Searching is a wonderful friend and your answers can be found on the first page of the Developmental section, so take a moment to read over the list of topics and stickies threads there, and I am sure you will find your answers in no time. If you have any questions about where to post a thread in the future, send me a PM and I will help you determine where it should be placed.
Adhere to the rules. Don't post new threads when others have already made the effort to put up detailed instructions for the very same topics.
Follow this. Very helpful.

Hello,
lately I updated my SE xperia neo from android 2.3.4 via "update service" program and now I have now something like that:
Model: MT15i
Version of Android system: 4.0.4
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
Compilation: 4.1.B.0.431
and here my problems just appearing. Tried to follow this thread:

but I do not see .ftf file to my phone. Idk also what to do to check if my bootloader is locked or unlocked (guess that after official flash process it's locked - but not sure). Googled over few days and I can't find anything simple to root my device.
Thank you
You even found a thread and you followed it, and you still create new thread for your question instead of asking in the thread you follow. I don't understand that.
Anw, all you need is in that thread. ftf, instructions, kernel for root process, it's all there.. just read first post.
p.s. if you updated via update service and you never unlocked your BL(by using test point), then it's locked.
p.p.s. this kind of questions should go to Q&A section.
The problem is that, I can't find .ftf file to mt15i.

Or is it problem that it's not written is it i or a?
Uploaders didn't specified but I believe it's for i.
Please do not open a new thread for your own questions. Most of the answers are already posted just use the search function to find the. If necessary please post your question in an EXISTING THREAD with same topic. Dispersed information helps nobody. Thanks!

How about you do your own research and figure it out for yourself. People here are not here to spoon feed you answers or do the work for you...

Hi,
1. With all respect - please don't post the same questions on different threads.
2. I answered you already on It_ler's thread
3. One of the most important rules on xda is: First read then ask
4. Don't ask questions: "What is the best..." - if something is the best for me doesn't mean will be the best also for you.
Best regards

1) Do not use idiotic titles for topics like "help". These titles do not describe the topic and will likely not lead to many reads of topics or people bothering to help you.
2) Do not create multiple topics for same thing.
3) Do not be lazy, we're not here to spoon feed you. Instead read sticky topics and use search button. There is 100% absolutely no reason for this topic to exist as it already exists and has already been answered so do not ask again.
So basically please go and read.
You should go read the rules some more before making threads.
