Floating touch on the galaxy player - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

So I saw the other day that people have been able to get floating touch working on the galaxy SL and galaxy S2 (here). They do this by editing the files in /sys/touchscreen, which as far as I can tell our players don't have. I was wondering if there was a way that this could be done on the SGP 5.0.

If you have cm9 you could enable this. Just go to developers options and click show visual touches.

As far as I can tell all that does is show a dot where you are touching the screen.

Don't you think this is more of a hardware thing?

I don't think so. Ive used Gingerbread ROMS, cm9 and cm10 ROMS for the Galaxy Player 5.0, and CM9 and CM10 have the visual touches, while Gingerbread didnt have it. So it should be a software thing.

I beleive this here is the mod:

i think this might work as this is a mod for cm9 and we could just apply the mod to it!

guys. It has nothing to do with software. he's not talking about the actual visual response after touching the screen. it can't be done on our players because its hardware related. On the xperia where floating touch was made, the touchscreen is too sensitive and I believe that the xperia and player don't use the exact same screen. Floating touch is where you almost touch the screen and the screen responds without you actually touching it, just being near it.

[Q] Wiimote app that works?

Does anyone know if any of the wiimote apps work for our phone? I tried it back when i was running nero but im not sure if its ROM specific or the phone itself. Or maybe its the apps i have been using. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Anything based on a Samsung Ron will not work. The Bluetooth stuff is located on the framework and on the Samsung ones, it's missing some important parts.
The only roms that work with the wiimote are cm6/7 and miui.

Yep. One or rye other but not both.

Wait. After some thought, it seems all of the gingerbread rims are able to use it. Hmmmm

Screen record

Ive always used screen cast in the past which worked fine but on the jelly bean ROMs the video just becomes a garbled mess of static. Anyone have a different app that they know is working?

Even if you go into menus or apps? That's when mine starts looking like a 1960's television.
Would you mind posting your screencast settings and rom? I'm on cm10 nightly
This is what I get when I open a menu, drawer or app. Tried every setting and no joy.
.....edit. I can't upload a picture because the xda app sucks balls and keeps telling me to upgrade when I have the latest version
Update: it seems to run better right after a restart before any apps are opened but still goes nuts if you try and open the drawer.

I'm on the cp3 collective ROM. I literally just installed the app this morning (never touched settings) run app and buzz around my phone including opening up app drawer. I've viewed the clips and all seems fine.

Installed a new kernel. No results. Going to flash some other ROMs. Maybe its just cm10

Update: restored an old liquid build and it works fine. Must be cm10
New liquid jelly bean is a no go. Also cm9. Screw this app. Gotta find something else.

It worked fine for me in Jelly Bean as long as I turned off hardware overlays in system dev settings.

This may not work across all roms (I've tried it on 2 roms, worked on ICS but messed things up on GB). Make sure you make a back up of the file in case anything breaks.

[Q] samsung stock camera on an aosp rom(root box)

Ho everyone, I've been having a great time with root box. I was a bit discouraged about using an aosp rom(because of all the extra features that Samsung roms have (ultima rom ) but the multitasking lag that I suffer from it was gone the moment i changed to an aosp rom. I miss some things about samsung roms, but otherwise I quite happy I did the change. But the only thing that I think is the best for me is the Samsung camera app. It has far superior quality and functions over the aosp one even though its faster in opening. But it lack the low light conditions that the Samsung one has(and don't tell that they has the same quality because it doesn't)
So to sum it up I wannna know if i can have the Samsung camera app over my rom( root box for the ones who skipped my intro) or something that I could do to use that camera. I know that there are some persons out there that could have the same question so i hope this can help them and that somebody gives any idea, thanks.

No matter what camera you install, all will act roughly the same. Completely the same regarding lowlight conditions.
If you need a better camera, go back to Crapwiz.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Well by seeing the suggestion you are giving i will try to do dual boot with siyah kernel with a tw rom. Any suggestions about a light one, just to use the camera.

Well you could compile the camera apk with all the dependencies built into it (harder than it sounds). We did it back in the S1 days.

Smart Stay and Multi windows on I717

I was just wondering what the latest was about smart stay and or multi windows on the I717 TW roms is it possible to get theses features on our Notes? The SG3, Note 2, and the SG4 all have these features cooked in to stock TW roms. Are there hardware limitations wth our devices that won't allow these features to work? Are there roms available now that have these cooked in already and I just can't find them? Any answers to these questions would be great.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well it's a start at least more progress on that link than anywhere else perhaps if more devs get hold of this work they can fix it and cook it in their roms ptmr3, sam.jh, bigfau, JamieD81, ect.
