[Q] Looking for CWM friendly stock rom to flash - Motorola Droid RAZR

I have a bad flash on my phone and I'm trying to find a file which I can flash through Clockwork Mod Recovery to see if I can fix it?
I'm currently on 2.3.6, the .181 version. When loading up, My phone has all kinds of processes being killed (Force close errors) until it eventually freezes.. I've tried matts razr utility and rsd lite, but every time i wipe and reflash, it does the same thing.
Anyone know of a CWM friendly file I can try and flash? I don't believe its bricked, but i can't figure out why the clean installs keep coming up corrupt with errors.
Appreciate any help.

[Q] Issues with CWR

I am new to modding my vibrant (phone is rooted but that's all) but looking to flash a new ROM. I dl'd rom manager and installed cwr. When I reboot into recovery mode via rommanager or manually doing it,I do not get the prompt to backup. Only options I get are to reboot system, reinstall packages, delete all user data, delete cache data, and format internal sd-card. Anyone know how to fix this? I just updated to 2.2 froyo UVKB5 kernel 2.6.32.9 if that helps.
looks like you have stock recovery.
try reinstall packages, might take a couple times..
or install CWM via replacing update.zip
What he said, yeah.
So just delete the current update.zip file on my phone and replace it with a new one? Any links to download the update.zip file?
Sometimes you have to Reinstall Packages twice for it to go from regular recovery to CWR. If you flash a custom ROM though, most have a custom recovery built in.
If you have to replace the update.zip (which I don't think that you do), this worked for me the first time I rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
How to Root.
I am rooted, but I want to back everything up so that way if I do not like the new custom rom I can go back. I tried reinstalling the update.zip file from the link but s till have the same issue. Any other solutions besides going back to stock and going from there? And if I did go back to stock, would I lose everything?
I backed up using Titanium Backup, is that the same as going into recovery mode and backing up?
Re-download recovery using ROM Manager, then repeat. Worked when I had a similar issue.
Tried that several times. I also reuploaded the update file and reinstalled the package several times. Still no luck so I think I might go back to stock using Odin.
Then DL Eugenes froyo don't brick ROM with the 2e recovery update in it, then re-install packages, maybe twice and you'll have the green recovery menu your seeking
Googled Eugene's DL and I do not feel to confident with it. Is it supposed to fix the issue with getting into recovery mode?
So I went back to stock last night using Odin, upgraded to 2.2, and rooted using Superoneclick. Phone's back up and running but faster than the first time I upgraded to 2.2. I still have the issue getting into the proper recover to install the zip file. I've read that deleting Slacker helped some people, assuming it freed up space on the System ROM. My system ROM was full until I started to delete some apps. I now have 20.7 MB free. Could not enough System ROM space be the issue?
I am now also getting a "Fail" attempt when I try and update su saying that it failed to find currently installed su binary. Any advice on fixing this?
TIA!!!
it would probably be easier to just odin back to stock jfd and then flash a deodexed kb5 build thats rooted with SU already in it from here in the forums.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036193&highlight=deodexed
If you flashed kb5 from kies or odin and don't want to reinstall the rom then you will need to flash a modified 3e recovery because you probably are not quite rooted and won't be able to use CWM until you flash the modified 3e recovery...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423
You might want to check out the AIO vibrant toolbox (pinned topic in the development thread) it will give you big easy buttons and instructions to flash back to jfd and root and flash a new rom if you need to... It comes with Odin so you can wander into the install folder and fire up Odin to flash the modified 3e recovery if you decide to go that route too.
If I flash a deodexed kb5 will i still be able to flash a custom rom?

[q] *******help me please*******

Ok so i had ICS passion installed then one day the rom gave me an error telling me encryption unsuccessful. So i followed the instructions to fix it, by putting the partition on the micro sd card (8gb). I then decided to flash back to stock gingerbread with odin. I thought that if I put a galaxy s international rom on the US vibrant it would work, but i was wrong so dont try that. I was stuck on a bootloop and was able to get to download mode. Then i used Odin to flash JFD for vibrant it said i passed but when i booted it did the same. Now im on KB5 and it gave me android system recovery <3e> but i have an error dev/block/mmcblk0p1.
I cannot go to menu, i can access download mode and android system recovery, i also tried to install update zip but it gave me the signature fail.
Please help me back to stock firmware or any stable version. Thank You
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278683 follow the instructions in the thread and remember to flash the bootloaders
You should just Odin back to JFD and go from there. Flashing bootloaders is dangerous, shouldn't be done lightly, but can be done with caution if needed, usually isn't.
try the 1click root method. see if that helps.

[Q] Bricked... flashing stock rom doesn't work

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've tried searching the forums and using different methods to recover it, but none have worked so far.
SO I flashed the ICS Domination theme over Diet ICS rom, stuff was continuously force closing, so I factory wiped with the intention of re-flashing just the rom... after a reset the phone was stuck on the samsung boot screen.
I've tried using Odin to load the stock Rogers rom, it says it worked, but trying to boot the phone up its stuck on the samsung boot screen.
Am I missing something? Is there anything you guys can suggest I try??
use ODIN to flash a new recovery.img and restore from a nandroid
I didn't make a nandroid backup (i know, retarded), where can I get one and how can I push it to my internal memory considering the phone won't start up and I can't flash from external SD

[Q] Moto quad core screen freeze

Phone: Atrix 4g, 4.5.141 ATT, Andriod Version: 2.3.6 Kernal 2.6.32.9, Unlocked, rooted, in USA running ROM manager, titanium backup pro, and ROMRACER. I have run Moto stock with updates until now.
Lurked here forever, haven't had to post until now. Since Moto has end of serviced the atrix I figure I would try my hand at CM7 and maybe CM10 once the big boys get all the drivers working.
I am trying to flash CM7 and I keep getting stuck when re-booting at Red Moto emblem with the quad core screen. I have left it run for 30 minutes. The only way out is to pull battery re-boot to CWM and re-flash ATT.GB236_45141_PureStock_v21.5_xanadu_upndwn4par and start again. I can back up upndwn4's ROM while it's running with ROMRACER, but I can't restore it. I get a system error from CWM when I try to re-flash it.
Tried:
Reset/Wipe cache/wipe davilik every time
multiple different ROMs including Ba2tF, CM-10-20121010-unofficial-olympus, MROM all downloaded a couple of times
Tenfar's CWM instead of ROMRACER
Flashing off of internal
Flashing off of external
When I flash the CM7 or CM10 ROM it takes about a minute to flash before CWM says it's completed. But when I flash back to stock it takes 4-6 min. to flash.
Can't figure out why I can't flash anything other than the stock ROM. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Lol. Quad core screen? You have a powerful atrix!
Anyways, try a fastboot erase system and fastboot erase userdata before flashing CM7/10.

Yep my dual core is gonna become a quad if I can't figure this out.
Tried fastboot erase system and userdata, then restore/wipe/wipe install from SD (internal)...nope, sitting here looking at the same dang M
Thanks for the suggestion...got any more?
i have exactly the same problem with my atrix, i have 4.5.141 ATT en.US with android 2.3.6 NottachTrix 1.3.1 (this is the only custom rom that works after flash) i want to install cm9 or jb so baddd !! i hope someone know how to get this over :-/
Don't forget, you need to clear userdata (fastboot -w) AND cache (fastboot erase cache). You could also do that through recovery. I recommend TWRP 2.3.0.0. You can install it via Goo Manager or download the image from here and install it via fastboot (fastboot erase recovery and then fastboot flash recovery #filename#.img)
Haven't tried TWRP yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that next.
Ok some sucess. Re-flashed based on the 5th post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525804&highlight=moto-fastboot+stock except for the OEM part because I am all ready unlocked.
Rooted again using auto unlock 4.2 instead of Pete's tools because the link was dead.
Updated recovery to touch recovery 5.8.1.8
Made another backup existing functioning stock ROM
Tried to flash a new Faux123 CM7 Kernel downloaded from ROM manager - fail when to boot loop re-booting constantly
Recovery to CWM and restored from backup WORKING NOW yippie! At least I can recover without having to re-flash stock each time
Downloaded MIUI 2.10.12 from ROM Manager and installed....error in downloaded Miui ROM (status 7) installation aborted.
Rebooting...will restore again if necessary...sigh more research ahead of me a fear.
I win
Big thanks to vladeco,. Since fastboot -w and fastboot erase worked so well getting ROM Manager to restore it tried them again before flashing CM7. Done and done.
Now I have backups of Stock, CM7 and am moving on to CM10 epinter's.
Flashed Epinter's CM10 - now running chrome, no isses heck even the video camcorder works!
Done and DONE!

[Q] Please help me restore to stock, RSDlite says check input file?

I have just received a used droid razr (GSM)
I was following this guide to install the JB OTA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021
When i received the phone it appeared to already be rooted.
I've backed up the CID but after erasing the CID and flashing the boot_jb image my phone just goes into safestrap recovery ( i was not aware this was installed as i did not install it!)
I am now trying to revert to standard stock ICS so i can start again but RSDLITE is saying 'please check input file. eithe XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing'
SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.6_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml
So now im stuck with a phone that shows the CID error and all i can do is get into safestrap?

AW: [Q] Please help me restore to stock, RSDlite says check input file?
I would recommend to try it with RSD 6.1.4 and extract the FW again.

many thanks for the reply.
I seem to be back in business! I got it to work with 5.7. It would say flash fail each time but on my 10th try it started working and has now booted!
Thanks again

One thing...If you wanna start from scratch to install the JB Leak on your Phone, use BMM 0.3.2 instead of 0.2.7. Set 2nd-init & insecure adb in Slot Settings and don't mount System & Data!
Just wipe and flash the Leak. With BMM 0.3.2 you don't have to boot with BPTools all the time (if 2nd-init is enabled) and you can easily flash the Kernel (ICS<>JB) straight in the Recovery

Many thanks for the help guys!
I've now managed to install the JB OTA and its booting so hopefully its ok now!
I've been away from the flashing scene since my galaxy S2 died and just got this razr for use in the car as a media/navigation device so some of the different processes/terms have thrown me a bit!
