i have a few questiosn about the s3 , i am currently a htc desire owner so some things may sound like a noob questions but any how ..
1. newer phones htc have this feature where you can plug your phone into the pc and use your pc's internet on your phone does the s3 have anlike feature ?
2. is it possible to enable ics/jb soft keys without root etc ? (i know the s3 has a physical home key )
3 on average how is the battery for a moderate to heavy user ?

1. Yes, tethering is possible
2. Which soft keys? I believe there is a mod for that, you may also download an app at the market for that
3. It would last more or less around 10 hours

Hello guys! I'm a newbie here and I'm also new to android fons. Jz bought a Galaxy SL and I'm lovin it. Well, I suppose everyone here loves their android fons too rite? So do I haha! So there are some questions that I wanted to ask u guys and I would reli appreciate it if any of u guys can hlp me out. Advice and suggestions would much be appreciated.
The questions are :
1.) Is it normal for my android fon to heat up a little while I charge it, playing games, and surfing the web or downloading stuffs with Wi-Fi or 3G? It's nt too hot bt it heats up.
2.) Is it necessary to switch off the fon while we want to charge it? Can I play games or surf web/dl stuffs while charging?
3.) We can customize our homescreen with lots of widgets, shortcuts, folders etc etc rite? Well, I've put some widgets on 5 pages on my homescreen(total 7 for my Galaxy SL) some of them are news, weather readers, dual-clock, power ctrl, etc etc. Will these drain more battery life and slows down my fon? I've noticed that my RAM had gone up from 245/478 to 325/478 with these widgets on my homescreen & it starts to slow down a little. And yes I seldom turn on my Wi-Fi to connect to the news or weather readers of the widgets.
4.) Is it necessary to visit the task manager(once every hour or once a day) to clear some space? I'm afraid of running out of RAM because I've had ntg running and I still can clear some data it says 4 or sometimes 7 apps closed and my RAM dropped from 303/478 to 275/478. Bt after awhile it went up to 308/478 again.
5.) Well, I have Galaxy Sl with firmware : 2.2.1, baseband : I9003DXKB2, kernel : 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1, build number : FROYO.DXKF1. When I connect to Kies it says my fon version can't be updated. Does this mean I can't update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread? Or there are no official updates yet? (This is my largest concern)
Again, I would reli appreciate it if anyone can hlp me out with these. Thx a million...
Maybe that question is better asked over at the I9003 forums (I think you're supposed to use the I9000 forums, since there's only a I9003 Dev forum, but no matching general forum) ... as a happy Optimus One P500 owner I have absolutely no opinion on this
Just ask a mod to move it over there.
Phones heat up all the time. Dont worry it wont over heat. Unless you leave it in the sun!
Yea you can add widgets and stuff..
I hope devs take more notce of the phone!!

Skype, no problem at all. Dont worry if you're not gonna use the video.
(no reason to buy ace if you're gonna use the vid function since it doesnt have a front facing cam xD)
i heared that skype is putting restrictions based on the country and the best way to avoid it is by rooting the phone and installing the akp ( correct me if im wrong) is it true and if so where can i find the file (A)

ok i got an idea that is using my android for manage my blackberry virtually like a teamwiever , i have done something similar thing using 2 programs one is teamwiever installed in my pc and my android and the other one is pckeys installed in my blackberry and my pc.
ok the thing is pc keys allows me to control my blackberry from my pc and teamwiever allows me to control my pc from my android so i can use my blackberry from my android controlling my pc ... sorry i know this is really hard to understand my English really sucks ...
so i got a big question for every experienced software developer ,,, is there any way to make one program that could allows me to control my blackberry directly from my android ? or maybe is there one ?

ok now im using pocketcontrollerpro for blackberry and it is acctualy better than pc-keys ,,,, i can use my bbm from my android make calls etc using the 3g network of my android but i wish that i could controll my blackberry directly from my android instead using this metod

I did some re-SEARCH on this forum and elsewhere , but couldnt find any REAL Solution to these...
(am new to these Anderiod forums and did play around with INFUSE few months and now have SGH-i717 NOTE - rooted and unlocked - thanks to this forum)
FOR ATT NOTE::
a) REMOVE/STOP/FREEZE.... those pesky ATT APPS
I do have a PRO version to Tititinium and can freeze these apps eg MY ATT, ATT MY FAMILY etc LIVE TV etc ... but I also see that THESE still create lots of 'services/process' at HARD/COLD BOOT time .....thus 'slows down' this beast
IS THEE A WAY to DELETE - UNINSTALL these apps??
b) WIFI SHARING
How can I make this PROCESS start ONLY WHEN I WANT IT ?
( now its always running in background thus taking a LOT OF BATTERY.....)
just a FYI....
Running from the 'std ATTROM' ( also did simialr exercise on Sasung Infuse) I am able to make MAX USE of my BATTERY !! After I used these and few other tips/tricks I could use my INFUSE for two+ days (48hr+) with constant talk/data and still have 15-10% battery left ...
Now I got this shiny beast - currently stock std - it seems 'slower' than my moded INFUSE soo thus these few things...
