I have a Media pad s7 with a broken sim tray. I was using a sim adapter to change a mini sim to full size sim and it got stuck when I was trying to remove it, so sadly the bit of extra force needed, damaged to sim tray and it now has broken contacts. Does anyone know where I can send it for repair. There does not sem to be a service centre in Australia so I would be happy to send it to any other country for repair.
Thanks

My SIM tray is also broken, but not my fault. The service made me an offer 380 US $ .. i think it is cheaper to buy an other device.
For me ..no more Huawei

While removing a stuck SIM, the pin at the edge seems to be broken and now it wont recognize any SIM cards.
I found replacement parts online but anyone have any ideas on how to replace this??
Any help would be appreciated.
nearest phone service should be able to do it...
or you can buy the slot on ebay
So there is something wrong with the SIM tray in my i9300 S3. The mechanism which holds the SIM card in place seems to have gone wrong. The SIM card doesn't stay in place when I push it in.
I know that the SIM tray is a part that is easy to replace. But since my phone is still under warranty, I took it back to the shop I bought it from. Now they've got back to me saying the SIM IC has been damaged as well and needs replacing. And that this repair is chargeable.
According to them "The sim IC is that which allows the sim card to detect a mobile network". I told them I've never had a problem with mobile reception on my phone. But they're saying that the damaged SIM IC may cause problems in future even though there is no problem now.
So my question is
What is SIM IC and where exactly is it located in the phone?
If the SIM IC gets damaged in future, would it be easy to replace like the SIM tray?
Is there any truth to what they're telling me or is it possible that they're trying to make some extra cash off me?
Thanks in advance for your help.

So SIM IC is a chip deep inside the phone. How is it user damage when I've never opened up the phone? Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me

Hi everyone,
Today I received my Le Max 2 from an Aliexpress seller, the problem is it didn't come with a sym tray.
I'll buy one from china, but it will take too much time to arrive and I won't be able to test the phone before the purchase protection ends.
So I was wondering if any of you fellow guys have a spare sim tray?
Maybe your phone is broken and you don't use it anymore and you can send me your sim tray? It would be a huge favor. I'll be happy to ship you the new one when I will receive it. I hope so much that someone in the community has a spare one :good:
First, if your phone came incomplete (even if it's something as simple as the sim tray) you shouldn't accept it as good. How can you be sure the seller tested your phone before sending it, if it came without a sim tray? I think you should use Aliexpress' protection this time.

Yes I'm contacting the seller, but I know I won't receive a full refund without shipping back the phone, which costs at least 30€.
So I wanted to see if someone of the XDA community can help me solving the issue faster and cheaper.
I will obviously pay for the shipping of the tray, and I will send a new one to the person who helped me as soon as I receive the one I bought from China.
