I'm having some problem with my sd-card. I use a class 4 16 gb SD card and I can browse it using a file manager and even play songs stored within. But some apps cannot detect it. When using the camera, NavDroyd and some apps, it is asking me to attach a card. I tried remounting the card to no avail.
And another thing - I have a torrent app. I started downloading a 2gb file but decided to cancel it. But the free space of my card was still reduced by 2gb although I removed the torrent and data. Any tips on this? Thanks.
Any ideas?
Try to copy what you have on sd card on your pc, then format it and copy the things back on sd card.Have you tried another card? Maybe is a rom problem. And the utorrent thingy, browse the sd-card and check the folder where it downloads the torrents and see if the file is still there, and manually delete it.
If I format my sd-card. do I have to repeat the convertion of ext2 to ext3,etc.. stuffs?
I was wondering how i make apps automatically install to the external sd?
I once moved the "Android" folder from the internal sd to the external sd and it simply uninstalled them. I tried app2sd but that only allows the app to install to the internal sd and when i do move to internal sd the apps dont show up on my app list
i simply want to know how to make the "Android" folder defaultly be made in my external sd because that is where the big data saves e.g. 1gb of data that modern combat installs etc
and i want to know how to do it with it still being shown on the app list. last time i simply dragged the folder and my whole phone crashed, nothing worked and everything including twlauncher force closed to i had to factory reset.
Try search question been asked multiple times .

I cant use buttons that drop down on my phone so i need links at the least
Well it's been 3 Weeks with no answers so I think I should just bump this up
All I ask is "Can I move sd data of apps from my internal sd to external sd with the moved apps still working and if yes how?"
Also is there a way of making sd data downloading/installing defaultly to my external sd
Thank You
Not exactly what you want but I use 'GL to SD' from the market. It allows you to move gameloft and other data from the internal memory to external. Not the app, just the data. Another one is 'Directory Bind'.

Thanx but I can't find this "directory bind"on the net, if that allows me to move data it would help alot.
It's in the 'themes & apps' section. Here is the link :

Personally I prefer gl to sd. You can select other folders to move, not just gameloft. It's a bit manual but works great. When I tried directory bind I lost settings on reboot but maybe there's a solution for that. Took me a bit to figure out but it turned out that I was entering the source/target folders the wrong way around.

Thanks alot for your help.. I'll try both of them out and see which one I prefer.
i usually use the internal storage for apps...
bt now, as all of it has been used up, where do i have to put data for games because when i do put them on externl sd card n move the application to phone, the game works only when i have opted externl sd card as my install location in the settings ( in which case the app which have their data on internl sd card dont work...
how to use both of them at the same time, i mean some games with thei data in intrnl sd card , n some with theirs in extrnl sd card ?????
Not possible in a reliable manner.
Do you really need that many games? It's a phone, not a gaming console...
As far as i know, in kitkat apps are restricted from accessing other folders in sd card. but they can read and write data to their own folders in SD card isn't it? so y am i unable to move all the data to sd card? like in asphalt or something, cant that app move the data to its own folder in the SD card?

Click to collapse
Yeah that's not possible .Its how it is....only apk move to SD card not the app data. You shud just root and then use Folder mount
Low end phones are much better with root access

HELP.!!!!!!!
How can i move pre-installed apps to sd card??? My phone is rooted...
pre installed apps are usually placed in system folder
the updates of those apps can be moved to sd card using link2sd
in order to move the entire app to sd card, the system app should be converted to user app
heard about another app called folder mount with about the same usage, but personally haven't tried it yet
Movable with 4.4 api
0ok friends..i have read somewhere that app data can be moved if they are using the 4.4 api..
and i have installed frontline commando d day(mod)..its one single apk with the data, and it installed to sd card without using any internal memory.if anyone know how to make these apk please tell me or any games that are moving to sd card..fully...

Hi people I have a question >> can Whatsapp be transferred to external sdcard...and if yes then do all images and videos share on whatsapp get stored on external sd or internal sd... kindly let me know...accordingly I may decide to purchase the phone.
I know not all apps can be moved to SD natively but even those that can don't seem to move the large obb files (I'm talking about games mostly here, which are what tends to use those and what I really need to move, as the other app files aren't that big). Neither does Link2SD (which seems to require a secondary ext partition on the SD, it can't move apps to the main FAT32 partition as far as I understand, so I created a 4GB partition for that but that wouldn't fit many game obb files on it and it's much easier if I can keep the FAT32 partition as big as possible and decide whether to use the space for obbs or other stuff like music, videos, photos, etc).
I did use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-obb-sd-v0-1-t2884004 which lets me move the obb folder to the SD FAT32 partition but I still have to move the files manually and although it works for most games I've tried, it doesn't seem to for Assassin's Creed Pirates and one other (can't recall at the moment but it's a gameloft game). I would have thought if it's just symlinking the original obb folder to the SD card, that should be transparent to and thus work for everything , so I don't know why it doesn't.
Anyway, I'm just wondering if I'm overlooking some easier method of moving specific apps that will automatically move all files to the SD card and work for everything? I only want to move games (and maybe some other large files, such as maps downloaded for navigation apps), as the SD isn't encrypted so I wouldn't want any personal or sensitive data sitting on the unencrypted SD but so far I've only seen games use the obb folder and even if other apps do use it, if it only contains app data rather than user data it shouldn't matter from a security point of view. I'm running KitKat on a Moto G2 Dual SIM if that matters.
