Hey Guys
Bit of a noob here. I got two questions.
Ive just flashed VR3 but the tweaks are scarce is there a way to add more tweaks to VRtweaks?
Second Ive got Rom manager (awsome product) but I cant seem to flash cyanogenmod 7. When i direct Rom Managee to install cyannogenmod from sd it gives me the 3 options 'back up current rom' and so on and asks to boot into recovery and when i press OK nothing happens
Please help!!!

Thank you but when i go into cwm and i navigate to the sd card and select it nothing happens maybe there is a problem with my sd card

Sd card as instructed or external sd card ???
Is CWM 3e or the required 4
jje
If flashing from cwm remember to flash it twice as per instructions from cm7 thread.
I went from villain to cm7 with no issues. Currently testing it and so far its very decent and fast!

NO 4e = Clockwork mod required to flash custom roms .
Guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125282
Clockworkmod is a 'custom recovery' made by xda member koush. Every phone had a recovery partition designed so that if the user messes up a ROM installation, they can recover their phone. CWM is a modified recovery installed into the recovery partition that allows advanced control over ROM recovery, installation and much more.
Features of CWM include:
- NANDroid Backup, This allows you to completely back up your existing ROM with all its files, data and apps
- Restore Backup, Restores a previous backup (obviously...)
- ROM installation, Allows you to install a ROM contained inside a flashable .zip file
- Wipe data/Factory reset, completely erases all of your data contacts, apps etc, leaving your phone 'as new'
Amongst others...
Thanks guys you have been a major help, I got cyanogenmod working and for me personly it KICKS VILLAINS ASS

Use ROM manager only for updating CM7 version once you're using CM7. WHen you flash an AOSP ROM for the first time it is better to do it manually via CWM with a full wipe.
i got a rooted phone. how do i remove a kernel from my phone without flashing another rom?
Flash another kernel.
why do you remove kernel??
if you remove it must be brick.
You mean "change" kernel??

well, i want to install the unity v9 kernel on my rooted phone running virtuous unity. in case something goes wrong with this kernel, i want to be able to remove it. but since you say you can only change it, how can i revert back (or change) to the kernel i had previously on my rom?
Make a nandroid backup so if you want to revert to your previous setup just restore the backup. You could also download the original kernel that came with your rom so you can flash back.

What are you wanting to adjust? The only way to adjust a kernel is ti do it when its compiled from source code.
You cant remove a Kernel. You can ONLY change it.
Make a nandroid backup of your current kernel and flash a new kernel. If anything goes wrong just revert it.

If i remove my kernel how work my arc s ?
Flashing the rom over itself (without wiping data) will keep your user apps intact and restore the kernel that came with the rom.
In the future it's a good idea to do a backup any time you flash a new rom or kernel. You can always delete old backups to save space.

If you're talking about overclocking, undervolting, governors, etc. read the Unity v9 Kernel thread. I also recommend reading droidphile's excellent cpu tweaking faq/tutorial:

Take the ROM you originally downloaded and use 7zip to extract the contents. Inside here you should find the kernel (boot.img) but not always in .img format so if you don't see it let me know.
Then use fastboot to flash this kernel to your phone, more info on that here

cant i flash that PA kernel in CWM recovery?
Sure if there is a recovery flashable .zip out there, you'll have to search for one or create your own. If you search my other threads i have one on creating flashable .zips but it will be more work than just flashing in fastboot.
Let me know if you need a hand either way

Hello,
I was on the Neutrino 2.8GT and everything works fine,
then i saw the 2.9, and of cores installed it, the first boot was successfully, but then i saw that i forget to install the Sync zip,
so i returned to the Recovery and installed the Sync zip and the Theme chooser zip, then i restarted my phone and now i stuck on the
boot loop.
i tried to enter to the recovery, but when i select the Android Recovery I am just getting the Black screen and nothing happens,
what should I do ?
maybe install the SBF file, if so is someone have a link that actually works ?
thank you.
Theme Chooser hasn't been added yet. Some ported it but its not a guarantee.

BTW just try the EE version and see if it boots fine...
if it does then th GT version might bootloop because overclocking
I read you were on 2.8 GT but still try the EE version to be sure that overclocking is not the issue
This happened to me too. Had to reinstall recovery using fastboot. Back on cm7 for now.
Hi there...

Isn't it the same as with the HTC... just download the rom and "instal from zip" when phone is booted in recovery mode ?

Metod is the same on all android phones with cwm.

For a good, stable and fast rom you could try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334 and choose 2.2.0 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656. Both roms` s are good. Choose for yourself . Look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1566for for all rom`s.
I am sorry but i do not have any experience with cwm based phones. My HTC was fully clockwork modded. But the options when booted in recovery are the same...so i asume it Works the same ??

CWM is short for 'Clockwork Mod'
So they not only look the same but (except for potential device-specific features) ARE the same =)

if you do, I think it may also wipe your sd card so you need to have the Rom on the external sd card, and have the internal one backed up on pc
Most ROM downloads in zip format should flash through cwm and most tar through Odin, however, as previously stated, read installation instructions to be sure.
You also may want to checkout the TWRP recovery, much more efficient IMO

boot into CWM recovery. wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. apply zip from sdcard. choose zip and installing..then again choose zip from sdcard and select gapps.zip. is this the procedure you are following? I do the same everytime and faced no problems till now. you ahould have the gapps.zip of the respective rom you flash prior to it.

booted into CWR
cleared the 3 catches
installed CM10.1
install Gapps
cleared 3 catchs again
....zero Gapps

that is a .tar file buddy. You can't flash it thriugh recovery. you have to put your mobile into download mode , connect to pc via uab. start desktop odin, select pda and then CWMtouch.tar file and hit start. then once you see the pass, it is done.
