i dont think u have to be using cm9 , its compatible with all android ver. i guess
That's impossible, you can't add that feature on the speakers/earphones. They must be designed with Beats. Common sense...
What does the app actually do?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
It's a themed music player.
music player ??!!! .. it is an App which installs beats effect on ur phone and it requires a Root permission and i confirm that it is 100% workin and i hear a difference in the sound quality .. what do u mean by themed music player , why dont u try it by urself before posting ?
This is for headphones or the speaker?
In the app it shows for both.. it shows that it installs some drivers don't knw what drivers..

it works on both .. when play music (speakers) the effects work as the beats logo pop up in the notification bar , but if u plug in ur headphones the beats audio is activated automatically and the beats logo pop up

So you think it works just because it shows the Beats logo?
Dude, I have a One S which officially supports Beats Audio and the speaker is nothing more than a volume enhancer. I hear no difference in sound quality between the One S' speaker and the X8's speaker.
Dunno about the earphones though.
Well, i have been using this app for a week now, and i reverted back to the Walkman app today. The sound is no better with this one, in fact, the Walkman app plays the songs louder... And to top it out, when i make a playlist, it plays the songs randomly and repeatedly sometimes... So unless a new version comes out that it bugless, i'll stick to the Walkman app for now
Guys, it is just a placebo!
I Didn't found any difference on either of the speaker or headphones..
well i tested it in both ways (with/without beats) with Beats the sound is clean and slightly more bass .. its the best effect for me until now , btw i use it always on my car's speakers + DSP EQ i can suit the EQ the way i want , so it just depends on the user , all i wanted is to share it if someone else like it
it doesn't sound better, sounds bad. Is like a bad equalizer no drivers pff..
No need for this man... I tried and it just disables my original best eq which is DSP Manager + PlayerPro Sound Effect.

thank you
This does work guys - Just not on our little phones.
Here is the link to the thread on XDA. Our x8 is not in the list of working devices.
So all of you above that say thanks and that it's great - LMFAO!!!!

It differs from person to person. Remember that audio quality also depends on your headphones/earphones. Go and try some of the walkman players in the themes/apps section, there are many available. But, anyway my opinion -
ThilianaC's Walkman - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786767
Sennheisser MX 365 Earphones.

I have blueicee v3 rom installed in my sony xperia and the walkman player is already installed in it with acid sound mod...... i like those headphones you mentioned above.........but these are not available in pakistan...... but i have to search for the earphones....
i approve the post above mine. im also using Xperia_blue ice v3. the sound is good especially in earphone. but in speaker mode, i feel that it is less loud. In my opinion if you want loudness go for the stock rom, but for the quality go for the mods. :fingers-crossed:
well you can try pushing the dsp manager to /system/app/.....
& fix the permission to rw-r--r--
it worked for me in my Xperia ray stock. 42
DSP manager for Stock ICS is working perfectly
Aaaaand.. its still the best sound mod ever for headphone
How about pimp my beats from pimpmyrom, just needs root.
Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro
I didn't try it in ICS...
But it ran without any problem in my .42 firmware.

ROM is a matter of personal opinion. Whichever ROM a person chooses to use is because that ROM appeals to that individual. Therefore, it is not easy to suggest a ROM, as what a person likes is not necessarily what the other person would like.
Also it is not necessary to change a ROM to obtain good sound performance. There are enough sound mod in XDA to satisfy a person's need, without him or her changing a ROM. You can try Viper audio mod (which I would personally recommend, especially for the wide variety of opetions available) or the Acid audio mod or Beats audio mod etc. Sound performance would also depend on your music player. Players like PowerAmp, Player Pro etc, offer a lot of control over how the sound quality would be like.

Yeah ofc i know that, but on my secound phone i tryed alot of roms, with have good sound quality,or a little lower. Its a difference between dll's
Also i had Viper audio, its not bad but battery drain is just horrible. About 40% faster my phone is dead with this mod. Thats why i am asking with one ROM for live with walkman will have good sound mod's like Xperia Z walkman "pure performance"

u think wrong bro, its not rom
i would tell u choose A ROM. to ur liking 1st. bcuz this is the real deal. soundmods are a bit unversally so it dont matters.
just to list: (works on(above GB))
Viper's Audio --> CM, & STOCK up to 4.4
Sony Audio (WALKMAN) cm & stock up to 4.4
DSP manager - is only on CM (or DiY) probably this will have lowest effect on battery bcuz its very stripped down in sound ench.
acid audio is too buggy/not really for our devices
those ''beats'' audio mods are more like a joke.
i would say CM is allways best in battery even if u dont will use 4.2+ , switch to cm (even cm9) will give u huge improvement.
soundmod its up to u.

Use Viper then, superior to all other audio mods, if you have a moderate to high-end pair of headphones (personally using AKG K520) it can do miracles to the sound, even with the bundled headset MH750 the difference is easily hearable. Of course, it doesn't equal to cd player + amp configuration, but ZU and Viper aren't that far from them
Regards

The problem is, V4A runs not stable every time, it can be closed by Low Memory Manager from Kernel, maybe it force closes, and have big battery drain
Weird, stable for me. As for the closing when low ram, move the app to system partition. Also I haven't noticed the battery drainage.

Now developers we need stereo mod

Dears
now after rooting C5 ultra for both locked and unlocked bootloaders , we need stereo mod for the device
audio files in etc named as :
- audio device
- audio effect
- audio policy
as i understood we may need to change in (audio device XML ) , i made some changes but it didn't work with me, any ideas.
Yes, we definitely need stereo mode and LOUDER sound!
My wife has the Xperia Z5 & sound is far louder and is stereo...
Viper4 android works well of course. you have to use the selinux mod changer To get it working. And it sounds awesome. With my monster headphones
