I just used Matt's utility to sbf and clean install .181 (same version I was on previously).
Once completed, the phone booted to the M logo, showed Andy with a cereal box, installed a package (status bar filled with orange), then rebooted and won't proceed past M logo.
I force shutdown and go into recovery, and select Wipe Cache - and the phone does nothing.
Any ideas?
I then thought it may be the download, so I downloaded the SBF and used RSD lite and tried again... no luck.
Any help is appreciated.. I'm really stumped here.
*Update*
So after re-flashing 8 times, I've been able to at least get to the "welcome" screen to begin android setup.. I am then greeted with the following errors:
"The application IMSCServer (process com.motorola.android.server.ims) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
"The process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
"The application Smart Actions (process com.motorola.contextual.smartrules) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I'm sure there are more stacked underneath, but every time I hit force close, a new one pops up or repeats itself... It appears to be flashing incorrectly every time I fastboot which is causing the errors... I've been able to clear the cache and data/factory reset in recovery, but the errors won't go away.
After fiddling with the force closes for about 2 minutes after the phone boots, it freezes.
Anyone have any ideas on a an alternative way to ensure a clean flash?
Anyone have any ideas?? I dont think it's bricked as I can get to the set up screen - it just keeps freezing whenever I fastboot restore or use the utility.
Well, I've managed to install Bootstrap and get into it - now I'm just unclear what to do from here.. The ROM flash seems bad - while the phone was loading before freezing, it came up with a message box that said 'Storage is Full'. It definitely appears as if it's not wiping clean when SBF'ing.
I will continue to document my experiences if anyone could assist and jump in.

anyone have directions on doing this?....i tried installing htchome-2.1.cab and restarted but it froze my screen and wont let me connect to activesync so i am reflashing as i type this.....any help would be appreciated please
I tried it also (twice) and basically had the same thing happen to me also. Once it resets it tries to go to the Today screen; then my ActiveSync screen pops up, I get an error message from Voice Command, and then the phone hangs.
I use iLauncher and it has a 'safe boot mode' so I used that to uninstall the HTC stuff. Once I did that the phone worked fine again. Otherwise I would have had to do a hard reset
Chimp (Tom)
I installed GingerBlur v4.5. The first time I get boot loop. But with no reason, the problem was gone away after 12-16 hrs boot loop. I installed Gladiatrix after Gingerblur, everything seems fine. However, after I installed again the GingerBlur v4.5, new issue comes up. I get into "force close loop" with message of "Voice Commands (process com.nuance.android.vsuitr.vsuiteapp) has stopped unexpectedly." No matter, how many times I press "Force Close" button, the message come back again, again and again.
I tried to reset data in Android Recovery Mode many times. However, the issue come back again.
I also tried RSD Lite with 1.2.6 and 1.83. but no luck again fail every times.
Please help!

"Encryption unsuccsesfull
encryption interupted and can't complete. As a result the data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone, you must preform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have the opportunity to restore any data that was baked up to your google account." and a button of "Reset phone" below it.
Tried to do factory reset and to reflash the system but this massage keps appearing with nothing I can do.

Hello,
I have a big problem with the I9300 from my mother-of-law.
Her Galaxy is neither modified, nor rooted or anything. So it's stilll stock.
Now her I9300 won't boot correctly anymore.
When she starts it, it lasts much longer than normal to boot. When unlocking, an error message pops up immediately "Application Installer stopped" (angehalten), when clicking ok, it comes another time then it reboots completely.
When going into "Android system recovery" and wiping data/factory reset, there still comes an error message when I reboot (error) and the same procedure appears.
> It lasts a long time to boot > after unlocking the error message appears (Application installer stopped and it reboots immediately).
Does anyone have an idea what the issue might be and what I could do?
Flash a new Rom?
(P.S. sometimes it doesn't start at all an just shuts down and the battery is empty - even though it was still 77%).
Edit:
Sorry, I made a data / f factory reset another time and now it finally seems to work, unfortunately with all datas erased..
You should flash newest firmware for your country via Odin and it should work correctly
Good Morning Everybody, Hope you are doing fine during those difficult times.
I have an LG L5 II which a friend gave me when he bought a new phone. The phone wasn't fully functional and i did get the message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" when trying to enter phone settings.
ecause of that reason, I have tried to do a hard reset procedure, by turning off the phone and then holding volume down button, quick button and power button until the LG logo appeared on the screen.
Unfortunately, on the "Welcome to startup Wizard" screen, when tapping on "next" i get the same error message: "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped".
Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Is there a workaround to totally reinstall android on the phone, maybe via a computer?
Thanks for your kind support
Good Evening guys, I was able to solve the problem as follows:
1. Download & Install the "LG mobile support tool" software from LG website.
2. Within the software, select the driver for your device and install it.
3. Put the phone in "download mode "as kindly suggested by xTPTBx in the following thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108652.
4. Accept some "privacy settings" (in my case i had to rotate screen view vertically in windows because i wasn't able to see the "verify" button).
5. LG will ask you to reinstall drivers (don't do that, otherwise it will mess up with the drivers you did already install).
6. In the top left corner of the software window, you should be able to see your phone model. If that is the case, you will be able to do an upgrade recovery by following the guided procedure.
I am glad that I was able to recover a phone that otherwise would have been uselessely thrown away.
Thank you guys for the precious support and the detailed documentation of this forum.:good:
