[Q] Illusive Gingerbread ROM and Broken Links... - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm currently on ICS 4.0.4 which annoyingly auto-updated OTA when my phone came back from repair the other day. Since this happened though, Kies no longer recognises the device, so I was wondering whether downgrading back to my stock Gingerbread then re-upgrading from there might help? The problem is that I can't find the rom I need anywhere. SamFirmware doesn't seem to have it and non of the Intratech links that point to Multiupload seem to work?
PDA: I9100XWKF3
PHONE: I9100XXKE7
CSC: I9100XEUKD1
I ended up downloading this one instead:
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE: I9100XXKI1
CSC: I9100XEUKH2
I'm pretty certain the top one was the ROM that came with my unbranded Virgin UK Galaxy S2 though. Now I haven't flashed it yet as I'm getting a little confused when it comes to downloading kernels and bootloaders. Have I got to download those seperately?
Yes, I'm reletivley new here and inexperienced so please refrain from sarchasm or downtalking please. It's help I need and it will be deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance folks.

Thanks fxrb,,
All the links appear to work too. I spent pretty much all day trying to find some working links so much appreciated. However, I can't seem to find the XWKF3 ROM still though. You think there might be a reason why Intratech hasn't uploaded it perhaps?

Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 you can find all the different firmware for the samsung galaxy sII with a tutorial to install it !
Thanks for the link but i already have it. im just unsure of which one i need.
Kies is offering you the correct firmware but you dont want it .
In which case a stock Samsung firmware is required and that means any or to match KI4 from the link .
The CPW KI4 is posted

Need...Some help with Flashing

Hi, I have looked endlessly to try to get a grasp on the concept of flashing but it seems to refuse to sink in for me, so I'm hoping maybe one of you more experienced in doing this can help me out. First off, I'm with Bell and my phone information (Still on stock) is as follows.
PDA: I9100MUGKG2
PHONE: I9100MUGKG2
CSC: I9100MBMCKG2
Basically, what I want to do is upgrade the firmware to 2.3.6, but preferably I would still like it to be an 'official' upgrade and from what I've read, it seems that it must NOT be a 'Frankenstein' firmware.
Then I'm only left with the...:
XILA2
Firmware info
PDA:XILA2
PHONE: XWKI1
Date: 12/01/2012
Android 2.3.6
ITV (Italy):http://www.multiupload.com/DCYIJJ47I5
XILA2 Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/U7GK3FPHXF

Is it safe for me to install this firmware even though I have a different phone model number and everything? Every guide I've looked at just says to pick ANY firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 so I don't know if that's true or not. If I installed this firmware would it change my CSC so that my phone would no longer work with my Bell carrier?
Thanks in advance...!
TLDR: Can I use this firmware update with my phone and would I still be able to use my phone with my current, Bell, carrier.
If you would like to help me, I would greatly appreciate it if you could use some links (preferably download links) in your response. Even if you don't want to help me, thanks for looking anyways!
i am also curious
Edit: Answer was given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453251
No, if you are on a carrier locked device then you must flash carrier specific stock firmware in order to save warranty otherwise its fine to flash pretty much anything
BTW you should have received official updates by now.
If you can elaborate more about your location then we can help you out.
Alternately you can also check out this thread, it its for Bell/Virgin Canada Specific devices

I guess you haven't heard? That's because megaupload has been shut down. In most of whatever mysterious posts you're talking about, the later posts in that thread will probably note that the devs whose work was hosted on shut down sites like megaupload are looking for other hosting sites to upload their files to.
You'll have to be patient.
Sounds like we're in the same boat @sout13 :-/

just watch out for sammobile.com firmwares. they heve new bootloaders and if you flash these firmwares you then have to flash an old bootloader to reset binary counter and get rid of the yellow triangle.

[Q] Requesting DXKG3 stock firmware and kernel

Hi,
I want to get back to stock 2.3.3 on my S2 for warranty issues. I've figured DXKG3 firmware and kernel should be the right set (from "[ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH, KI, KJ, KK1/2/5, KL1/2/3, LA2,4 Download").
However the download links are down for the files and I can't find any other links. I'm also a new user so I can't post there to request. Does anybody have any links for the DXKG3 stock firmware and kernel?
Thank you.

[Q] Attempted to unbrick after rooting and failed, help?

About a month back maybe two I attempted to root by S2 using several guides on this site. I managed to **** it up and brick the phone, shortly after I managed to unbrick it and flash back what i thought was the correct stock firmware.
At first I noticed several small differences in the OS, the contacts list didn't show up in the phone app. As well as these small differences I also have been experiencing an issue where the phone would just turn off and the only fix would be to remove the battery and reboot.
I have no idea how to go about finding and putting back the correct firmware on to my S2. I looked at several sites that host the many many stock firmwares but was afraid to try incase it screwed up the phone even more. I tried connecting it to Samsungs Kies but that informed me that a factory restore was not compatible with my phone.
I don't really care about having a rooted phone anymore, I just want to get back to the stock firmware with my phone fully working again.

Unless you had to perform JTAG connection or replace motherboard your device was not "bricked". Its likely you simply flashed incorrect kernel/rom resulting it device not booting to system.
I managed to restore from here

I was hoping you'd tell us
Branded? unbranded?
Take your pick. As long as it's 4.0.3 you are all good.

So if i download:
United Kingdom (Three/3)
GT-I9100LKAH3G
PDA: I9100XXLPQ
CSC: I9100H3GLP2
Phone: I9100NELP2
For my unlocked S2 which has a EE/T-Mobile sim, I'll be fine?
I've tried the 4.0.3 T-Mobile and 3 4.0.3 and both have errors once installed.
I can't seem to find an unbranned UK 4.0.3 which is what mine was originally I think.
tried looking over here?
If you want unbranded go to sammobile.
