When I get email about someone adding me on Google+, I would click the picture or the "view profile" button and it used to launch the Google+ app. Now, it brings up a browser with a link to the mobile site or to get the Google+ app.
Tried uninstalling the app, but it comes with ICS so I could only uninstall all updates and reinstall them, didn't help.
Any ideas?

What if you just opened the app?
What is the time frame between "used to" and "Now"? Would this be from Gingerbread to ICS? If so, this sounds like a HTClinkifydispatcher.apk thing... see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696536
Not positive this is the issue, but whenever I hear of links opening the browser and not in the associated app, this always comes to mind.

Is it at all possible to recieve pokes on the app? or any app?
Im in a 3 year long poke war with 4 people and I NEED to have the ability to poke on my phone.
My BB used to be able to poke, but I cant figure out how to do it on the droid.
Any 3rd party apps that will work or what?
To my knowledge you cannot do that with the facebook app. You should be able to open the full facebook site via your internet browser and do it that way though.
From the Facebook app. Friends page>info tab>press menu>view profile>poke is on the top right.
Note: You must be logged into Facebook from the browser along with the Facebook app for this to work.

Hmph! I didn't know that being logged on through the browser brought any additional functionality to the app! Thanks.

Thanks.
Really all it does is open up Facebook mobile in the browser. It just so happens that the poke is one of the first thing that shows when the browser opens. Guess some things just work.

I'm having a small issue with Facebook on Android. However, I think it's an issue with Android itself, not the app. When I get an email from Facebook, and I click the link, my browser opens and takes to the Facebook page and asks me to log in. Why doesn't it open the link using my Facebook app? It doesn't even ask me which app to use, browser or Facebook (eg. if I have two different gallery apps, and I want to view a picture, it asks me which gallery app to use, and lets me set one as default at the same time). Is there any way to make Facebook links open the Facebook app, instead of launching the browser (or to have it ask me like it does with other apps)? The whole point of the Facebook app is so I don't need to use the browser to view Facebook.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking for a solution for this too, it's really annoying! but I've had no luck so far....
After one of the recent updates to the youtube app, I haven't been able to watch any videos. No matter what I do in the app, I always get the error "There was a problem with the network [500]" and the loading icon just spins forever. This happens on launch, when searching, and when being linked in from outside the app.
I've gotten this error before on older versions of the app, but it never prevented me from using the app. I have a feeling it has to do with my youtube account/email associated with my google account being suspended (happened years ago for uploading clips from a concert I went to, which is BS since youtube is full of them now).
Anyways, does anyone know what I can do to make the app work again? Is there a way to add an alternate youtube account? The "sign in" option does not allow me to specify an email.
I'm using a Nexus 7 on 4.2 and a Razr Maxx on 4.1.2 and Youtube app version 4.2.16
Figured out how to associate the app with a different account. Add another google account to your device, then clear data for the youtube app (or un/reinstall if it's not a system app). Launch the app and it will let you select which account to use.
Works perfectly

Thank you! works perfectly now!!
I've seen tutorials explaining how to use mobile facebook from a web browser.
I have also seen a hack where a correctly-named dummy app makes facebook think fb messenger is already installed. I'm not sure if this works with later versions of facebook.
What I've done so far is install an old version of facebook from July 2014, then used titaniumbackup to break the market link. So that it does not come up in my update or update all lists in play store.
The problem with what I'm doing now is that the facebook app periodically restores the market link so that I am not able to forget about my facebook workaround and update my other apps normally.
I wonder if there is a better hack for a rooted android galaxy s2 that keeps facebook messages in the app but does not require any further attention.
There were also third party apps that could show the facebook newsfeed and send messages but I no longer see them in the play store. Is there an app that I could sideload that is recommended to replace the facebook app?
Any help is greatly appreciated on this.
I think the easiest is just using an old version. Facebook 1.9.12 never asks for the update. Message away to your heart's content. It's posted on another xda thread
HI!
I'm new to this and my English is not so good but I have a problem
That I hope someone can help me with!
I have exictenz 6.3.5 rom and now my Facebook is not working as it should
I can open messenger app through Facebook and in app launcher but I can't open conversations then the app crashes.
I have tried clearing cash, reinstall, erase data, but nothing helps.
The only way I can access the conversations Is to open messenger, long press conversation then chat bubbles.
Please help someone!
If I'm in the wrong thread op please move thread!
Why not simply use messenger and use it for sending messages instead of using the Facebook one?
This happens probably because of the fact that Facebook in the last few updates doesn't use the messenger app, it uses the built in messenger.
It is the built in messenger app I mean!
It opens ok but when I try to open a conversation rhe app crashes!

Welp, I can't really help you, since I haven't faced anything like that. I can only suggest using the messenger app
It's not an existenz's rom problem but a general one. I faced this issue on another phone too buddy. I also took a look into the ratings and reviews of the messenger's app and other users report the same issue. I had no problem with the previous version of the messenger app. Clearing the data won't help neither.
So the only thing to do is to wait the new messenger's version
