[Q] Locked out of my phone. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My kid managed to lock me out of my phone by too many retries on pattern.
Account details are not accepted, wifi and data are off and no way to turn it on.
How can i get access without factory resetting it ?
Phone is galaxy s i9000 (gsm, uk) on cyanogenmod 9.

There was a thread posted on here the other day, if you are rooted and have adb access you can do a rm -rf on something in the data partition.

This.
OP is rooted, since he is on CM9, and if you Google a bit, you will find that you can use adb to set something to 0 and your problem will be solved.

Assuming that this is your phone and is not stolen... This is how you can bypass the pattern lock.

Well, this is weird.
I plugged in usb cable just to get a bootloop. Didnt even do anything.
Now phone just shows cm splash (before animation) and reboots.
The worst is i cannot access neither recovery nor download mode...
How the hell did this happen ?

Was the device encrypted?

Pc hangs while flashing. Can it brick the phone?

Title says it all. If pc hangs while flashing a rom, can it brick the phone?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA Premium App
No it will not brick, as long as you can boot to download mode. Only way to brick is flashing incompatible bootloader or when you flash the recovery from a different phone.
This is discussed before btw.

Ok thanks. Sorry i didnt see another thread like these.

just to reassure you I pulled by phone usb jack halfway through flashing system. Booted to download mode again and flashed normally, no problems.
Ok then. Its a relieve for me. Since my pc is not high end and it hangs sometimes. I have two laptops though.

If its a bright light then it seems your not bricked and have the possibility to fix your phone.
What i would first do is try the command i gave you when you do have access to fastboot/adb
Okay, the problem is I can't access my bootloader if I did I would return to my stock or flashed the boot.IMG that's why I'm asking is there a way to turn on my phone or to access my bootloader in my case
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA Premium HD app
maybe the problem is in battery, can you find another to try, just to be sure...

I know that. And thats what im trying to tell you.
The command
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
will make your phone go into your bootloader without using the power + Volu down buttons.
but your saying you dont have access to the fastboot or adb files?
I actually thought of that but unfortunately I don't have any extra batteries but I will buy when today.
Just in case the problem wasn't with the battery what should I do??????

NFC won't turn on.

As the title says, every time I go into Google wallet it says that I need to not NFC on so I go into the settings and attempt to but every time I press it, it checks and then unchecks every time. I AM rooted. But I don't see how that could affect it. Any ideas?

Not sure if that might help, but it may steer you in the right direction

Yeah I did see that. But I'm not sure how it would affect my NFC. Thanks for the link though. I didn't flash a rom or factory reset anything.

Did you change batteries? If you did that's why.. the nfc chip is built into the battery

Is it really? I don't see how it's just not turning on.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium.
Yea.... so if you change batteries it won't turn on

I didn't switch batteries though. I tried to flash back to my stock rom from when I first rooted but it's not working.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
did u set up google wallet prior to going back to factory?
has nfc worked at all for u like in the past maybe when it was stock?
I set it up, rooted and tried it and it won't work now. Went back to factory image and I can't even access wallet because I can't get nfc to turn on at all. I'm gonna try to unroot and then try it and see
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Lol now after trying to unroot Google wallet says it's not compatible with my country. WTF.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
theres posts referring to this problem. Apparently you're supposed to clear the settings within google wallet before rooting. Google wallet may be permanently bricked on your device
I dont see how google wallet messed my nfc completely up

I heard the metal replacement backs fück with nfc
Do you have one?

I tried flashing to stock with Odin and obviously messed up.

Ok, figured it out. If anyone runs into this same problem reboot into stock recovery, do a factory wipe, wipe cache, then reboot.
If I'm able to help anyone that may run into this issue don't hesitate to pm me.

And there are more ppl with this problem but thx for the response
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Can you access the tablet using adb? Maybe logcat or other tools inside will help you to solve your problem.
From what you state, it might also be an hardware problem and it's just a coincedence that it happened after switching the governor.
If it is related - you can access the cpu governor options from shell.
If you get connected using adb, (adb shell), try to "su" or similar (maybe you're root when you connect - that depends on the way the root was applied...)
It should be around /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq , search for linux or android specific help on the files in there.
I wish you luck to resurect your device
My mobile phone touch screen failure, I will restart my mobile phone.
I can enter my device with adb, it didn't reconize my touch , but i get a broken pipe error
