This Question's been bothering since a while

Can I run two versions of the same app on one phone?
Sent from my ZTE Blade using xda premium
No that's not possible.

What's the reason though?

I would think it would have to do with the app it self. For instance on windows I know if you change the extension on some files you can run duplicates. I think because you can't change that ( or know of a way) you can't run multiple applications.
Only very few apps can do this, such as OverSkreen (Floating Browser).

You can have two versions of the same app installed as long as the installed apks have different names but I don't think you can have both version running simultaneously.
I remember after installing an app update I downloaded from this forum having both the original and the updated apps on my phone though only the original version showed up in the app drawer. I had to manually uninstall the older version.

[Q] Polaris Office on Razr/Lapdock

Is there a way to install polaris office from my transformer prime onto my RAZR. I would like to use it with the lapdock.
Maybe, if both are root(ed)
It could work, although I'd be curious as to why...
1. Both must be rooted
2. Copy the apk file from your Transformer to a SD (must be rooted so you find the correct file within the OS)
3. put the SD on your RAZR and try to install it
The caveats: I've done a similar thing in the past, with other apps. Some cases worked, some didn't (as the app was locked to that particular device somehow).
Cheers.
The Polaris app is already uploaded here on xda search for it

If it's a system application then you can find it if your device is rooted ..

Edward Cullen, no offense but that was a n00b statement. If he installed it by himself it cannot be a system application. Also, the file of any app (even user app) is available in /data/app
AND, rooted or not, the app Explorer by Speed Software allows you access to those system files. Only difference is that you cannot write, but you can find the file and COPY (not move) to /sdcard.

How to attach files using Browser

Hi Guys,
I use a website where I have to attach file using browser (i.e. I can't use Email app or any other). I can only use Browser to send files but default android browser shows me only three type of files; Audio, Picture, and Video Files but the files I have to send is like .doc , .xls , .ppt ... so, what's the solution for this issue? I have Root Explorer installed, but the option is not there so that I could chose specific file to attach.
I tried Dolphin Browser to attach files as well but no help!
I look forward to hearing from someone.
Thanks!
Is my query so hard no one is replying...

You might need some sort of office suite. I am using office suite pro, which is not free. If I am not wrong, only the Gmail and email app allows you to attach ppt and docs.

Use opera mini/mobile. It has a built on browser that can let you upload anything form sd. Or install something like ES File Explorer. It should work!

Polaris office missing

Can't actually find Polaris office in the app drawer, but it is in system/apps and in manage apps. Any ideas? I am stock, no unlocked bootloader yet, no root.

Mine was too. Try quickshortcutmaker from the play store. It will allow you to create app shortcuts for installed apps.
