[Q] Flashing CSC, from different android version - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so as the title states. i have ICS 4.0.4 for my I9100G but i would like to try a different CSC. there are only 2 available at the moment, Chinese and German. i dont exactly like the German one. so i was wondering if it is going to do any harm to flash a CSC from an android version 4.0.3?
currently i am in the process of extracting different CSC's for my phone from SamMobile

[Q] Changing from DXKL1 to XWKK5

I'm new in the Android world, so i have some questions... sorry for that
my Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 is with 2.3.6 DXKL3 (Asian one) and i want to know if i can change its firmware to the xwkk5... and if i can do so, which languages does it support and what are the differences? i live in Brasil and bought the galaxy in Singapore.
You can flash whatever I9100 firmware you want on to your I9100. Region doesn't matter unless you're wanting to get updates via Kies. So far as languages are concerned, probably the same languages as any other stock firmware.
Try it & find out.

[Q] Can flash other ROM on SG version SG2?

Dear members here,
Can i just ask or know if its ok or advisable to flash other region ROM (eg XWLP7)on my SG2 as i am from singapore and baseband version is DXLP9 (ICS) or DXKL3 (GB).
Thanks.
Yes, you can flash a stock rom for another region. You more than likely won't be able to get OTA firmware updates tho if you do. You'd need to re-flash stock firmware for your region in order for those to work again. And even if you do, some people still end up having problems getting OTA firmware updates once they've done so. Which isn't a massive problem as it's easy enough to flash firmware updates for your region via Odin (many people on XDA have done this).
Also, make sure to use a firmware for a model suitable for your phone.
I9100G can only use i9100G firmwares and kernels...
I9100, I9100P, and I9100T can all use each others' firmwares and kernels.
Thanks for all the advise.. i have loaded a baseband of NELP3 and its amazing...

[Q] Flashing Galaxy S2 to ORO

Hi, I live in Romania and after I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 I had the unpleasant surprise to see the phone has a Italian firmware (3Mobile.it - ICS 4.0.3) and CSC - HUI. The phone is unlocked and my Orange SIM works fine but can't change the CSC code .. only HUI is available. The question is if I want to flash the phone with an ORO - Orange firmware witch has ICS 4.0.4 will I encounter problems afterwards? Will the phone be locked on Orange?
You can flash firmware for any region you like. However, you may not be able to get OTA updates when they're released for your region anymore due to the different CSC. Simple solution to that is to flash future updates manually with Odin like many people here do anyways (you can always get the latest firmwares for country/carrier with Checkfus).

[Q] Debranding & 4.3 update (Ireland)

Hi Folks,
I have a question regarding debranding / updating my S3 (4.1.2)
This is all new to me and with the wealth of information here and elsewhere online I'm a little unsure about the correct files to use.
My S3 was originally on O2 Ireland and it has been unlocked so I can use it on Vodafone Ireland.
The phone is on 4.1.2 and Kies and OTA firmware update both state I have the latest firmware.
So now curiosity has gotten the better of me and I want to manually update to 4.3, and while I'm at it, I want to debrand and just have a stock firmware.
Reading online says the Switzerland firmware is stock and bloatware free.
These are the details...
PDA: I9300XXUGNA5
CSC: I9300AUTGNA1
MODEM: I9300XXUGMK6
If I flash with these, is that all I need to do to debrand and have the latest firmware?
There is a 4.3 Vodafone firmware on Sammobile so I suppose I could use that if the Swiss one didn't work.
As a noob to flashing, ROMS, Odin etc etc I appreciate any advide or guidance.
Thanks
Ciaran
No stock rom is debloated, they all have tons of Samsung rubbish included.
Any firmware for the i9300 will work, just make sure the included modem will work in your country. Usually anything European is fine but you may lose OTA due to wrong CSC.
Current phone details are...
AP : I9300XXELLA
CP : I9300XXELLA
CSC : I9300O2IELL1
Hoping for some more advice!
How do I know if the csc is correct?
This is the Vodafone Ireland file,
I9300XXUGNA5_I9300VFGGNB1_VDI
and the (more generic?) Swiss file,
I9300XXUGNA5_I9300AUTGNA1_AUT
I know the Swiss file won't have any branding, but don't know if the modem and csc settings are correct.
The Vodafone one on the otherhand will have the correct settings but lots of VF bloatware and branding.

Flash a different Region

I know the question has been here before, but i dont seem to find a answer on my specific question:
I'm the Owner of a Galaxy S9+ - It's a "NEE" region
I want to flash the German (DBT) region firmware. Will this mess up the phones KNOX? It's official firmware from Sammy
Flashing a different region firmware, will this mess up the "modem" regarding the bands and etc.? I live in Denmark
I wish you all to have a great day out there
You can flash dbt version with no problem! Knox will not be affected and your csc will be nee !!!
