[Q] Sony Play Station 3 Remote Play on Xperia Phones

Hi,
Do you think Sony will develop an app that let all the Xperia users to have acces with remote play to their pictures, video and music?
Why do you think they can't do it?
Did any one ever tried to do an app?
Does it have to do with the fact that the X10 still dont have DLNA?
I just wanted to know because it sucks the an old phone like the S.E. Aino has remote play avalable but not the Xperia! I'm no expert so if someone has an idea plz let us know!
Anyway'z if you find it's a good idea

Well the Aino can do it and so can Vaio PCs, so why not their flagship android phone? I can tell you this much, if they don't make an app for THIS phone they surely will for the Playstation phone.
I know the PSPhone is a rumer but still the X10 is their flagship phone!
It kills me to see that S.E. is letting the phone die ....
They know that people change handset every year and a half almost but still ...
Well, It's probably easier to write a Symbian app for Remote Play than it is to write an Android app, where there's lots of crap going on at once. Maybe when we get DLNA, we'll get a Remote Play surprise. Can't say it'd be useful though. I use remote play with my PSP... it's pointless.
why buying it? Aino has it for free why not us?

You still think it's a rumor?
http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/27/the-playstation-phone-is-still-real/
and more recently:

I admit Remote Play for the PSP is not all that ...
But for the Xperia its something else I mean when I am somewhere waiting insted of putting a movie on my memory card I could just stream it
And for the PSP phone ... It's been almos a year since the first time I heard the rumor ... and seriously I don't think S.E. is going to release it because their working on a PSP 2. .. why do both!

The posts on Engadget were from the end of October.
Year ago = rumor
October 2010 = Prototype.
Why do both? How about different markets for one. You could say the same thing about the PSP Go. They marketed that to a different group than those that would normally get the 3000 model. I have both because I use the Go in my car for MP3 storage as well as something to keep me occupied while I'm out running errands or something. I like gaming on my phone, but i don't do it for a long time because I don't want it to drain the battery. If the PSP phone had the capabilities of the PSP Go along with being an android phone, then I would definitely get it.
Why is there still no app for ps3 remote play?
Final answer..

I think I can answer this original question once and for all.. Sony has always been one of those companies that likes to monopolizes their products, e.g., their accessories only work with their products. In the case of them making a "remote play" app for a device like the Xperia Pro, to work with the PS3, this would be a conflict of interest for them. Yes, the Xperia is a Sony product, but it uses the Android system. Sony would have to create an "Android" app to work with the PS3. And that would mean that any phone that had Android, could simply download this app and use it with the PS3. Guess what! We would no longer need to buy a PSP, a Sony product, to have the remote play function with the PS3! I'm sure the rest is self explanatory.
So why hasn't a third party, or some Joe in his basement made an app that would do the trick? Well Sony would simply release a manditory update for the PS3 that would render that app useless. That's mainly what those updates are for anyway; to eliminate hacks and cracks.
Does this mean there will never be an official app? Well I would say no. Just as someone else said, with enough demand, Sony might eventually change their minds. Or when the PS3 is no longer a primary interest for them. Who knows? Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Noob Needs Help linking wifes Epic to Archos Tablet.

OK, just bought the wife a Archos 101 G9 tablet yesterday and first thing I did was upgrade it to the ICS that was available. My wife has been using an Epic 4g(slider) from sprint now for about a year. I've really done nothing with it as I'm, more or less, a windows person.
Anyway. she wants to use the Tablet as a video viewer/movie watcher when on trips, on top of using it to continue with our son's education with online courses through his school. We had thought we'd be able to link her Epic w/ Gingerbread to the tablet with Ice Cream sandwich via either BT or WiFi tethering so her phone would act as the modem. I can't seem to make that happen. When both items are searching, niether one can find each other. i tried it with my WP7 HTC Arrive and they did find each other but could not link up due to incompatibility. the usual $20+ fee extra per month from Sprint would allow her to Hot Spot her phone but I was wondering if there was another option?
My WP7 phone doesn't allow tethering but I was hoping someone, somewhere might know of an app or other means, besides fully Rooting/jailbreaking/hacking(Bricking) her phone.
Any and all help/insight is appreciated.
Thanks
John
OK, can somebody direct me to a good thread on the easiest way to root Android, or my wife's phone (Epic 4G slider). I need the absolute most simpleton, hand holding, beginner version out there. I'm pretty much new to all of this since I've never really dealt with Android before, I've always been a Windows person but now I'm my wife's tech support for her phone and now tablet.
Thanks

which watch. Any experience??

Hi, I am just searching for a good Android watch, which is most important for use during meetings (not getting the phone, but just to decide to ignore phone calls or take the important ones in one view) and for fun in my spare time.
I know it is a bit geeky to wear something, but this one is less ugly than most of the other watches I found for Android.
I just found this website http://www.wimm.com/wimm_preview.html
Just curious if some one uses this or found an ever better looking watch.
Money is not the issue, it is for my birthsday so my wife pays for it!!!
I saw Sony Smartwatch, but I didn't like the design of that...
So, just looking for a good watch working with our device...
What do you suggest?

WONDER phone hardware company

I keep hearing about these guys, anyone know what they're doing that's so different?

Newbee could use some (help) coaching

Hello hello! My name is John,
I'd like to say I've been in and out of XDA on off for years and you guys really know your stuff. although I don't understand a lot of what you guys are saying and this is the whole point of this post I would like to learn. I honestly believe I'm in the right place and I'd like you and especially XDA for being here! It's about time somebody did something in the Android market to give us back control of our phones!
I have the worst luck with cell phones if it's not stolen I'm sure to break the screen. I got really good with computers and would like to learn a lot about cell phones. Currently I own a cheap one and it would probably be a good one to start with for that reason. (this is the third one by the way within 3 months.)
I broke the digitizer screen on this one and would like to replace it but I can't find one anywhere online if anyone knows where I might be able to find one please let me know! The phone model is Alcatel TCL LX or A502DL are there any other Alcatel phones that have the same digitizer screen? (5.43 480X960)
Is there a clean OS for this phone? I believe you guys call it a ROM? (8.1 Oreo)
Is anybody out there willing to assist me I'm ready and I'm willing. Thanks ?
