Storage is part of ICS, not Samsung phones.
It doesn't work for me either, maybe it's not supported yet?
I am running CM9 too and UMS works every now and then. ES File explorer seems to continuously scan the extsd though so sometimes it takes a couple of tries until it's mounted

well... in fact, according to what i've read, ICS does include UMS... but only for external SD cards...
Anyway, the fact that the option is visible in the usb share screen in cyanogen makes me think that it is/will be a part of CM.
therefore the question is :
- do my phone has a problem ?
- or is it a future option that CM team is currently developping ? (and yet not finished ?)
But Samusung definitely did not want us to get it...
PS : i just installed the latest nightly build of CM9 (android 4.0.4) on a galaxy S2 and i get UMS ! (through an 'android 2.3 style' usb share screen)

At least in CM10 Preview the kernel modules are present but it does not react to the commands.
It works just fine on my Galaxy SII (i777) running cm9. And it mounts both the internal and external SD cards in mass storage mode. However, I have a galaxy tab 10.1 that the option is also grayed out on. I am guessing each device has different drivers associated with UMS which may be why it isn't working on all devices yet. But, it definitely is not a problem in CM9... More the device it sits on.
Hi all I'm encountering an issue with cyanogen mod 9 4.0.3. When i try to transfer music from my computer to my external sd it tells me i cannot transfer the file. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this issue?

This is a compilation between me, houstonn and SnowLeopardJB. (Be sure to thank them!) It is stock jellybean 4.1.2 with a little modification. You do NOT need to do any special modifications/conversions to install this. Just flash in CLOCKWORKMOD only (twrp will not work). It will automatically change your language to english but the keyboard will still contain some korean characters. To change that go to settings>>language and input>>languages>>unselect korean (make sure ONLY english is selected and you will have all english)
Features:
- rooted
- busybox
- most stock bloat included
- LTE works

internal sdcard works fine. just no external sdcard. unfortunately since korean model doesnt include an external sdcard the kernel was compiled without this feature.
I know, I call internal sd "internal nand" and external sd card "sd card". I just thought perhaps it should be in the OP. Thank you guys very much for getting this thing together.

Yeah I can't use a ROM that doesn't support external SD, so I'm stuck on stock remixes until jb source drops .
I have a lot of street and topo maps in addition to a bunch of mp3's and portable mass storage (exFAT ftw) that necessitate a 64GB SD card. I just wish phone manufacturers would load devices up with hundreds of GB worth of flash because NAND flash memory has gotten so freaking cheap that it would add next to nothing to the Bill o' Materials.

Read the first post. It explicitly states that you don't have to convert jack didily squat.
This ROM has been tested and retested... IF you cannot follow instructions provided DO NOT FLASH,IF your wanting tweaks etc DO NOT FLASH OR ASK FOR THEM THERE ARE OTHER ROMS WITH YOUR WANTS AND DESIRES,Cannot dirty flash this, full wipe MANDITORY,DO NOT USE THIS WITHOUT PERMISSION, IF your wanting to use another kernel (99% stock is included) etc,DONT ASK HERE IF ISSUES ARISE (ASK THE KERNEL DEV) Folks who use this want a clean stable ROM..IF you are a flashaholic,I'd suggest copying pics, music etc to computer format your data partition then flash.
All things YOU CHOOSE to do to your phone are your responsibility,Not mine
GSM Versions ONLY
Now onto directions...Recovery used to flash this is included (use this only) stock recovery is included...Pull twrp recovery out of zip...Copy zip to internal storage...Flash recovery, factory reset wipe (from recovery) ,Install ROM...I suggest disabling animations in developer options to get the full effect of rom speed...Enjoy...

I can assure that will be better than the other, the other one is pure stock and this is atleast the logging and debug stuff removed, so you know.

Hi,
I flashed this on my T6UL using CWM 6.0.4.8 (I know, I totally ignored your instructions :fingers-crossed and it works just fine. If I notice anything unusual I'll give feedback.
Thank you for the ROM & good job!

It's basically the same ROM, just faster, more stable... Give it a try, I think you'll love it.
perfect Rom , super fast
thanks for everyone :victory:
Thanks, Glad your enjoying it...
First bump I ran into (but I am not sure if it is from the ROM or the device) - When I connect an OTG USB stick, the phone says it's in host mode and cannot charge, but I cannot see the USB OTG storage.
Tried formatting FAT32 and NTFS, tried stock file manager, ES File Manager and OTG Disk Explorer. I ran a diagnose with USB Host Diagnostics and this is the report.
The device I am using is an ADATA UD320 OTG
Just checked it, with app, rom is capable of it...and its a stock kernel not custom so dont think thats the issue. And based on the report...it would appear you need to enable 3rd party apps maybe? It also says device supports it...soo not sure there...no clue what that report is actually saying, very basic
