Quickest most up to date way to unroot? Thanks. - HTC EVO 3D

I got a new phone and gonna give my 3d to my younger brother but i'm rooted and need to update the profile so that the numbers can be transferred. Can someone give me a hand to unroot or just point me in the right direction. Thanks guys.

If all you need to do is update the profile, you could flash a Rom that allows it, such as a GB Rom.
To unroot, you just need to relock the bootloader and then run an ruu.exe for your carrier and region. This will put your phone back to stock.

I am effing lost!!!

Ok, I have searched and their is so much info, and I am lost when it comes to tech (for the most part)....
I want to install cons rom with the ota.... so to do that...
do I need to relock?
If so how is it done? Do I have to use command prompts, because I have ZERO idea of how to use that, AND I MEAN ZERO....!!!!
Whats the process to re unlock, the same as the original unlock?
THen I re one click root correct?
If not, do I just put it on the root of the sd, change name to ph98img and flash (of course after making a nandroid)?
Thanks for the help people! I appreciate it.

First off, what is your current status, like ROM, root, and bloat?
Make sure you have installed OTA RootKeeper. OTA RootKeeper has been confirmed to backup superuser and is a simple way of restoring superuser after an OTA update.
You do not need to re-lock anything. I would suggest that you back up whatever you want to keep, in your own prefered method. Unfreeze or reinstall all bloat. I went from Stock and unlocked through HTC-dev through the OTA update, without losing anything except root. I did not have the OTA RootKeeper installed, and it would have saved me a lot of trouble if I had, but I have since regained root. You should be fine, but always take the necessary precautions. Back everything up before the OTA, after OTA, and after flashing the new ROM. This will give you three points to nandroid, and ensure you always have what you want.

Need help, going back to stock

Hey guys,
I seriously need some help, reverting my international HOX+ back to stock, as I am going to sell it.
My main problem is, that i have an o2 germany one, for that it seems to be impossible to get any suitable RUU
I am able to unlock / relock the bootloader, flash custom or stock recovery, flash any custom rom... not a problem.
But I'm stuck with the order of the steps! When I flash a stock rom (1.17.401.xx), my next step should be flashing stock recovery and then relock bootloader, right? I did so and got a security warning at bootloader and it seems, that there is no rom left on the phone.
How do I trick this, to relock, use stock rec. and stock rom?
Thanks for any help!!!
AW: Need help, going back to stock
you need the correct RUU for O2 brandings
yep. any news, where to get it?
thought, there might be a workaround...
I think there is no ruu atm.
I'll have a look for it.
AW: Need help, going back to stock
That would be very nice!

The only o2 ruu is this one:
http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_3.1204.167.31_release_289474_signed.exe
Based on your informations, you need a ruu for a german phone.
It doesn't matter that there is "UK" in the name.
The United Kingdoms are in europe, like germany.
Give it a try and tell me if it has worked or not.
If it doesn't work, open your Bootloader and flash an custom recovery/kernel/rom and wait until there's a dumped o2 ruu.

1.Go into the bootloader and make sure your phone is connected to your computer.
2.Relock your bootloader, using the cmd (Windows) or the terminal (Linux).
3.You make it with "fastboot oem lock".
4.Run the "ruu.exe" as administrator and let it work.
5.Drink a coffee and wait until it's done.
AW: Need help, going back to stock
Ok, many thanks for that!
I already tried that ruu, but maybe my fault was, I did not lock the bootloader, before.
Will try that, later this evening and give feedback

what about running ruu, extracting rom.zip and flashing this one? ruu could be 1.17.401 for example!?
will this work or result in a brick? is this method still possible on one x series? my evo 3d provided this while using a zip named to pc86img.zip (or very similar :cyclops
edit: if possible, will the phone check cid in the zip?
pretty much same here, except I am on O2 UK, and a higher version than the RUU available so it doesn't work, so frustrating, just want to go back to stock
alternate method would be: flashing a nandroid backup of a stock rom.
problem: don't own one
Is anybody out there, who can provide me a full backup of rom 1.17.207.xx with cid 02___102 o2 germany?
that would save my weekend, guys!
Hi.
I have the same problem but am on o2_UK i cant get back to stock.Doesn't mater whatever RUU i try is the same.
I have 1.17.401.1 cid02__001 and really badly need to go on stock ROM
Any help would be great.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Unroot TELUS HTC One HELP!!

I have a rooted HTC One from Telus.
I know you cannot OTA update the phone when its rooted it keeps giving an error during the update.
I want to unroot and return to stock.
I found found a Nandroid backup for TELUS as the RUU is not available.
Can someone please help with steps on how to restore the device so I can do the carrier updates on the device.... I don't care about the tamper stuff...
I know Telus will be releasing the KIT KAT update shortly and I want to do the carrier update.
Please help!!!
I am really sorry if this has already been discussed in a thread but I have searched high and low and I can't find any clear information for the Telus device.
Please if we can keep this just to the TELUS variant I will really appreciate it as I see so many threads go sideways!
Thank you for any help anyone can shed!!
CMD line is just fastboot oem lock. If you are looking at Nandroids, I am guessing you have installed custom recovery, maybe a custom ROM? If not, re-locking will give OTA updates, I am pretty sure of. I also think that the AIO toolkit works on TELUS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942. Worth a shot. Maybe someone else who has tried can chime in.
Hey Thanks for the reply I actually figured it out... long process but easy...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383992&page=6
I left out a few steps listed in the original thread... worked like a charm.. i didn't care for the tamper .. I left S off and was able to do all of the OTAs..... if anyone else needing help this is what I did... if not refer to the original thread to reset the tamper and re-lock....
1. changed CID back to ATT (CWS__001)
2. re-ran ATT RUU
3. changed CID back to TELUS001
4. booted TWRP
5. ran a simple backup so I could know the correct location to copy the TWRP stock nandroid
6. booted the phone
7. copied the stock twrp nandroid to the right location ( /TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXX/...
8. booted twrp
9. restored backup

[Q] Repaired phone, any precautions?

Hi all,
I sent my phone into repairs because of the camera sensor and just received it last night. Before I sent it I put everything back to stock, Locked, unroot, S-On. It came back with the latest ATT 4.4.2 FW. My question is, can I unlock, root, S-Off normally? Can I use this toolkit?
If you need any more information about the phone it'll have to wait until after work since it's not with me. I just want to make sure I don't break it before I dive into rooting it again.
Thanks for all your help!

that toolkit will leave you with a phone ready for April 2013
all the root and recovery files in it are 16 months old and useless
Do some reading and learn to use adb and fastboot it's not that difficult.

Upgrading Phone. Need to restore to stock.

I'm finally taking the plunge and upgrading my note 2. I'm currently on Wilson's cm12.1. I'm looking for a guide or recommendations to restore my phone to 100%stock. I know there's already some guides out there but none seem to be updated or explain how to downgrade from where I am at now with cm12.1. Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Odin back to VRAMC3 firmware which will re-lock the bootloader. You may want to re-unlock since it is getting rare these days and people might want it unlocked. Probably don't want to take an OTA of any kind regardless.. bootloader will get locked permanently.
Remember DO NOT TAKE AN OTA EVER!
