How can I find the Verizon APN settings? The apps I have seen don't work under ICS and my phone is not rooted (yet). I am not sure, but I think if I install a global ROM to allow me to buy a local sim in another country, I will need to re-enter the Verizon APN settings before I can use my phone in the US again. If I have this wrong, comments will be appreciated.
The Verizon APN is non-removable if you aren't rooted. You can add a custom APN to use in another country, but disable it or remove it and the Verizon APN will come back.

I cannot modify and /or delete the APN of my unlocked tmobile LG L9 P769 10G. Now I can only make phone calls and text messaging; I cannot access data from my carrier. Does anyone have the same issue? How to fix this?
PS, P769 10G is still hard to root...
On my phone I had a default APN that I was not able to modify. However, I could add a new APN. Have you tried that? Who is your carrier?

My carrier is Straight Talk (AT&T). I can add a new APN, but I cannot activate the new APN. As a matter of fact, after I put the Straight Talk sim card in, there are three APN by default: ATT Phone, ATT WAP and ATT Broadband, but only ATT Phone can be chosen and none of them can be modified.

I'm not sure what else to tell you. I assume you are using the instructions from the following: http://straighttalksim.com/support-data.php
Mine uses AT&T as well and does show the defaults that ATT wants to use. However, I was able to add a new APN and then set it by hitting the radio button.
Have you tried restarting the phone after adding the APN?
Are you root?
I wonder if he tried my tethering hack and forgot that he made /system/etc/apns-conf.xml immutable.
If so all you need to do is run this command as root:
`chattr -i /system/etc/apns-conf.xml`
Then reboot just to be safe.

Is the phone itself activated on vzw? If not it won't work on vzw, even with an active vzw sim.

This isn't really a problem. It's just a question out of curiosity...aimed at the guys who tear down ROMs on a regular basis, or whoever else might know.
Okay so here's my scenario. I have a Verizon Note 2 which I use here in the Caribbean on a GSM network. Most of the time I use ATT or N7105 roms (without the ATT/n7105 modems of course) since I'm using a GSM network.
Whenever I use ATT/N7105 roms, my phone automatically retrieves APN settings for internet and mms from my carrier.
When I use Verizon ROMs like I am right now, I never receive these APN and MMS settings automatically.
I know my APN settings but it's convenient having it retrieved automatically when I switch sim cards.
What part of the ROM is it that allows this to happen when I'm using ATT roms?
Is it something in the build.prop that I'm missing? CSC settings or something else?

Well for the 1% that might be interested I figured out the answer. It turns out the ATT and N7105 roms apn-conf.xml file had my carrier's apn/mms settings.
So just replacing that file in my Verizon rom got my settings added automatically.
Hey there,
So I called sprint and told them I need them to unlock my phone for international travel and they did. I tested it with AT&T and it worked for phone connections but not for data. Any idea how to make ATT data connection to work?
APN settings?
So I need to enter specific APN settings for each sim card/carrier I use?
Depends on provider. On ting.com I did, now on byowireless it just works. Both resell T-Mobile.
Google for your carrier's apns settings, and add them.
Hey Guys I bought a unlocked tmobile v10 on swappa that I wanna use on metropcs. I'm currently on verizon and will be moving to metropcs. I ordered my sim card yesterday. Will I have any trouble activating my sim in the v10? When I type in my phone on the list on metropcs it doesnt list it as compatible but I know it will be. Ive heard metropcs sims are linked to the imei on the phone and only that phone. So I have to reactivate any time I swap my sim in and out of different phones.
Also will I need to change any APN settings for metropcs or does it use all the same bands as tmobile does?
Thanks Guys Cheers!:highfive:
The APN settings will be locked when you get the phone, so you'll need to go into the dialer, dial 277634#*#, find "APN Unlock", click that then select the unlock option. Reboot your phone, then add your MetroPCS APN settings

Since MetroPCS is on T-Mobile's network, it's possible you won't even need to change your APN settings. If you do I imagine they'd have them on their website, but I've never used their service
