Hi All,
Nasty lines have appeared across the screen of my sgs2 Had a bit of a search but having a bit of a senior moment and cant find a link to the current official fw
Need to jig and reflash before the phone fails totally
Can anyone help please?
If its to sent to service I'm sure any relative new version of stock Vodafone should work, you don't need to have the latest in order to send it to service since the phone usually packs an older version when you open it from the shop.
Indeed I would settle for any one. Couldnt see one in the official fw thread, Im probably just being blind :/
Branded /Provider roms post Vodafone is not stock .

Ah ok, so how would I go about getting a vody one?

Yes,no need to root
and remember one thing that don't tick re-partition in odin
One thing, when I debranded an Orange phone it wouldn't boot past the Samsung screen, Its better to power of then hold power, up and menu go into that menu and do a factory reset first.
hi,ive done it & it worked no problem, thanks sahibunlimited your a top man, just one last thing can i update as my phone is searching for updates ?

Install updates via ODIN = YES
Via KIES who knows all depends upon the phones codes matching a firmware on the server .

The above post is the only mis-giving I have to flashing this phone.
After reading virtually all of Intratech massive thread on this I'm still the no wiser.
My basic question is the same as the one posted in this thread. If I have a UK branded phone and then flash it with "official" unbranded UK firmware will I be able to update it in the future over the air or with KES? There doesn't seem to be a black or white answer to that only a suck it and see one.
I guess I've been spoilt using Sony phones which were easy to update and got even easier when Wotan became free. You flashed them and there was never a problem updating with SEUS.

Thats the answer simply due to you changing the codes on the phone to something Kies may not recognize .
You can download your current firmware from the stock rom or branded rom posts or use CHECKFUS .
That would enable a flash back to original for a Kies update .
Not many join a developers forum to stick with official release. Its all a pain in the arse waiting for the phone provider to update and asking when its coming to my phone .

That's a good point and I guess you're right.
Either way even if I have a problem this forum seems to have an answer for virtually all of them.
That's a problem in itself as it becomes quite daunting if you look too hard.
Makes interesting reading though.

Need a quick answer. Long story short: I rooted my Phone with CF-Root>Want to Un-root>Found a firmware (XXEMA2)>Downloaded it but, I am not sure that it's the right version for my GT-19300?>I typed *#1234# *To check my firmware*>It displays:
Version:
AP: 19300XXEMA2
CP: 19300XXELLA *Or was it this?*
CSC: 19300JVEMA1
So...Did i downloaded its official firmware or it was the (XEELLA) firmware i should have downloaded? Sorry for the english, English is not my first language. I just wanted to make sure, That i have downloaded the right version for my "Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300)" and would it be safe to flash it with this firmware, I downloaded? Thank you for taking your time for answering my question. It will be much appreciated.

Flashing is never 100% safe. You can find the most up to datefirmware for your carrier and region on sammobile.com.

But "Region" matters, right? I download this firmware because i couldn't find (XXELLA) Firmware [Region: Pak]. So i did some research but, I only found this firmware which was from my Region. So would it be safe to flash this firmware or should i find the (XXELLA) Firmware for my S3 (GT-I9300)? *Which i can't seem to find*. Thanks for quick response.

Region doesn't matter, only if you want ota updates you need a matching region and csc if I am not wrong. But anyway you can flash any new version via Odin as well, hence I wouldn't bother with it.

As i listed up there "[PAK]" that means [Pakistan] "Region". I am not sure what firmware is needed? The one i downloaded or the other one that i can't seem to find. Please don't tell me to go to "Sammobile.com" because i can't acces it i don't know why...Vola, now i can acces "Sammobile.com" *Wierd, it wasnt opening a few hours ago but now it did* So anyways, Its not about Downloading the firmware i just want the QUESTION TO BE PROPERLY ANSWERED Which is *That did i downloaded the Right Firmware Or should I download the Other Firmware?* The question is so simple why you people can't seem to understand it? Are you guys even staying at topic? The question is not about "What firmware i need to download", The question is "What firmware is to be used to RE-return to my Stock Firmware, I had". I will wait for 'Senior member' to reply, Anyways thank you guys.

First of all. For someone who is looking for help your tone is offensive and discouraging to those that might be able to help. If the question is indeed so simple as you ask then why are you asking the question in the first place.
Second of all, the reason people ask you to look at sammobile is because you can select the region that you are in and/or bought the handset from and would be able to check for yourself if you have indeed downloaded the correct firmware for Pakistan.
Sammobile is down at the minute and will be back up at any minute. They Tweeted this 20minutes ago.

I apologise if i have misunderstood what you have wrote but it is just how what you have wrote comes across.
Anyway, was your phone branded or unbranded when you bought it?
I have just had a think aswell. If you want to revert to complete stock unrooted, you could do it using kies firmware/update utility under tools. If you type the model as GT-I9300 and enter your device serial number (under battery, not imei) and connect your phone in download mode, kies will flash the correct firmware that that device shipped with.
I would help with the correct version but sammobile is still down and that is the site to help pinpoint the correct version details which you are asking for.

Here is the firmware information for a stock unbranded Pakistan GT-I9300. This is what would have been shipped on the device when it was manufactured.
Product Code: GT-I9300MBDPAK
Version: Android 4.0.4
HIDSWVER: I9300XXALE9/I9300OJVALE9/I9300XXLE8/I9300XXALE9
I can not find the latest update for your region atm. But this firmware would be the right one for your region.
It is ICS though. you could install this and then OTA update your device.

In the link I've posted if you search you wok find a link to Pakistan firmware. If your device is a Pakistan unbranded Rom then that file will restore a complete stock system.
Before you flash, turn off your phone and hold volume dwn, home and power. Then press the up arrow once in download mode. Look at the Flash count abs make sure it's 0 or reads stock or official next to the status. If it doesn't reboot your phone and use triangle away which is in the forum and remove the Flash count. Then Flash your rom via odin.

It seems you have a custom ROM (Revolt JB) on your device. That ROM is not based on Samsung's ROMs (hence the crappy camera issue for you). So Kies is useless too.
To get back your old ROM, simply download the appropriate stock firmware for your device from www.samsung-updates.com or www.androidfirmwares.net, extract it and flash via Odin. Don't know how to do that? Check out the stickied guides here on XDA.
P.S. Being a newbie is not an excuse for not searching or reading. So stop being one and start learning. :good:
Good luck! And feel free to ask questions if you get confused.

Wow.. that was fast!
You can root it to remove bloatware mate.
yeah i googled the blue screen.
I thought thats what my mate was originally was doing. root/in it,he said it'd get rid of l bloatware on it and my battery and stuff will last and run quicker.
I was reading up on bloatware but i havnt got a sd card to do. Ive only had the phone few month and 16gb is fine for me so not bought one.
Slight problem tho. it wont rotate to normal screen. it will rotate 90 to the side, then to the otherside but it wont go back upright. Never had that problem last time :/

Hello! I have Samsung Galaxy Trend S-7562, which was probably made in Malaysia. I got it as a gift. I wanted to install KyleOpen Rom and did install but I missed to be on XXBMD6. There is no network since. Later I again downloaded and went on XXBMD6 and again installed KyleOpen Rom. But the network didn't appear. I am so frustrated. My parents are not going to buy me a new phone which is very sad.
I went to costumer care of samsung and they said they are not able to fix the problem. I think the network problem is because of the wrong Kernel and Modem I am having currently. So are there any expertise who can help me. That will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I went to costumer care of samsung and they said they are not able to fix the problem. I think the network problem is because of the wrong Kernel and Modem I am having currently. So are there any expertise who can help me. That will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello! I have Samsung Galaxy Trend S-7562, which was probably made in Malaysia. I got it as a gift. I wanted to install KyleOpen Rom and did install but I missed to be on XXBMD6. You can't just flash a rom based off of that. You need to either flash the entire firmware or you should just be able to grab the modem from the firmware, but probably best just to do the whole thing to make sure everything is set up as it is supposed to between the modem, bootloader, etc.
What should I do now?

Thank You! Vaibhav. Are you sure that it supports S7562XXBMD6 baseband? If so, the only thing I have to do is download this baseband and flash it through Odin, right (ticking the PDA) ?
Plus, In the board after removing the battery there is "S7562_C" printed. I think this my phone and there is NOT "Duos" printed on the top on right hand side on the front of my phone. I can't post the url due to some restrictions so here's the link: www (dot) techinsights(dot)com/DeviceProfileSF_AustinParts.aspx?TeardownId=1438
So can you guys assist me from the basic what should I do to get my network signal back on?
I appreciate your reply guys. Thank you very much.

A sign of relief.
Okay! A little sign of relief. Thank you es0tericcha0s and I will hit that "Thanks" button  Okay! So even though someone send my phone from Malaysia and I'm using it on Nepal. I should install the Chinese firmware because my phone is S-7562C, right? If Yes! I will instantly begin the download and do as instructed.
Thanks!
According to the baseband version you posted and this page here:
http://sampro.pl/firmware/android/samsung-gt-s7562/
the original firmware you had on it would have been the one from China on 4.0.4 unless you had changed that, which I am sure you would have known, but if it was working before, then it should be good to go.
Messed up.

Okay! All I did was downloaded KyleOpen ROM, flashed it and the Kernel. I lost the network here because I was NOT on XXBMD6 or whatever they wanted to be in. So i downloaded the XXBMD6 and again flashed it and installed KyleROM. Still No Network and I took it to Samsung costumer care here and i don't know what they did. I think they flashed some other firmware because, I think the baseband was not "S7562ZCMB2" before flashing KyleOpen ROM. So, do you think I/they changed my firmware? I forgot which baseband I was in. I sound like I know nothing.
